My 10 year old is learning to skate and now at 50 I want to join him. Your videos have been so helpful to me. Growing up in Florida ice skating and hockey was not a sport we had but with the popularity growing we now have rinks everywhere here. Thank you for putting so much time into helping others like myself.

Front blade flex unleashing power is 100% pure gimmick, but if the player believes it works, it has done its job. The only thing a blade can do is offer a longer contact surface, that's why speed skaters use such long blades, not great for playing hockey.

    Ok firstly the Chocolate thing🤔
The UK definitely has the better chocolate taste as I’ve also had US chocolate and it’s not even close.Plus I lived in OZ for 10yrs and they put an additive in their chocolate to stop it melting in the heat when it’s stored in shops which really does affect the taste (and badly) Cadbury’s tastes weird out there🙈
As for these Skate Blades Chris and Gents I need some help here as I have recently purchased a pair of mint used CCM FT1 Jetspeed Skates which have had a TUUK Lightspeed edge blade quick release holder swap with no Blades (280mm Size) so what blades can I use or do I actually need to get these up and running again using Blade tech runners?

I've used step steel forever now. I was forced to try something else since the price for step in the Tuuk holders is going up when you can find it. I was questioning the BladeTech claims. But, grabbed the top end with the diamond coating...the bite on the ice is as good as step. You do feel "livelier" with them. And, I'm used to sharpening every two to three games with a touch up on burrs every skate. I've now gone 7 games and all skates in between without sharpening and only ONE small burr on one edge. It's unreal.

@@wwjohnnymaydo I’m in the same boat I had old cheap Mission skates for like 15 years and I never had to think about skating ever. Used to play pick up at a pretty solid level with no helmet, no shoulder pads… never even considered that I might lose my balance and basically only fell when tripped. That pair finally gave in and I threw it in the trash.
3 pairs of mid to high end Buaer skates later and I still can’t figure out my balance points. I’m falling when transitioning from forward to backwards skating, losing my balance and falling in puck battles and when I’m slowly gliding back to open up for a pass or a one timer. I’ve even tried a profile on one of the pair of Bauers and it looked like a bad job and actually made things worse. I’m so lost right now I don’t even know what to do.

Additionally, for players would could easily normalize the data by counting things like ice time and number of skate sharpenings, and not count actual time. In that way we could easily get metrics. americans on purpose put aromas in their chocolate that are a result of milk turning bad.
They do that since the US soldiers got used to the cheap bars they got in their MREs during ww2 and wanted the same taste when they got home.
Actually that slightly rancid taste is generally a cultural thing.
Italians for example prefer their butter in a slightly riper state than what the rest of Europe is used to.

no they won't help you skate faster.....it's a marketing gimmick, the changes these make are so small you'll never see any real benefit, even at the pro level in the NHL the fastest skaters lap times haven't really changed that much since 1997, all of this hype about skates that make you faster is mostly BS. but to be clear, yes, mechanically speaking these should make you faster but in reality the changes are so small and insignificant there's no actual real benefit, if there was you'd expect that fastest skater in 1997 would be much slower than the fastest skater in 2021 with DECADES of tech advancement at play but you're talking 1/10th of a second....like it or not the only way to skate faster or shoot harder is to practice....quit buying crap you don't need and put in the work guys.
