Luke needs a raise ! This guy killed it
Thanks!
Video editor smashed it. Good review and remember - he said "first impressions". I managed to snag a pair of FT6 pro skates early before the actual release date and I play recreational pickup. This skate is for anyone and everyone. He's not kidding about the initial feel when you try them on. They are extremely comfortable but, you definitely need to heat mold them. I found that there was a lot of ankle bite because of the amount of foam cushioning in the boot. Even after almost a month later, I may have to have them baked again. As for the performance, it's performed exceptionally well.....almost to the point where the skate is doing all the work for you. I've noticed that my acceleration from a stopped position is better. There's better glide as well. If you're good with your edge work, you will find that the boot adapts and works well with you. Keep in mind that the price tag is hefty and it cost me about $1400 including taxes, but it is an elite skate.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to us to receive such positive feedback. Glad you enjoy your skates as well, they are awesome!
How did you fix the ankle bite part ?
@joshuasangco6274 I had it punched out at Majer Hockey here in Toronto. I pointed to exactly where it was grinding into my foot (inner left side between the length of where the heel and toe is). They punched it out and baked it up, and had me wear it. Cost me $40. Haven't had issues since then. Would have been free if I took my skate where I bought it, but I was too lazy. Lol
Great content!! Looking forward to more reviews.
Thanks!
Great review. Am waiting for the wide models to arrive in Scandinavia.
Great review ! Thinking of getting them or the Hyperlite 2 which is a better skate ? Can you do a comparison video please ?
The editing!!! 🤩
Bought them. They are great!
That CCM sweater is sick. Great review!
Thanks!
killed it on this review to 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
What would you prefer the Bauer hyperlite 2 or CCM ft6 pro? I'm interested in both
Thanks for this review. Sounds like the skates you want to own. I will try them out for sure.
The heavier weight is in line with the trend. Newer (top) models are gaining weight partially because of added comfort & durability. Back in the day the only skate that was unmatched in terms of comfort & durability was GRAF. By far the most comfortible skates for many. And they seemed indestructable. But, they couldn't compete with the lighter models of Bauer and CCM and lost much of their popularity. To the extend that even GRAF has now stepped away from the heavier, more durable, build quality. Meanwhile other brands are moving in the opposite direction as with these FT6 pro's. Interesting!
Thanks for the kind words!
LOOKS GOOOOOOOOD
Thanks!
hey can you compare the hyperlite 2 and this skate just based on your opinions like about what you think is better on each skate and maybe the style of play they are best for
That CCM jacket is really nice
Thanks!
Ok so I play a lot of hockey, I play forward and D, I have the ultra sonics bur I’ve been wanting to try others and then probably go custom. So seeing you’ve tried both, would you recommend CCM or Bauer?
bauer skates are horrendous now, dont know what happened to them, but they are so much more uncomfortable than ccms
How do the FT6 Pros compare to the Hyper Lite 2???
6:50 what " skate size" are those two mass numbers for?
Pretty sure the ASV Pro has game ready fit from factory.
best 8:29 seconds of my life
Thanks! 😁
Hey luke Bauer hyperlite 2 or ccm ft6 pro
Should I get these or the HyperLite 2 Skates? Both are so sick!
It's a tough one! Best thing to do is go to your local shop and try on both. The FT6 Pro's are one of the comfiest skates out the box because of the thick ankle foams but some people might not like that much foam in their skates.
@@thehockeyshopbcI did hahah I tried both on and both felt so good! Such a hard choice, I’m curious what you’ll end up picking between the two lol
Fun fact: the FT1 OG skates are nearly 250grams lighter than the new FT6 Pros. Not sure why they are making skates so much thicker and bulkier these days compared to even a few years ago. Seems counterintuitive
please do a video of nathan mackinnons tape job
ccm sweater is 🔥
Aye thanks!
I was shocked to find out the top of the foot (of the tongue) wasn’t memory foam, just a small piece at the top of the tongue that you absolutely never have contact with.
Not a single reviewer pointed this out.
Hopefully that feature is in the ft7..what a joke.
I wear superfeet; if I heat mold these skates without my superfeet insoles in and put them in afterwards, will my feet be unaligned with the mold?
I have this exact questions. My FT6 Pros get here Wednesday (partially due to this video and Hockey Tutorial), but I have recently discovered superfeet and they have been instrumental in helping my arch and ankle on my left foot. I have to have them.
@@ZDrum16 im still waiting on an answer.
Congrats on the ft6 pros! 😎I was also inspired by this video and hockey tutorial’s 😂; mine arrive on Tuesday!
I plan on getting them heat molded at the hockey shop, I will ask them in person.
If I can remember to, I will post back on here with their answer 👍🏼
@@JNunez7 awesome please do! Thanks for the reply!
i always mold them with them inside, itll probably change due to the superfeet being different than the one included
best skate review every other review is the same as the other
Thank you for the kind words!
Ok
I’m not picking on you in particular, but the problem with this sort of review is that describing a skate straight out of the box as comfortable for everyone is complete nonsense. Feet vary in shape hugely. I have flippers, and even Bauer customs were no good as there was no lateral support for my ankles. The True TF9 is the first skate that fits me, because it is very very thermoformable, and my skating has improved dramatically. Bauer are not thermoformable despite the marketing. I can now do edge drills, such as powerpulls and backwards crossrolls, that I couldn’t do in Bauers after years of lessons. Perhaps CCM skates are sufficiently mouldable, perhaps not, I have no idea.
Just got these for $350
How are they man? Newer (ice) skater to be honest, most of my play with roller, though I head to the ice from time to time.
@@sealthedealgaming3331 about to get them today
How did you get them for $350???
Marketing just marketing
