  • The race you are about to see appear as originally broadcast and may contain imagery that is offensive and doesn't align with NASCAR's values. NASCAR has since permanently banned the display of the confederate flag at all events.

Jim Vandiver intentionally spinning out his car and hopping over the fence to avoid being arrested (due to a court ordered custody case that he had skipped) and then hitchhiking back to his house is PURE NASCAR GOLD! 🤣

We didn't know how good we had it. We thought this kind of NASCAR racing would last forever.

    “It’s about a 120 mph race track that we’re running 150 on”

When Bobby Isaac "called it quits" after hearing that voice to tell him to stop during the 1973 Talladega 500, a race that had already seen one driver, Larry Smith, lose his life, Bud Moore needed a driver to replace Isaac, but the fact that he chose a then-untested rookie over much more established drivers, including Dick Brooks, who won that race at Talladega (and drove Don Bierschwale's #61 car in this race), probably showed the rest of the garage area how much talent he believed Waltrip had, and of course, he would be proven more than right. And even in spite of that early race brush with the wall, Waltrip did still finish a credible eighth. But that was to be his only decent race in Bud's #15 car, as he likely wasn't quite ready for such an opportunity, and Moore elected to go with road race star George Follmer in 1974, before replacing him with Buddy Baker at the World 600.

How bout Bud Moore driving the #90. I never know if it’s “Little” Bud or not

How about a shoutout to BILL FLEMING who, I think, did an EXCELLENT job of calling MANY NASCAR and other races as well as other sport. We don’t hear his name enough…

Back when stock car racing, was fun and interesting.
I miss those days, and actual stock cars.
    Today...unwatchable, corporate nonsense.
    Indy car, too.
    Shameless!!!
