Thank you! This was very helpful! The instruction depicts as if the whole barrel needs to be twisted. I didn’t realise it’s a separate tiny barrel within the larger barrel that twist out.
Any idea what to do if I lose the small black thing that holds the button cell in upper part?? The pen works but with less features.. and no blue light while clicking the top button
Thank you! You'd think that a large corporation like Dell would be smart enough to create something like this, but I guess that's the beauty of CZcams.
The spring in the top of the pen fell and my pen does not work connect anymore to my laptop. Do you happen to know where I could get a replacement for the spring or any ideas on how to fix it?
Hey hello I'm working with a dell pen and it's been 2 months and the dell pen is not working nicely like when I write with it the lines breaks can you please me out please sir
For this pen, it takes a AAAA battery and two coin-cell 319 batteries. Both are available on Amazon (or elsewhere, I'm sure, but they're hard to find in-store).
I have the dell Inspiron 5482. Think it's the same as yours probably. Mine comes with the nvidia graphics actually... But either way the pen that I use is the PN338M
Mine didn't work, the top button works, I can get it connected to my touch screen Dell laptop, open one note see it in the Bluetooth section but it doesn't seem to be working, any Idea? Thanks:)
Imad Jawad If the top button is working and it’s connected to Bluetooth, the tiny batteries are installed correctly. If the rest doesn’t work, it’s most likely that the AAAA battery is either in upside-down or it needs to be replaced.
Good day. So I have the PN557W Pen, however every time I decide to use the pen it seems the battery (AAAA) is dead and there seems to be no way to turn it off. Do I have to remove the battery everytime it is not in use? This is very frustrating. @Pearland ISD Littles
We definitely can't say for certain what is going on, but that's not expected behavior. You may have a bad battery or possibly a bad pen. Though usage varies, we've had our batteries last anywhere from 4-9 months. When we first received them, we had a bad batch of batteries (slight imperfections that made the batteries not work, probably caused by heat in shipping). Replacing them with new, quality batteries resolved those issues. In any case, if you're still having trouble, contact Dell.
@@yellowjoe.2000 depends on what is happening with the pen. If the pen will no longer connect via Bluetooth (button functions no longer work, etc.), that’s the small batteries. If the pen doesn’t work as a stylus anymore, that’s the AAAA battery.

The 🤬 instructions from Dell aren’t even remotely close. Thank you for this life-saving video!
Thank you so much! I would have never figured it out!
This is awesome! Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much I had no idea about this and would not be able to figure out myself.
did this and my pen doesnt turn on. It doesn't turn on in this video either how do you know you did it correctly?

Could I get a similar video recommendation for my PN 338M please!!!!!
Does it work for Dell latitude 3390 2in 1 laptop

This was excellent, thank you! I was about to return it or trash it.
How long this battery can support it ?

So that Dell pen takes three batteries? Thank you 🤓 will the PN556W work with a non - Dell touchscreen device?
What type of batteries does it take pls? Mode
Do you know how I can unscrew the small part if it won’t budge????
I've had success using the edge of a coin, or something small, like a fingernail file. Anything with a small, firm edge should do it.
Maybe you've got the new version where you just have to pull instead of screw. I almost broke mine before realizing
What batteries did u use ? Not sure what ones to get

You should tell what model of pen you are using. The Dell PN 350M does not have the little batteries.
It's the Dell Active Pen -
PN557W.
Mine is the 350 and it doesn’t work. What should I do?
seems like Dell needs to be paying you for this
I definitely don't disagree. Honestly, I just made it to save myself time with the folks I serve; I'm just happy it's useful to others as well.
Hi my friend i ordered dell Inspiron 5481 i wanna to know what pen to buy to work correct

@@SethFewell battery replaced and sits correct, still not working, I think the circuit powered by the AAAA is defective, thanks for your time and help

Did the two small batteries come with the pen? Mine did not.
Yes, there are several models of this Active Stylus. Yours might be different than this model.
Mine either! Also need the specific model number for the batteries
mine didn't come with the thread
Thx bro, dell instruction was realy horible xD
Just like all DELL products, this is just sucks
