Oh dear lord. This is going to be amazing. I love Miranda's smile and laugh so much, and I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of both 😂🤣😋
I watch blind reactions to feel something, like how I felt before when I first saw things. But it's some serious soul food to watch Austin Powers with someone who has already watched it!
@@Flirken1Maybe you should take some of your own advice, because that comment is not a good look.
@Flirken1 how's about getting out of your mom's basement and doing something productive instead of trolling CZcams comments and talking shit you punk 😂. Now, your mommy is calling you for dinner. Make sure she burbs you before putting you down for your nap 😂
@flirken Bruh, imagine feeling so bad about your own life that you gotta crap on someone giving compliments.
@@Flirken1You express your own concerns and inadequacies very well.
Like most pathetic people do.

I hope you followed that.
When I was 3 years old I went to daycare and said to all the kids “I lost my mojo” and they tried looking for it 😂. The adults were killing themselves laughing and my mom got a kudos at pick up.
37:43 - Girl, you gotta see Wayne's World 1 & 2. Without those films, there'd be no Austin Powers. Excellent!
We're not worthy!! We're not worthy!!
Also, So I Married an Axe Murderer
“I’ve never seen any James Bond movies, except maybe one”
Well, I know what I’ll be requesting next 😂
Soo many great james bond classics! Some of the greatest stunts ever!!
It's honestly kind of wholesome how supportive Tom Arnold's character is when he thinks Austin is struggling to use the bathroom lol.
We're gonna get through this! 😂
An Austin Powers reaction? Yeah, baby. *YEAH!*
Super excited if you stay James Bond. Def start with Dr No. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍🇬🇧
And then Goldfinger! Those two should be sufficient to get most jokes.
Or as one noted scholar called it: "Doctor Number" :D
And From Russia With Love. She’ll get Frau Farbissina.
@@marinedalekhey now! We all love Cassie. But, um, yeah.😂
what happend to doctor yes?
Austin Powers just makes me giggle uncontrollably sometimes. So many quotable sayings in this movie I still use. 😂
Oh behave!
I love that Random Task is a direct parody of the Bond villain Oddjob from Goldfinger, of course Goldfinger himself was parodied in the third Austin Powers movie.
Auschtin Powerzsh faszha!
"If I ever watch this movie with someone and they don't laugh... major red flag."
Watching this movie i may not laugh because I'm too busy quoting every line lol
That is still a pass 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"The militant wing of the salvation army"🤣
A cut line followed that. "she believes in using force and violence in getting people old coats" 😀
I love Frau Farbissina! Miranda definitely needs to watch From Russia With Love.
This trilogy never gets old and Mike Myers performance is so amazing and funny
"THROW ME A FRICKEN BONE" My childhood saying 😂
Yes all from James Bond movies
GOLD MEMBER original movie GOLD FINGER.
THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME original movie THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.
Such a comic genius... love to know what he's up to these days
you would love his movie called So I Married an Axe Murderer sooo funny
Very underrated. I love Alan Arkin and Phil Hartman's little roles. RIP to both.
That "wo man" poetry scene kills me
@@nickc127 me too loll
Yes! I love everything Myers has done, but honestly Axe Murderer is probably my favorite.
Fun reaction to a landmark comedy. I saw that at a Drive-In on its opening weekend back in '97. To answer two of your questions... (1) yes, Big Boy restaurants are still around and that was always my favorite place to stop during road trips as a kid. They're franchised today across a ton of different names, but they're still out there to find. (2) Regarding the "Ham Sandwich" line as Austin is realizing that all of his idols have passed away. Mama Cass (Cass Elliot) was a singer in "The Mamas and the Papas" and you might remember their 1966 hit, Monday, Monday. Mama Cass passed away in her sleep at only 32. When her friend (and reporter) heard the news and called Elliot's manager to find out what happened, he saw a half-eaten ham sandwich on the night stand and begged her to report that Cass had choked on a ham sandwich. Because Cass was no stranger to drug use, her manager thought he was protecting her reputation. As it turns out, Cass died of a heart attack and had no drugs in her system. The ham sandwich story quickly became one of the first global urban legends... and many today still think that's how she died. Her daughter, Owen Elliot-Kugell, has a book about her mother titled "My Mama, Cass" that is scheduled to release in May 2024.
There were three Big Boy restaurants near me for my entire life, but two of them just closed down for good recently. I'm not sure why, as they always seemed to be full of people. They were there for well over 60 years. This makes me afraid for the last one.
If I remember correctly, Mama Cass' heart attack was actually triggered _because_ she had dropped a great deal of weight in a very short time and her body couldn't handle the shock. She had always been a larger woman, so people _wanted_ to snicker about the sandwich; "live by the sword", "just desserts", that kind of thing. Damn shame, really, just as she was entering a whole new phase of her life...
I grew up lonely & found comfort in movies, shows, vidya’s.
This was one of a dozen VHS cassettes I’d watch constantly as a kid :3
I worked at Frisch's Big Boy for TEN YEARS and I always forget the mascot was in this movie lol.
The first AP movie is so brilliant, especially if you're a Bond fan. There are so many little details being spoofed which adds a whole other level to the comedy.
Omg. If you haven't seen any James Bond movies, you're missing out. There's also a ton of references in Austin Powers to specific things in Bond Films.
For an additional reference, watch the musical film, "A Hard Days Night" (1964) with the Beatles😊
I was lucky enough to have seen A Hard Day's Night first, so I got the reference is the first time around. Same thing with the yellow submarine movie, and totally getting all the references in the Mad Mod episode of Teen Titans
Not to mention 1967 Casino Royale, Matt Helm and Our Man Flint
This movie resarted Burt Baccurat's music career. He did have such great music.
(beat) "Riiight."
GODS that line read was HILARIOUS. No idea how or why, but for my money, when I first saw this, it was the single funniest line in the whole damn thing!
You should watch "So I Married an Axe Murderer," starring Mike Myers..
I did not get the "Or sometimes not at all" joke when I first saw this movie in 1997.
BUT I DO NOW.
26:12 ... Back in the 90s the most popular Nike shoes were the Nike Pumps. There was an air pump on the tongue of the show that would pump up air bladders inside the shoe so they perfectly fit around your foot.
They were Reebok's, not Nike. Good story though. Research before lecture...
Had a pair. were super comfy
I worked at Chuck E Cheese as a technician, and every few months we got in new tapes for the shows, music videos, promos, etc, and they would always do recreation music videos with the Chuck E characters, and they did a shot by shot of the Austin Powers opening scene. That was my favorite
Not sure if you noticed, but the woman in the band during the cutscenes, is the legendary Susanna Hoffs; lead singer of The Bangles!
I saw this as a teen before watching Bond movies, then I got into Bond (all the Bonds) as an adult only to re-watch the first Austin powers a decade-plus later (last year) and the spoofs are masterfully done. Most are pretty obvious but some are subtle, it was really fun watching it as an adult and picking up on all the James Bond spoofs.
Your O ring: The muscle you use to keep yourself from pooping your pants. Your sphincter.
💩
I've only just started this video. Your comment is weird without context.
Lmaooooo
@@chaeobodshahahahahah! This is hilarious!!
The O ring is also the part which failed during the Challenger shuttle explosion.
Naked Gun trilogy, Leslie Nielsen. Let's go.
A mechanic recently told me he had to do an Austin Powers K turn to get a car out of the lot, it's such a useful turn of phrase!
Speaking of spoofs, you definitely need to watch the 1984's "Top Secret!" from the makers of "Airplane!"
One of my favourite things is watching someone watch something they love. The reactions are so great no matter what.
True! I love watching people talk about anything they like (even if I know nothing about it) just because seeing their faces light up is the best part!
Wanna know something funny? When I was high school I once did the Austin Powers opening dance for the talent show and won 1st prize. I had the costume, the theme and the dance moves.
The thawing out sequence is definitely a Demolition Man homage.
The Great Burt Bacharach was a musical GENIUS back in the 60s.
I watched this movie with a baby boomer couple who were teens in the late 60s. They couldn't stop laughing even in parts that I didn't think were supposed to be funny. Context is everything.
Yes, Big Boy restaurants are still around. There isn't very many but I remember in the 1970's they were quite popular, at least in the Cleveland area. Smokey and the Bandit is the comedy film that means so much to me in the way that this film means so much to you. It was a great time to be alive when that film came out, and it was so cherished by everyone at the time.
Smokey and the Bandit is one of the greatest movies ever. When I was young we had two cats. One black and white (with black on his face around his eyes). Bandit. And his brother was solid grey. Smokey.
But watching her reaction to this classic is great fun.
I just looked it up, according to Wikipedia there are currently 66 big boy restaurants in the US & 2 in Thailand under the original ownership. But there are 2 other companies that have independent rights to the name, one that runs 274 restaurants in Japan and another that has 90 locations in the US.
You're right Miranda. When you haven't watched a certain movie in an age or so, or you might've been too young to appreciate it at the time, it does hit you differently when you rewatch it. & I definitely love the idea of a rewatch series. Other favorites who've first reacted to this movie, have mentioned that they weren't allowed to watch it when they were kids. So it's refreshingly unusual that your folks allowed you to watch this when you were younger.
I agree, I feel like when I watch movies at different parts of my life, I pick up on things I missed. Young "me" didn't even know Forest Gump had comedy at all. Me now will laugh until i cry. This is one of those movies hitting way harder with me now. LOL. The schism between Dr Evil and Scott is SO visceral now! LOL
Mama Cass was rumored to have choked to death on a ham sandwich, which wasn't true, but it persists to this day.
I know 😂. Can't believe such a ridiculous story like that got started. It was a baloney sammich
She actually died from a heart attack.
I agree with you, Miranda. Everybody does first-time reactions, but I wish more people were providing analysis and commentary on the movies they already love. Kudos to you.
I usually don't watch reactions where the reactor has already seen the movie but I do so enjoy seeing you so happy! (And it IS Austin Powers)
Re: talking in the public restroom; I have so many times wanted to say " who does number two work for!?" I just can't. What if they don't get it? I did once say, in the bathroom at work, "take your loved ones and head for higher ground". I really had to pee. Swing and a miss...
I wasn't sure if people were gonna care about this video because it wasn't blind, but I'm glad to see that people are enjoying just as much, if not more! I found myself enjoying making the video even more because it felt more like a review/favorite moments/discussion kind of video instead of just a straight reaction where you don't know what's coming next! Which can be a lot of pressure when people are expecting you to pick up on all of their favorite moments, but when you already know you love it, and you know all the best parts (or at least you think you do until you watch it again for 100th time and still find something new lol), it almost enhances the moments you already love, and makes the video more fun all around!
"And this is my associate.. Frau Farbissina."
*Horses whinny in fear outside*
Hahahahahhahahahahhaahaaaaa if only I would have thought to do that!
Miranda has best reaction of anybody on CZcams . Her smile laugh is infectious !!
I still say shits and giggles thanks to this movie lol. I'm so happy you shared this!
It's been ages, nice to revisit this classic.
Let's Go ! Austin Powers International Man of Mystery is one of my favorite comedies ever hell this whole trilogy is and they really dont make comedies like these anymore , i rewatched this whole trilogy a few months ago and it felt like watching it again for the first time this trilogy is hilarious 😂
I've never been a huge fan of the first movie but love the other two.
But watching the pure joy in your reaction has raised my opinion of it a bit 😂
Austin Powers is my childhood! Such a delight! I need to watch this again too now! So fun that you watched it!! My jokes are totally Austin Powers like lol
This is an awesome idea. I go back and watch a lot of people’s earlier stuff once I get to know them. I enjoy wondering what they would think if they were to come back and watch those films with more experienced eyes. Just yesterday I had re- watched your spaceballs reaction and was flabbergasted to realize that had only happened 5 months ago… how much cinematic evolution you gone through in such a short period of time. It’s been great to watch. Watching you rewatch is going to be great We can watch ….as revelations are … revealed? to you. lol
Getting the references when a movie is spoofing something will definitely make it funnier, but I think the comedy in Austin Powers works whether you've seen James Bond or not. I LOVE these films too! Great reaction as always.
J'aime beaucoup Austin Power mais voir ta réaction sur le film est tout aussi génial !
Concerning the "pe**s enlarger pump" scene: I think it is often overlooked just how much the quartermaster adds to the comedy, mostly just via his facial expressions or lack thereof in some cases (I believe the guy was Mike Myer's comedy partner back in their standup days). That cheeky grin he wears at the end when he offers up the pump one last time is just the cherry on top of the chef's kiss.
You should check out Johnny English. That's us Brits spoofing ourselves! Brilliant Bond parody!
Should definitely check out the Bond movies too. I'd suggest starting at the beginning with Dr No. There's 25 Bond films in total to date.
Rowan Atkinson's Johnny English is quite funny, but I get the plots of the two movies confused 😅
Gary Coleman; famous 80's child actor. Starred in the sitcom "Different Strokes", famous for the catchphrase "whatcha talk'n 'bout Willis?!?".
He basically did nothing after the show was cancelled.
When this movie was new I enjoyed watching it with my seventeen year old daughter. The following weekend?I got her to watch 3 of the Sean Connery Bond movies. Dr. No, Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice. For all of the references.
I had as much fun sharing those movies with her as watching Austin Powers.
Gold member is a personal favourite! Of course you like these movies 😂
I love the Austin Powers movies. I watched the first one on VHS then watched the other 2 in the theater. The spy who shagged me is my favorite of the series
I shy away from rewatches, but Austin Powers is a favorite. I love that you love it too. Great re-reaction -laughed thoroughly with you. ❤from Cleveland! Yea, baby, yea!!
I wasn't sure if people would care since I have seen them! But I actually think these videos might be just as fun for both me and the people watching because it feels more like a discussion/reaction/favorite moments and it's easier to play around with the movie, compared to just a blind reaction! People often expect me to pick up on every single thing the first time around which is hard to do, but a rewatch can amplify all the best parts!
I adore these films, and I think the shadow "muppet" scenes are amongst the funniest and greatest comedy moments ever created on film. So definitely do the next two!
Great movies are REWATCHABLE forever. That is what makes them great. This movie is not on my top tier list but it's good and we will all have a great time watching it. Well done girl. 😍
Fun fact Mike Myers is a die hard monty python fan and even appeared in their last ever live performance
For most Austin Powers references i would recommend starting it the beginning with Dr. No. Most reverences are from the older films.
You should do a James Bond series you will love it
I just had a flash of insight- look up Dean Martin as Matt Helm in _Murderer's Row_ or _The Silencers._ Dean does James Bond-type spy parody. 😁
James Coburn in Our Man Flint.
"Allow myself to introduce...myself"
Labyrinth? Princess Bride? The Lost Boys!?
GET OUT OF MY CHILDHOOD MIRANDA!! GET YOUR OWN!!
LOL
Oh god, my 7th grade science teacher played this for all of her classes and I was in her last period and she just sighed as she pushed the tape in going "I swear, if I have to hear "Swedish Made penis enlarger pump" ONE more time today" oh nostalgia.
"No, not dead... burned... badly..."
The Nike Air pump, as I had one in 1995... I'm not old, you're old... tightened the tongue of the shoe down onto your foot for a snugger fit, so you could run with no worries of your shoe flopping about.
Dr. Evil going "Riiiiiight" is my most used reaction irl or in gif format of ALL TIME. AND I AM NOT SORRY!
Second only to the Meow Mix song, which my cat knows well by now.
And now a bit of fun trivia, the band you see Austin performing in, is real. Mike Myers created it, it's called Ming Tea.
Why in God's name would your 7th grade Science teacher show this movie to her classes???!!!
@@deepermind4884 because we were all 13 and that's old enough to see a pg-13 film???
@@Lady_Kyutoko_of_Glencoe That's not what's bothering me. What does seeing this movie have to do with LEARNING SCIENCE?!?!? Why is she showing comedy movies in her class instead of TEACHING them something???!!!
@@deepermind4884 Why would we be learning anything on the last day of the year? Only the most evil teacher gives homework after the Final has been taken.
LET'S GO, BABY, YEAH!! 🤣🤣
The Austin Powers trilogy is littered with so many memorable one-liners! As you're familiar with this movie, if you ever do decide to watch any of the James Bond films, either on your channel or privately, you'll recognise which films the parodies came from and will make you laugh just as much! 😂
Thank you for giving me something to smile and laugh at today, Miranda! 😊
I Just find you.. like 10 min ago in recommended .. But yes i remember watching this movie in the cinema with my older sister and loving it... Love you´r vibe.. love!
Legendary reaction Miranda ❤. Can’t wait for #2 and #3. Keep the laughs going
Calling the first Austin Powers film “important” *should* sound silly, but I feel the exact same way!
My childhood bestie and I used to “watch” movies (over the phone) together - this being one of our mutual favorites. He passed away [car-on-pedestrian accident] between our Freshman and Sophomore years of High School. I was devastated. Like the “I can’t imagine ever smiling again” kind of devastated.
But, standing in line for the “viewing” at his wake, a friend walked up to me and quietly said something along the lines of: What if we got to the casket and just heard him whisper “Do I make you horny, baby?!” I broke out in a completely inappropriate fit of laughter. The looks of disapproval from multiple “grown-ups” on either side were palpable. And I didn’t care one bit because, when it was finally my turn to say a formal “goodbye,” my smile was back.
As a result, the last words I “said” to my friend were joyous and thankful, rather than despairing. I genuinely credit this beyond-silly movie with helping me through one of the toughest periods of my life. #yeahbaby
P.S. Two nights ago, I went to a dinner at a fancy steakhouse. The server mentioned “sea bass” as the catch-of-the-day and I reflexively asked if they were “ill-tempered.” To my surprise/relief, he instantly said “absolutely!” and did the Dr. Evil mouth-pinky gesture. Needless to say, we tipped him well!
You just made my day, Miranda! I watched the Austin Powers movies when I was a kid. You're awesome! Take care!
I've been watching many of your reactions to GREAT comedy movies! I love how much you love them! You are such a breath of fresh air! I'll watch many more!
You and I are so alike when watching Austin powers, I love it 😂😁
I spent most of my later middle school years and early high school as the class clown and Mike myers and chris Farley were my inspirations. Hope you watch 2 and 3.
Totally agree I'm soo happy I grew up watching these movies 😂
Amazing movie and reaction Can't wait to see you rewatch The Princess Bride, one of the best films of all time.
There was a Casino Royale movie from the 1960s, which is not in the James Bond series but is a comedy spoof of the series. It has many top-tier actors of the day.
The reaction I didn't know I needed 😂. It was fun strolling down nostalgia lane with you! 🤣
So you've watched this movie countless times, but have you ever seen the international version? It still has two bits that were taken out of the US version, both related to the two henchmen that died. They're sure to be among deleted scenes if you look for them.
My "cool" aunt introduced me to Austin Powers when I was little. My parents wouldn't let me watch it at home but I'd watch it any time I stayed with my aunt. It's one of my all time favorite comedies and will always have a special place in my heart. A classic.
6:55 - There are 25 Bond films, officially. That's still fewer films than the MCU.
Yes, Big Boy restaurants still exist. There's one less than a mile from me. They used to have the best onion rings around, but they switched to buying frozen generic ones and it's heart breaking.
oh man. i really need to watch these movies again. there are so many movies that i've seen probably nearly a hundred times but since i passed puberty the movies that i have rewatched so far i just understand way more than i ever did. it's like how you grow up on cartoons and then see clips and stuff as an adult and there's just tons of inappropriate jokes.
also, you should really rewatch the rest of the Austin Powers movies. it puts a smile on my face seeing people also enjoying the movies i've loved for years.
I remember one time at a former job when I was helping out a co-worker to go through a list of items, I would go "YEAH BABY!!!" whenever he called out an item name 😆
Star Wars A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi!
First time on this channel... actually found it not just funny, but moving. Much Love Baby. Thank You. Quoted it along with ya haha.
Please do the whole franchise, a few months ago it was non existent. Gold member deserves a spot on every reactor’s channel
Can’t wait for Goldmember!
“Put it in the shkin box. Schave me from myschelf. I’m peeling.”
"Your body is very toit. You musht work out "
I love Austin Powers series. Some of the best comedies of all time for me. I also must say you are first woman that I know that loves it as much as I do. None of my girlfriends have liked it ever. 😆👍
I have seen them so many times and they just never ever get old!!
I love the Random Task joke. It's a play on words of the Bond henchman Oddjob from Goldfinger.
I still use the "give my undercarriage a bit of the how's your father' line.
ooo i was so waiting of this
Re Bond Movies:
There are 25 official movies plus two unofficial ones.
The first Austin Powers movie takes a lot from Goldfinger (the third Bond movie) even though the third Austin Powers movie (Goldmember) parodied the name.
Watching the Bond movies adds a whole other level of appreciation for the Austin Powers movies so I'm shocked you've never seen them.
Groove Baby 😂🍿
As a fan of Austin Powers, I think you would enjoy a trip through his inspirations - Michael Caine's Harry Palmer (3 movies), James Coburn's Flint (2? movies), and the early Bonds, particularly the villains & henchmen (Start with Connery's Dr No)
A teacher of mine in high school adopted her nephew as a toddler, and she allowed him to choose his own middle name. Of course he chose the name Danger! I always thought that was a really cool thing to do for a kid, and this movie always reminds me of that. 💖
Miranda, if you like the Beatles, you’d love their movies! They’re all really funny, especially A Hard Day’s Night. The opening credits scene of this movie is a total homage to AHDN! You’d probably get copyright claimed from here to eternity but I’d love seeing your reactions lol.
You must watch James Bond, then you'll love Austin Powers even more!
8:53 My parents had this exact album. One of my childhood favorites.
Really enjoyed your re-watch. Keep them coming!
