A small explanation..(just a popular fan theory which makes a lot of sense) .....a lot of people get confused as to why taki didn't write his name on her hand and wrote I LOVE YOU when he had time...but it actually happaned because he knew that the name will get erased just how the memos got erased earlier...because time tries to correct itself but the word "i love you" according to japanese lore is said to be protected by moon god and hence wouldn't get erased that's why he chose to write i love you coz then she'd atleast know that it's something important even though she doesn't remember him...
Just to clarify, this is a popular fan theory, but there is no source to confirm whether or not this is canon.
Everyone is free to believe this (because neither is there any source saying it is wrong), but when you tell people about it you need to qualify that you think it’s true, but you don’t know for sure.

I'm a grown ass man and no matter how many times I watch this movie, I cry. So yeah, I think it's normal.
If you watch it again, I strongly suggest that you check out the subtitled version, rather than the dubbed version. The feel of the movie is just different.

Was just about to say... especially also the songs hit different even with subtitles. The EN band did a good job though.

I've watched so many reaction videos for Your Name, and you're among the few who realized the time difference this early on. I think you might possibly be THE fastest to do so as far as I can remember.
Fun fact! The director of the movie, Makoto Shinkai, confirmed in an interview that following the events of Your Name, Mitsuha and Taki do indeed get married!
Well not hate the dubbed version but I think better a subtitled version for anime like this especially movies.
I love this movie. Makoto Shinkai's work frequently plays with love, longing, loss, and distance, but I think this is his best work so far. The happy ending certainly helps.
The story reminds me a lot of short story by Haruki Murakami called "On seeing the 100% perfect girl one beautiful April morning"

I searched for A Silent Voice but can't find it anywhere. It's gone from Crunchyroll and Netflix, and I can't rent it from Amazon because it's not available in my region :(

I still can't find "I want to Eat your Pancreas," though. That annoys me because I really want to watch.
If you liked this, the director Makoto Shinkai has two other similar anime movies out: the 2019 _Weathering with You_ and the 2022 _Suzumi_ . I haven't seen the latter, but _Weathering with You_ has much of the same beauty and magic as _Your Name_ and I would love it if you would react to it.

Love this movie but it's 1000 times better in sub (as you're also used to sub with kdramas) trust me they even change the dialogues sometimes in dub
Also you can a silent voice on many other sites if it's not available on the official sites

Don't tell her, so she doesn't get spoiled and that comes as a surprise!!! Write that there will be a surprise or something like that, without any details. It's the best when you watch Weathering with you and that comes out as a surprise, you ruin it if you tell her
Weathering With You takes place before they reunite and Mitsuha is definitely NOT pregnant

I loveee this movie! If you're into watching other Anime movies, I recommend another one that's emotional and more "realistic" called Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice). Just watch it blind, it's GORGEOUS.
Ps: about the renting problem, I'd watch it using any "alternative" way and when it becomes avaible again for purchase I'd get it later)

I feel you can't call yourself human and not have some sort of feelings at the end of this film. If you don't you may not have a soul. I know it brought tears to this jaded sixty year old man's eyes. And still does everytime I watch it.

Sorry but this film is far better in the original Japanese (with subs) than in English. It was difficult for me to even listen to the English version of the title song; knowing how much the original Japanese version got to me.

gurl it's completely on you but i'd recommend you to watch these stuff in original with subtitles...coz it hits harder in the original languages....
The english dub for ths one is cring eand it sucks, My Hero Academia has a really good dub, but this one is legit straight up so bad. You should watch all anime on subs, The japanese voice actors do a really good job.
