Hank played so many playoff games and game 7s and OT games. He literally willed those teams to later rounds and a finals. He was special and 100% was GREAT.

Shesterkin might be more skilled than Lundqvist, but Lundqvist had this insane will, crazy competitiveness, work ethic, consistency. He put the team on his back every night season after season. 60+ starts a year. He turned the switch on especially from the All Star break and onward, willed these teams to just make it into the Playoffs. In the era of Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Backstrom, Giroux, Marchand, Bergeron, dominant way more talented teams. Behind a less talented defense corp (McDonagh became great but is not an all star). And always had to keep the goal count low, never had an all star center or goal scorer. 30+ Playoff Overtime games.

The Rangers have been blessed with elite goaltending over the years, but the King is the best. His teams weren't nearly as balanced as this one, with the possible exception of its grittiness on the blue line. But the game has changed. The passing exhibited by this current team is just breathtaking. It's so good that it's almost a weakness because all their guys are unselfish, case in point Mika the other night dropping it off when he's on the doorstep of a playoff hat trick.
