Shit not me. I thought getting rid of ryan strome was paramount to the rangers getting better and taking that next step. When i found out Trochek was the guy to replace him & at close to the price strome was going to command on the open market I thought it was the best possible upgrade for the team and system that was imagined. Hes been as advertised and so much more. Strome couldnt hold trochek's jock strap...

Even before last night he did but that just sealed up his legacy and jersey retirement into the rafters. He is like Jeter was to the Yankees minus the rings(yet). Home grown, Pure consistency year in and year out, Largely healthy, and comes up big when it counts most! LGR!

I was that kid in the early '80's. When the Islanders began their dynasty and Had a vezina tier goalie in Billy Smith, and we had Eddie Mio, basically an Andersen type goalie. Had flashes of brilliance, but always allowed a soft goal.
that is a huge difference when a team has an all star great goalie, I dont know who started it , but when these tall goalie cannot get their leg and side totally flush against a post on a shot from in the corner or wrap around,and have a space for jamming it in THats a big weakness . Kreids just pushed it in and Ryan lingren had a great feed on the winner tap IN goal

I was definitely melting last night in the second. I wasnât texting people stuff like that but I had lost hope. I get where boomer is coming from, but he was a professional athlete and old enough to see NY win the cup. Some of us have just been let down year after year with no memory or idea of what it is like to win. How can we know how to act when we have never experienced winning lol?

Even the "collapse" in 2022 against Tampa didn't feel at all like a collapse to me at the time because they'd overachieved by just making the ECF. Now, we feel more entitled to wins because they've been a strong team three seasons now...

This whole "I was right all along" thing is garbage. They didn't skate worth shit the first two periods and even Kreider thought he was Jagr and was attempting drop passes instead of getting the thing on net against that chump of a goalie like he was supposed to. I'm glad they straightened things out and played their game in the 3rd and won decisively, but after the way they absolutely quit last year, any fan that saw them ducking the boards had the right to dismiss them.

Matinooks play is way overrated. He was already down on the ice sliding and he happened to get to the net at the right time. It's not like he made a tremendous effort knowing the puck was through his goalie and heading in.
Stop mate, that play was THE play of the playoffs hands down. I am a Rangers fan, and have been since the 78'79 season when the Habs beat us during their dynasty. and that play was the play that convinced me we were going to lose this game.
