- Star Wars The Acolyte will have a huge Clone Wars and Ahsoka influence according to Leslye Headland and a connection to 'The Wrong Jedi'. We also look at a Star Wars theory that connects to the prequel trilogy and Yoda in The Phantom Menace.

20 Days To Go! ❤ May the force be with you today and always!
May the Force be with you, Supreme Megalorian.
May the force be with you to Meg. I lost hope in Disney so I ain’t watching acolyte.
The Force is with you and with us, always!
It is the Will of the Force to kick out a few weeds(toxicfans)from the Flower patch. I’m looking forward to the show. We need something different and to get away from the Skywalkers already!
Mother Talzin
I'm still optimistic about this show. It sounds very interesting.
I believe this series will surprise many fans.
0:41 doesn’t have to necessarily be the lighting tho, it is well known that during the High Republic era many Jedi had unconventional lightsaber colors we don’t see made during the prequel era, this was because the Jedi of the time weren’t as dogmatic and strict when it came to the rules. The best example I can think of is Terra Sinubae who was alive during the high republic and his lightsaber as we see in TCW series has a whiteish blue color. Even yellow lightsabers were really common during this time too.
This director just can't win! The last take of many people was that she hated Star Wars. Now she loves it too much?
Oh, it must be that and not the fact that she is pushing anti-white, anti-male, pro-LGBT crap into Star Wars.
Hedland does not know Star Wars. She knows her queerness and Star Wars had a large platform to push that queerness out to the target age groups. Watch her interviews, listen to her words and stop pretending that she can achieve anything good.
I for one get less nervous of writer/directors saying they want to reference something in their show/movie then I do when they say they've never seen anything at all and want to do their own thing...
Your points on the adding of easter eggs just for the sake of some wish list are absolutely accurate. We need to see the relevance. It is nice to see some call backs of course but the connections to the projects is what really matters. Fans want to see the whole Star Wars timeline and universe connected.
I hope they do it justice 'cos there is so much to connect this story to and we are getting a much better perspective on the Jedi as being much more complex than any of the films woud have any of us believe.
The clone wars, Rebels, Ahsoka, and other titles have explained the role of the Jedi in a much more nuanced way. They were both victims and villains.
Used by the Sith lord to carry out evil believing to be good.
They were fooled into being cult members even as they indoctrinated people into their own cult.
THe Wrong Jedi was a pivotal episode as it represented a junction in Ahsoka's life.
She had to leave and she did.
She also wanted to come back and see Anakin.
She was minutes away from doing sop and could possibly been there to pull him away from the Chancellor.
She had saved him and returned him to the light on more then one occasion.
He had broken the rules to reanimate her - she knew she could ahve somehow helped him avoid the destiny in prophesy.
Worst case - she was the only one who could possibly have killed him to save the universe - a conviction she had obviously come to in Ahsoka season 1.
She was trying to get Sabine to accept leaving Ezra out in another galaxy with no way home - for the sake of all those lives in the galaxy.
NONE of this nuance is in the movies. In the movies the force is good or bad. There is no Bendu who is neither good nor bad, neither dark nor exclusively light.
I hope the Acolyte gives us a chance to see some of this Force based nuance in live action form.
Andor has done that the best so far along with Ahsoka and the Mandalorian.
I wish them luck and can't wait to see it.
Gotta say - your videos are just the best for keeping up with what is going on in Star Wars.
There are many other players in this space but yours are interesting, intimate, personal and just the musings of a fan. You are involved, removed and honest. Your loyalty seems to be to the story and our enjoyment of it rather than some dogmatic position about what MUST or MUST NOT be.
That is so accessible and for me a real difference.
Of course there is the matter of your deliberate and unique delivery which is out of this world.
I dig it.
So very much!!
Looking forward to more.
I don't know if it's Headland's error, or the person who wrote the article, but she didn't "run the gambit" -- she ran "the gamut."
You are the sum of your experiences. If you don't enjoy something, it's a waste of time to immerse yourself in it.
It's Acolytin' time!
Thanks Meg! This is the Way!
I will watch and make my own decisions about it. Thanks, Meg.😊👍
Interesting commentary Meg. Thanks.
Thanks Meg! 🙏🏼
Another great breakdown! I think it's fine to base certain shots, scenes, or storylines on past shows or movies similar ones. If Star Wars fans love anything, it's nostalgia. Plus, it keeps things grounded if something appears to be going in an "original" line of thinking. Leslie, unfortunately, is at a point now where, no matter what she says, she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. I think she's going to do a great job.
Great commentary!
Thanks Meg👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🌺
Ahsoka on the thumbnail made me think there would be some prophecy with the chosen showing some Togruta in some old drawing somewhere within this show.....That would be cool though
That is a very handsome looking Wookie.
I’m looking forward to it not going to lie. I have a good feeling
I think the Jedi will mistakenly kill the innocent twin and then cover it up. That is why no one knows about the Sith later.
I'm looking forward to having a story that doesn't rely on any other content to enjoy it. I don't think it'll be an entry point for new viewers, but it'll be nice not to have a plot line get gobbled up to tie up a loose thread from another show (aka Mando S2). Andor is like that to some extent - yes, it's a prequel to a prequel, but it doesn't have some side tangent involving Mandalore.
This series is going to rock.
I’m totally looking forward to The acolyte & what is coming when that show drops 👏🏾
I also have no issue with a total story reboot & a stray away from the canon entirely as long as the story is good , well written & put together then it don’t matter to me 🤷🏾♂️✅.
I’m also mad happy that we get to see the Jedi depicted as “Villains” because in my eyes I always saw them that way due to how they act , how they conduct themselves & how they carry themselves & that’s that.
I really like this channel.
we have to see what the series brings us. I have mixed feelings about this due to all of what I have heard, so I am on the list of wait and see what we get
I hope that they will surprise us
I am hoping the sister angle is a misdirect - that's a pretty big twist in the story to be so out there in the open.
Yeah you will be surprised you forgot that disney does bait and switch lol
Oops, I stumbled into the imbecile zone…
Zip it lil bro 😂🙏🙏
I completely agree - fan-service for its own sake is never good. If you’re telling a good SW story it should naturally end up with SW references.
I'm not worried about Headland putting stuff like a cantina in because she has the chance. It's a whole TV season, so there's plenty of time to range all over the place. I think from the trailers that things like that aren't even shown. Or aren't the focus.
Meg is the perfect woman... she can talk Star Wars all day..lol just kidding around
Big fan here. I always appreciate your content. It's always well said and positive.
Keep up the great work, Meg!
I’m going to give The Acolyte a chance, I really hope it surprises us in more ways than one. I’m cautiously optimistic at the moment.
The Jedi Wookiee is Chewbacca’s father. He will havre a love child with the force and tell his baby walking carpet in Episode 8, “Chewy, I am YOUR father!” Just like empire strikes back. It will tie the entire Star Wars universe together and make everyone happy.
Star wars is for kids. Some people want to make it dark. Star wars stories only work when they are made for 12 year olds. George new this... Star wars is for all the kid in us....that's why we love it
My theory is that the witches are trying to destroy the Jedi Order because they monopolize the use of the force. That's why they manipulate the twins and make an alliance with the Sith. Mother Aniseya knows the Sith Order is capable of ruining the Jedi Order.
I’ve got a bad feeling about this.
Utidiiiiiii 😊🎉❤ !!! And may i add, i enjoy seeing the poor wounded ❄️❄️❄️ in the comments. "If i dont get my way" and "wokeness...". Im to old for this nonsense
great commentary
With the powers and temption of The Force, I am not sure once someone is trained with the force would just be allowed to leave the order. In the original trilogy I was under the impression it did not happen. I thought there was originally the udea, a Jedi that was train leaving the order could become a sith. That was how I understood it in the years after the original trilogy.
George Lucas included Count Dooku himself as a primary character. Dooku was a Jedi Master who left the order and ended up joining the Sith, so certainly Jedi Padawans (Ahsoka) and Jedi Knights (Anakin) would have left the order along the way as well.
@StarWarsSanta yeah, I think they made it far to easy to leave the order.
I do not recall him in the original trilogy think there was far too much time between the prequels and the trilogy for the story to be cohesive. @@StarWarsSanta
@@marknovak6498 I'm not a Prequel defender. Lucas added all kinds of stuff in the Prequels that countered what we saw in the OT, and he put us on this path of questioning the Jedi order's rules and regulations. Nevertheless, here we are and now we see all kinds of opportunities for stories of force users who have different paths than the simple Jedi or Sith.
ROGER, ROGER.
Oh
You need to vet the adverts on your channel, the content itself is excellent, no complaints but to allow the Rewave product advert to be played during your videos is a mistake
Why what happened?
@@nx1379 rewave is a scam, it doesn’t do anything that is claimed in the ad, it’s just a signal booster
I don't think content creators have much say over what commercials play. I'm pretty sure that's determined by an algorithm and I'm pretty sure different people see different ads.
@@anthonymarcello1265 that may well be the case but they must have some control and st least be able to request an ad not be played
@@lyndondavies5041 Nope. I have absolutely no say in what ads play on my vids either.
Young fans are spoiled... Us old fans, those that have been there since the beginning, know that any new Star Wars is better than no new Star Wars.
I would rather have mo star wars instead of the crap that disney had put out, and I’m an old fan from the 80’s
@@Runningbaldmanno one is forcing you to watch it..
@@wolfcraft45707 i dont
@@Runningbaldman then why are you complaining abt the new content if you don’t even watch it 😭
@@wolfcraft45707 b/c if it were good I would watch it. Seems obvious to me
This sounds like a rip off of George Lucas’s version of a new Star Wars movie. We’re the twins of Han and Leia one goes dark.
So Leslie Headland is pro-Sith, pro-Nightsister, and clearly anti-Jedi.
I’m having more and more of a bad feeling about this show.
Fans are the worse! I’m a fan. So many fans have destroyed great shows. I’m thankful for anything on the air. Good bad indifferent I’ll watch it. Go up a tree if ya don’t like it.
I don’t want to watch _Wannabe Chani_ in this Star Wars where the force is just an on/off power. No channeling, no mysticism, no surprises.
It’s just force, force, force where it’s just too forced and no longer worth investing in the franchise.
Nah, God I want it to be good. But I fear it’s comic book material.
Palpatine was the real hero of Star Wars. He was 100% right about the Jedi.
Jedi abducted children and forced them to be part of their Force cult. The Jedi had to be destroyed. I would gleefully turn Jedi over to the Empire
Whereas the space Nazis you'd turn the Jedi in to kidnapped and medically experimented on Force Sensitive kids. And did the same to anyone who tried to protect those kids.
Oh, straight up murdered the clone kids that lived past Order 66, whereas Jedi tried to protect them.
You lack any sense of moral proportion.😮
I'm not sure how to take this woman's statement. Didn't she boast she knew nothing of SW? Was unfamiliar with the movies? Now she has a wish list?
No. She said she was hiring crew members who watched Star Wars for the first time recently
@cael4065 God I hope so
I know some people have been hyperfixating on the term Acolyte and associating it with the Sith then complaining that it breaks the canon rule of two and/or that introducing a Sith at this time retcons what Ki-Adi Mundi said about the Sith being extinct for a millennia in TPM. But I think we should step back. Disney era Lucasfilm has been pulling back from the Sith/Jedi binary for a while now and pushed that point heavily in the sequels. So perhaps we're not looking at a "Sith" Acolyte. But an Acolyte to the dark side in general. And maybe even an Acolyte to The Son of Mortis (wishful thinking I'm sure but would line up with what's happening in Ahsoka on Peridea). Thus not having to actually retcon the rule of two and Ki-Adi Mundi's statement.
As an orogina fan I was very hurt when I heard the news ‘the real face of the jedi will be revealed. I’m sorry dod the Ukrane invade Russis? It backstabs one of the cornerstones of my youth and one of my alltime hero. And stating there are no strong female heroes in the franchise. If you will make us believe you’re a fan that’s blasfemy where I stand. I have feighy words Padmé, Leia, Ahsoka, please get a job outside lucasfilm. And don’t waste money of true fans and visioners as dave and jon. Robbert from holland
I dunno Meg, Leslye Headland's previous comments make it sound like she just wants to use Star Wars as a loudspeaker for her activist viewpoints. If she can do this without being too obvious or breaking immersion good for her, but it fills me with trepidation--story needs to take precedence over message or else the show will feel too preachy and not be any fun. (plus no one will watch it U_U; )
You know what my biggest concern about this show is, Meg? That it will be good. Yes, I know what I said. Don't get me wrong, I love a good series and I was very happy when Andor, the Bad Batch or The Mandalorian turned out to have an interesting, well-written story, characters, etc. But The Acolyte is something else. You can already see that it has woke, queerness and feminism in it, just like most of today's pseudo-film crap, e.g. from Marvel. If by some miracle it turns out to be a good show despite these progressive ideologies, it will give Disney and the corporations the green light to force more wokeness and "progressiveness" into our lives. The success of "The Acolyte" will let them know that what they are doing is paying off. And they will do more of it.
"Why should we care if these movies are good," some people will say, and they're partially right. But do we really want to allow ourselves to be fed with this progressive fodder of diversity, inclusivity and pseudo-tolerance that they force on us, even if the cover is palatable?
Do we want our children to grow up in this new world?
Brothers and sisters, let's fight for ours together. This is our life and our tomorrow. Pop culture should be for people, for the majority, and not for small groups separated from the rest of society. Let's protest against woke. Do you remember Eurovision from years ago? When what mattered was singing, not rainbows. Do you remember movies from years ago? When story, plot, and character believability mattered, rather than diversity and representation? When cgi was better than in today's big budget Marvel productions?
LET'S FIGHT FOR THE HEROES OF OUR CHILDHOOD
And just to be clear, I'm not a misogynist or whatever they call it. I love women as much as I love all other people. I was raised by my mother and grandmother, I grew up watching strong cinematic women from Star Wars such as Padme, Leia and Ahsoka. I also have nothing against black people, although I saw my first one live when I was 15 (I live in a small town in Poland), I was raised by strong black people like Lando and Mace Windu.
All of us, regardless of gender, race or sexuality, should unite as Star Wars fans against Disney's woke ideology. They are the ones who create divisions between us, dressing them in beautiful slogans of equality and tolerance.
I am writing all of this because I see more and more voices in my environment supporting the actions of large corporations like Disney. Mainly among young people, from the turn of the generation z and alpha and younger. What terrifies me is that the dark side is winning. But together we will stand up to them and I believe that in a few years we will overcome this ridiculous culture war and return to the golden era of pop culture.
The mission, the nightmares, will finally be over.
That's it from me. Hang in there, fellow geeks
Bring on the progressivism, says this 40-something geek. The new shows (and books and comics) have been great, and I'm sure the Acolyte will be too.
Sucks to be a dinosaur
@@notmephisto1375
How pathetic of you to resort to insults.
Look at you, enlightened Gen Z internet user defending the woke ideology in Disney movies. I guess your extensive knowledge of social justice comes from scrolling through Twitter for 10 minutes. But who needs cultural context and critical thinking when you can just call someone a dinosaur? Sorry, I forgot you guys are too woke to have rational discussions
If there is a Jedi, i think he/she must probably be with the Palestinians freedom fighter in their fight against the Empire..
Just a different perspective..
Think about it..
no.
So Headland just rehashed a Clone Wars episode? 🤷🏻♂️
Of, Leslie headland can only copy an episode. Because she doesn't have a clue about star wars. I give it 3 episode
Yeah g'day
Let's use someone else's storyline instead of creating your own story, I still have NO confidence in this at all. It is beginning to sound like the DWU cannibalizing itself to progress nowhere with no clear idea or aims.
Yes, I will watch it with several slabs of beer and a couple of bottles of Gin to nullify the pain.
It's a goodnight from you and it's a goodnight from the broken, cantankerous, belligerent, obnoxious, obstinate, obstreperous, cynical Old Fart
You are really trying to build excitement for this show Meg. If this show isn’t good I may have to unsub Meg. Just can’t allow people to get my hopes up and I get crushed again. Too many times to count.
You people whine to much 😵💫
It’s made by Harvey Weinstein personal assistant of 4 years, Meg is a radical leftist, of course she’d defend it. This is going to flop
@@XandetheXande Yeah, because if these shows continue to fail you will be the one whinning about why we don't get anymore star wars shows or movies anymore. These shows/movies are just not making enough money to keep making them. That simple simp.
How dare you threaten to unsub. If you don't like it, but Meg does, does that make her wrong? Sub for the content and hard work put into the channel, not for like-minded opinions.
Getting your hopes up and then being crushed? What about the rest of us? What about those of us that are true Star Wars fans having to listen to you wine endlessly unnecessarily because you didn’t get what YOU wanted? Something you feel you are so entitled to have that you would threaten someone if you don’t get it. You’re a joke. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Sorry, won’t be watching Star Woke: The Crapolyte. Leslie Big Blockhead land has already made it trash by being assigned to the project. Why do u think all those trailers were ratioed? Every one knows this will be trash, and no amount of EU material will save it.
I'd be willing to bet money she never has watched a full episode of the Clone Wars
