Son Goku, born Kakarot, is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball metaseries. Goku is a Saiyan male originally sent to destroy Earth as an infant. However, a head injury at an early age alters his memory, ridding him of his initial destructive nature and allowing him to grow up to become one of Earth's greatest defenders. He constantly strives and trains to be the greatest warrior possible, which has kept the Earth and the universe safe from destruction many times.

Slight correction, Goku was sent to earth not to destroy life on it, but to stay safe as clarified and shown in DBS Broly and DB Minus. His aggression most likely was due to being taken away from his parents, though if he didn’t hit his head he would still be more aggressive and less merciful than we know him today

Wow! Just this one part and we're only scratching the surface. It's incredible. ✨ Having recently come back to the Dragon Ball franchise, it's amazing how Goku was just a sweet little boy who lived in the mountains when the world first laid eyes on him. 💕 Then he became a world hero when he was still a child in the original Dragon Ball. And would then become one of the greatest heroes in the universe as an adult in Dragon Ball Z and beyond. And now he's practically a demigod that even gods can't help but respect, and yet throughout his lifelong journey, he's still his old cheerful self. It's no wonder Goku's so beloved!

You know that in the manga and original japanese version of DBZ the line is "IT'S OVER 8000!!!" the 9000 was only in the english dubs made by Funimation

Fun fact: Son Goku was supposed to look like a monkey child in the early designs of Dragon Ball. 🐒
Also his hair is based off of Astro boy and his name is a pun on sun wukong the monkey king(or boy I forgot)
He is based off of sun wukong almost entirely (at least in dragon ball (not dbz or dbs)) I mean he could fly on clouds carried around a pole as his main weapon is a MONKE has a rag tag gang of 4 others that he met along the adventure and both go up against opponents that use weird and wacky ability’s

Bro, it’s canon that bardock sent goku to earth to save him, except it’s also canon that he was sent there to destroy the planet, except I think raditz thought that he was sent there to destroy the planet, because bardock didn’t say anything about sending him there to destroy the planet, Toriyama really made this very confusing. I think at first, toriyama wanting to make goku sent to earth to save him and have him destroy the planet. except then he wanted to change it, by having bardock send him there to save him without having to destroy it. Again, Toriyama make this very confusing
i think Raditz only thought that Goku was sent to destroy Earth, while in reality Bardock sent him to Earth to save him.
Yeah and the Other World Tournament Saga technically never happened because it was non canon filler that was only in the anime

When goku was sent to planet earth raditz was offworld with prince vegeta on a mission so raditz wouldn't have known about his parent's intentions for sending goku away
All raditz knew was that goku was born with a weak pl and in saiyan culture they send those weak babies to weak worlds to conquer them
