Now Goku must go with his granddaughterm Pan, and Vegeta's son, Trunks, to find the mysterious Black Star Dragon Balls before the planet explodes! But an evil plot to kill the saiyans and take over Earth is set in motion, as the evil Baby takes over Vegeta... Dragon Ball GT is WEIRD! Despite the controversial and sometimes more negative opinions fans have on this show, I'll always love it, even the black star dragon ball saga. I found it to be a lot of fun overall and lets not forget how it gave us SSJ4, which is one of my favourite transformations in the entire series. So I'll always be grateful for all the good this series has done. Great video as usual

Watching it on toonami back in the day was lit for me I fully enjoyed the series...I remember a few people here n there on forums saying that GT sucked then all of a sudden u see it on yt and then that was it every one all of a sudden hated it
@macktruck8331 yeah thats what's confusing me, I'm kind of a new fan, went a bit backwards, so I've watched super and I'm like 120 odd episodes into Z (trunks has just cut mecha-frieza in half) is GT Canon? Like something I need to watch? I've heard it's like an alt universe, but obviously pilaf and stuff are kids in super again, then Pan is a baby somewhere in super, which is set further from the buu saga right?

One thing i will always love about GT is the fact this actually feels like the original Dragonball, where Z felt like a whole other show GT captures that kid friendly adventure vibe
When I was just a kid, I didn't understand much English but 'Dragon Ball Z' was close to my heart. Pretending to fly high and blasting Kamehamehas filled my days.

Hercule standing up to Great Ape Baby while every other Saiyan is down knowing he has no chance just to try to protect his granddaughter was the highlight of the whole GT for me. He wasn't a hero because of circumstances, Hercule deserves to be known as the world's bravest man.
GT is so underrated. It was the perfect ending to dragon ball. I was crying by the end of this video.
I watched this after Toriyama passed, this is one of the greatest videos ever, even if its not intended to be a goodbye, i'd say it fits way better. Good bye Goku san, goodbye Toriyama sensei.

GT was my childhood. But never had a chance to watch it. My friend always telling me the story of GT, drawing for me Super 17, Baby. When im a bit older i tried to find GT to watch but i got stuck in work and forgotten about it. Thx to this vid i can go thru whole GT in an hour

DBZ, DBS then finally DBGT. Although GT is more or less a "Grand side story" stated by the late Akira Toriyama-sensei himself.

@bigzoinks93 Nothing specific really, it's just a strange juxtaposition of zany behavior/antics and serious moments that I just thought felt strange coming from watching DB and DBZ. But don't let that stop you from watching it yourself I still recommend it to any DragonBall fan 😉

Back when GT aired I started watching it but dropped a bit into Baby's arch because I never really got invested in GT as a whole. I remained curious about some of the stuff there but never went back to watching it, and I'm loving this video as it has great cuts and a good synthesis of the story. I'm more invested in this than I remeber being in GT back then xD Thank you for this and congrats on the great work.

I’ll never forget buying a VHS from this Comic Shop that had the first few episodes of Dragon Ball GT in Japanese with English subtitles. Bootleg but this was before DVDs were even a thing. Think a paid like 30 for it too lmao definitely got hustled.

53:17 I understand Goku’s internal struggle, he doesn’t want to hurt his own granddaughter. I can’t imagine what would happen if he decided to sacrifice Pan’s life in order to defeat Naturon Shenron, he would have to explain to Gohan and Videl what happened and then revive Pan after all is said and done.
I cried when gt ended i was only 9 so many years later it still hits me in the feels. Until we meet again and we did meet again when i was a grown adult with db super. People hate on super but honestly i needed to see goku and friends again

The spamming of the Kamehameha and lack of actual combat during most the fights is a huge turn off.

Cheers man, I remember how hard this show was to find outside of NZ in the 00's. Never got to watch it in full, cheers for the speedrun.
I remember when I first seen it in the early 2000s on the Syfy channel it aired at 4:00am so I couldn't watch all of it because I had school but I remember being blown away because I was watching DBZ on Toonami in the afternoon after school homework.
@@jz1612 In NZ to watch DBZ, we shared a television network with Australia called SKY. There was a channel called Cartoon Network, that eventually became shared with Nickelodeon that aired during the day. DBZ was aired in the Toonami slot, but at 1am, so I used to book the show through the sky UHF decoder unit and set the VCR to record at a specified time slop. Ild then dub it over to another tape to take the ad breaks out but noticed loss in quality as I used Long Play. I dont think GT aired here? DBS definitely did.

Amazing video. Love the attention to detail. GT may have had poor execution but man the Baby saga and Shadow Dragon sagas are so much better than anything in the anime Super has produced villian and story wise.

I think my favorite explanation of the ending ive heard was that Goku did actually die but was granted the wish of being able to save his planet before his death which is why after the battle shenron comes for Goku
