I ended up buying an Epic. It took me around 5-6 hours to get used to the paddle coming from an Onix Z5. But it was not like flipping a switch, it's been gradual. That said I now love the paddle big time.
That’s awesome to hear! It definitely takes a couple of sessions to get used to it. But I am glad that you’re enjoying it. The feel is very different from other paddles, but once you get used to the paddle it’s super fun to play with.
Awesome vid man, thanks.
Of course, glad you enjoyed it!
What i wish for is the slightly longer handle added to the epic paddle. Makes it better for two handed backhand.
That makes sense, I don’t use a two handed backhand very much in my game. Definitely something I have to develop, and I can definitely see where you’re coming from.
I play with the S2, and this paddle gives me so much power and spin on my ground strokes - it is unbelievable.
That's awesome, I think the S2 and the epic are much more similiar. The Invikta is just a really difficult paddle to get used to. The lack of control is no joke, I really like the feel of a paddle with a larger sweet spot.
Same question for you, depending on how long have you played with it: have you noticed any spin/grit loss? I've heard the life on the grit is very short.
i can't make up my mind about the Epic or the S2. what made both of you choose the epic over the S2 and vise versa?
@@jakewoodisgood1 Hey Jake that is a great questions, I think it really just depends on what type of game you're looking to play. The S2 will have a slightly larger sweet spot than the epic, so if you're looking for more forgiveness that is where I would go. I feel like the epic still has a great amount of forgiveness while still delivering on power hence why I chose it.
What do you mean by forgiveness?
Just an fyi the grips on the INVIKTA and the Epic are same exact length 5 1/4 inch
Thanks for the info, I think it just feels different due to the taper of the throat. I also had an over grip on both the paddles so that could’ve impacted my feel.
Epic is 5.25 and Invikta is 5.35, according to Selkirk’s site
How long have you been playing with it? Have you noticed any spin/grit loss? I've heard the life on the grit is very short.
I have been playing twice a week for the last month and a half with the paddle, so it is still pretty new. I do feel like there is a slight decrease put nothing substantial at the moment. And I feel like that slight decrease could be all in my head. We will see what happens with a bit more time.
Hi, great video, I was thinking of getting the power air epic, I have an epic now, not the power air. I saw a video on the legacy pro. Do you have an opinion on the two?
I have not tried the Legacy Pro, but I have heard a lot of good things about it. I think the price point that they have it at is a great deal for what you get. So I can’t really make a comparison, but I would be super interested to try the paddle out. If you end up getting it let me know what you think🤙🏽
The legacy has a more durable surface, so expect the spin to last for longer. Power wise they are similar and the legacy is better for control.
@@dychax707 Thank you for the information, sounds like I need to get my hands on the legacy and try it out!
How is the surface holding up? Saw some videos talking about certain paddles losing their spin potential relatively quickly.
So for it is still holding up, I only play once a week. So I think the paddle will last me a good while, but I have heard the same thing as well. I am guessing if you are someone that plays more frequently you would see the paddle break in and loose some potential . I don’t know how much you would be able to notice though unless you are putting it through a lot of testing. But again, that’s just my opinion.
I play almost 7 days a week a month later it’s still perfect
Why do you like it better than the Joola?
I got the Joola just a few weeks ago, so I haven't been able to really get used to it. I have played a couple games with it but still need more time to get used to it. I will be releasing a video in the future comparing the 2, so stay tuned! But I do really like the feel and touch of the Joola!
How does it compare to the gearbox pro power?
You know, that is a great question. I have never played with a gear box so I wouldn’t have any input. I have heard a lot of good things about gearbox though.
Ah ok, thanks for your reply!
