Little tip for xp farmers using this build. If you have a zombie spawner place a sign on the block above the hopper and then water above that sign. If you wait about a minute all your zombies will be drowned and have better loot/xp.
Will converting them to drowned result in trident as loot?
@@stewartcollins948 Been using it for a long time and haven't got any. Maybe with a looting 3 sword? Worth the exp anyways.
dont they die?
You can put out the campfire and put a bucket of water 2 blocks above the campfire and it works perfectly to turn the zombies into drowned. Cool thing about zombies turning into drowned is that they drop their armor and weapons/equipment. A lot of them drop with full durability too which is really nice
@@stewartcollins948 Only drowned that spawn with a trident have a chance to drop it. These will not
You can also incorporate powder snow into the skeleton spawner farm so they can transform into strays and get better loot. You just need a cobweb underneath the powder snow block so the skeletons can stay long enough to become strays.
The saviour has spoken
What an incredible idea!
@@austin7413 use two powdered snow and two cobwebs to make this work. (Snow, web, snow, web)
Incorporate a water source block to convert zombies into Drowned and gain from both loot tables.
Wait how do you do this
You can put out a campfire with a shovel, and re-light it with flint and steel. That way, the campfire can act the same way as a slab when put out, so you can kill at your leisure, and you can light it back up to return it to being an auto-loot farm.
Nice thanks
Great, thanks for letting me know. I'll do just that.
Bro is smart
I just let my xp farm build up until entity cramming kills them. Works fine for longer sessions. Obviously takes a bit longer to get running
Does that work on soul campfires too?
I used this tutorial to build an xp farm at a zombie spawner I found really close to my base. I also used comments to turned it into a "drowned farm," so thanks for all the tips in the comments. As I kept playing, I eventually got the resources to cure zombie villagers, so I went back at night, waited for one to spawn, cured him and let him out. He apparently linked to a brewing stand in my base and turned into a cleric with ridiculously low prices (1 emerald = 1 ender pearl, 1 emerald = 1 bottle of enchanting, etc...) So I decided to give him a bed and named him "Tim" after a character in Monty Python's The Holy Grail. Now he just lives down there. It's kind of awesome. Thanks for the tutorial.
IV also got a survival world with a zombie mob spawner near my base and the mob spawner close to the surface going to try this when I get home from work
Did not know about the 16 block distance from spawner or the 120 mob cap. That explains a few past problems I've had.
Love the simple & straight forward info you give.
Your Welcome!
Yeah the 16 block distance is important if you find multiple dungeons nearby. On my current SMP I got lucky and have a Zombie + Skeleton double grinder at my base. I could always go to the end and user the enderman farm but for quick mending repairs I like having my own + I get tons of zombie flesh for trading with my cleric villager.
Does this mean I should light the cave around the spawner for maximum efficiency?
@@Eyecraftmc does making 16 block distance from the spawner increase the spawn rate??
@@barrymuffin the spawner is only active if you are standing within 16 blocks of it.
Just a recommendation
Put a redstone lamp on the ceiling of mob spawner XP farm,so you can just turn on the lamp if you want to make the XP farm stop spawning mob then you can just turn off the light again if you needed it again
But why
I just made this farm. I added this idea for the aesthetic and it looks nice lol. It was also a little useful while I was renovating the place. It stopped the zombies from “uugh”-ing the whole time. (I know you can disable hostile mob noises, but I like to leave those options alone.)
Just started playing minecraft again after like 9 years, and your channel is by far my favorite for learning how to do things in recent updates!
Your information is always up to date and accurate, as well as you are great at easily explaining/showing things!
I never miss a video of yours now - Always something to learn!
Ditto! Learning so much that I have missed
I play it again and across versions after 11
Edit: but kept up with updates through compilations on YT
Dungeons always spawn partially exposed to air, so caving through new areas is 100% the best way to find them!
I've always wondered if I would ever just find a dungeon buried in the ground like you can with an Amethyst Geode. Thank you for clearing this up.
@@FFgamesftw nah i don't think, well from my experience, no
Cap I found a dungeon covered in cobblestone when I went into spectator on a copy of my word
Or you can use chunkbase (I know)
@@ReyezReaper13 Ayo me too
Little note for players using this build. If you use the automatic version it still grants loot but does not drop XP
You just gotta sit and slay 😢
Just use a trident killer instead of the campfire you can fully afk.
@@extra_everythinhard
can you do 4 blocks from the spawner going vertically?
Another good thing is that if the farm area is the only hospitable place around for the mobs to spawn you will get other random mobs in addition to the spawner mob on occasion. I was doing this with zombies and got really surprised when creeper legs showed up.
You can make the killing chamber a bit lower, so skeletons take more damage, and you can kill them faster. Also you can use sweeping edge , combined with sharpness 5 on your sword to kill every skeleton in just two hits.
Be careful because you have to be within 16 block of the spawner for it to work.
As always, a great video! :) Those help me in my own MC-World, giving me ideas and also improving existing structures.
Happy to help!
You can put out the campfire and put a bucket of water 2 blocks above the campfire and it works perfectly to turn the zombies into drowned. Cool thing about zombies turning into drowned is that they drop their armor and weapons/equipment. A lot of them drop with full durability too which is really nice. I believe this method works better considering that the campfire actually causes you to get less exp or none at all even if you hit the mobs
Is this true?
Camp fire causes to skeleton to drop less xp even if i hit them?
@@akshattandon5272i tried it, yes
Glad you made this video, I remember looking up mob spawner designs and none of them really explained it clearly and concise enough, but here I understand the exact use of every block broken or placed!
Lol wasn't expecting to see you here. I always assumed you were just the Touhou man
I was waiting for this! I have saved all my spawners for a good vid like this, thank you eyecraft!
I myself like using soul sand water elevators to raise up skeletons to a 22 block fall height so that they are guaranteed to be one shot, it adds much more complexity to the farm but I find it well worth the trouble.
For a spider spawner you need a minimum 2x2 tunnel for them to flow better and you need fence posts placed diagonally at the end kill chamber.
FYI all, if you did not know cave spiders are smaller, and more poisonous.
Does it not work at all with 1x1?
@@Evil_This nope I just built it sadly it needs a 2x2
Made only 1 water slide 2x2 no corner at the end and they flow fine, no fence needed
Thanks a TON this method will help me and my old lady out a lot!! We finally found a spawner and built it on our survival world and can’t thank you enough. Subscriber for life.
I finally found a zombie spawner today and this was the first video I’ve watched that was easy and well explained that I felt I could pull off. I finished my project and it’s working great! Just wanted to say thanks :)
I used this to make my first spawner farm! Super clear and easy to follow. Thank you for the video! :D
I just now found my first monster spawner and didn't expect to find 2 groups of Dimond ores hiding beneath it. So glad I came across this video because I wasn't sure what to make of this thing. 🤘🏽
Dude! This is actually way better then the ones I watched thank you so much!
I love your videos, they make me feel like even *I* can tackle something like this! :)
watched your 1.18 nether vid earlier and came back to see this; v easy to follow and great design. have a sub 👍
I think most people know this, but if you integrate some powdered snow and a cobweb in just the right way, you can convert all of the skeletons to strays so they drop tipped arrows of slowness.
Also, if all you’re worried about is XP, one of the best things you can find are two cave spider spawners next to eachother in an abandoned mineshaft. If you build the chamber right, you can rake in the XP easy.
can you tell a step by step on where to put the blocks at???
its also basically unlimited emeralds as all the string can be sold to fletcher villagers too
Thanks for the tutorial it was quick, simple and to the point
hey there I just found your channel and its absolutely great! I subbed immediately. I was wondering if you could do an overview video of exp farms available, comparing which gives the most exp compared to the difficulty building? Keep up the great work, hope you get all the subs that you deserve!
This worked so well! I love your MC vids because you don't scream and treat your audience like they're 5. I feel like I can actually learn something, so thank you for creating!!
Tip for spiders. Use their climbing to help move them. Use water to direct them to a wall that they climb into another suspended water stream or other movement method. Scaffolding is a good block to trap them with as it's transparent from the sides and bottom. And solid from the top. Place 2x2 Cobble/ stone brick wall for aesthetic with one block gap the spiders sit in. This is your kill chamber. It's the most effective I've found to pull them up and not down. Dropping traps rarely work unless you widen it more than the spiders. And even then it's more likely to kill them.
I've been playing Minecraft for 8 years... I decided to brave up and start building a skeleton spawner XP farm in my new survival world. I spent all week researching mob mechanics and general efficiency and I finished building and decorating the farm just 1 hour before this video was posted. 😢
I’ve been struggling on my mob farm, I was looking at all kinds of videos, I should’ve found this video a long time ago because it worked on its first try, thank you 😊
Thank you for such a straightforward guide!
Such a great tutorial!
Thanks so much!
Super easy! Just made one following your instructions and turned out perfectly, thankyou
Amazingly made and well-detailed video.
I know pretty much all of these guides, but i just love to watch your videos. Keep up the good work mate!
This literally helped me so much, thank you!
when i was looking for a tutorial like this, all i saw were videos. i wanted a step by step instruction, but chose this one in hopes it would be suitable. it was more than that. your voice was calming, not too loud or too quiet, and easy to understand
Ok and
Used this video and tips in the comments to make my very first Stray farm in survival, just built the kill room a few blocks lower to accommodate the snow and cobweb. Honestly can't thank you and the community enough!!
This works great! Easy to build and great step by step tutorial.
This was really helpful! Thanks :)
Your channel is a helper for me, thanks man for every video you post.
I made my first spawner xp farm with a cave spider spawner. I totally winged it but I knew the concept. All the water comes off of one wall, at the edge of that line of water's reach they fall down one into a line of water flowing to the side and in the corner where they all end up I have a half block opening where they peep when they jump up from the water what they constantly do, and I have a trap door to close it off when I'm not killing. Under their favorite hopping spot I have a hopper feeding into a chest on my side of the wall and I can take enough distance whilst killing them to pick up the xp with another tool in hand. Works amazingly well. I can even afk for a few as the spiders group up at their kill spot.
This'll sure help me in my world, Thankyou Eyecraftmc
No Problem!
Very clearly and helpfully video! It helped so much! Now I can really enjoy Farming XP :)
Thanks for the design!
Great video thanks for making it simple 👍
Thank you! I just did this (didn’t do the switchback) and it’s the best xp farm I’ve ever done!!!! Thank you 🙏🏻
This video was so simple I had already understood what to do by 5:46 and paused the video and now I have a very good farm, thanks alot 😁
Thanks much for this video. Helped me to remember the exact dimensions for my Vampire farm. Gotta get the blood and fangs for becoming a better Hunter.
TYSM this helps alot on my server i really needed this :D
It worked. Thank you so much!
such a chill video, i love your voiceover
Great video bro !
thank you! vert helpful!
As the idiot that i am i destroyed all the mob spawners i came across early in the game, now i am stuck with 4 cave spider spawners, the most annoying mob of them all. LOL. As soon as i find a skeleton/zombie spawner i will use your design! thx eye
Did you find it in the end?
Just tried this method out and it worked like a charm! Thank you [:
Very helpful video!
tysm, i forgot how to do this since i just started a new survival world since a year. This helped alot!
Thanks bro you have helped me in my survival world to get alot of XP.Btw nice editing
Thank you for this!
Awesome video thank you!
ahh man thank you so much this is the most useful tutorial i've found your content is amazing keep up the good work
bro you are great at this! thank you
This vid was really helpful thank you
Thanks!!! It worked perfect! 🤩
Found one of those last week, I'm new to the game, so had no clue it could be so useful.
Wow, thank you so much because of you I can make my XP farm 😊
Thanks dude!
Perfect! 👏🏻🔥
I love how this guy puts little tips inside the tips.
Tysm! This helped alot
just what i needed atm 😂
Nice!
this helped so much thanks
Perfect timing, in around 30 mins I was about to start building my own 😳
THANK YOU!
Tried this with a zombie spawner and it works very well! Just a caution to others: be careful if you've found your spawner fairly deep, as by the time you've gotten to creating the kill chamber, you may do what I did, and had to contend with bedrock. I was able to work around it, but it took a while. Regardless, this was a great tutorial!
man im in bedrock beta, i made it everything as the video says but the mobs jist dont spawn
@@harjyotimdx8294he's saying he ran into actual bedrock
@@tommy4785 it worked for me, i was in peacefull mode at that time, bdw afk in bedrock not worked
Awesome video thanks for the help
Just subscribed Bc we made a new world and I needed this awesome farm, ❤keep it up. we are trying to be a great channel and this is an even greater example!
I have started the Ancient Warfare 2 mod, and in a dungeon, there's like a ton of spawners, I would convert them into a huge farm, though the version is 1.12.2 sadly, but I'll try!
just used your design for a zombie farm that is right under my base, great design thanks!
I did the SAME THING it's so helpful, changed my game completely
Thanks to this tutorial I have at last built a working double skelly XP farm. I just have to find a decent afk spot to make them both activate but otherwise it was working good. Thanks a lot!
nice tutorial, thanks
!
THANKS SO MUCH
Nice!
amazing video bro
Like the Idea with the Fireplace. and its easy for beginners
Thank you!
I like the spawner design, I tried so many others a d this one is really effective
very good video ty
love you tysm
Great video
I thought I destroyed all mob spawns in my cave right by my house when I had found this video previously. Then I found one and immediately came to watch again!! Definitely works and I managed to get fortune III and efficiency IV on my diamond pickaxe after my first farming session!!
Just found my first zombie spawner ever yesterday (but it's under ocean haha, found a way to tunnel to base though), so I'm totally using this! But I think I'm going to go with a trident killer... for more looting and auto exp, need that dirty meat to trade for emeralds! 🥰🥰🥰
Did it actually work for you? I wasn’t successful with it, sadly.
@@jaywilt420-_-2 yeah, I still use it, it works better than the creeper farm for exp that my friend built on our realm, but I did go with trident killer at bottom but everything else was the same ☺️
Thanks man
Came here for the tutorials, subscribed for the calming voice 😍
If your spawner has a Y level at or below -51 you may either want to use another spawner or plan to adjust the storage/collection system.
My spawner was at -51 and I had space for 2 layers of chests according to the video layout.
This little easy farm has helped my game tremendously. Grinding xp is stupid easy now.
I just made a Zombie farm before watching this and it involves a Turtle Egg, so I think it's easier to make than the design explained in the video if silk touch tools are already accessible
Excellent video. Actually builds the spawner in survival so I can see how it's done.
