      It is filled with the data of area around You when you hold it in hand(no matter which, before map is empty and You can craft empty map with not empty map to make a copy), the area (in diameter) is over a half of the map with it's base size. To craft one You have to surround compass with 8 pieces of paper. To scale up You have to surround the map with 8 pieces of paper. To place down on surface just place item frame first and then put map there (with left click).
      You can also get some special maps from shipwrecks (leads You to treasure chest, to easily locate it just use F3 menu and find 9 9 position in a chunk - chest will always be there) or cartographer (maps to woodland mansion and ocean monuments)

    2:36 Another benefit of going to the mines with Silk Touch is that some ores, such as coal, lapis, redstone and diamonds, give experience when you mine them. So it's better to keep them for later to fix things with Mending or to gain levels.

    • @fireshort3984
      @fireshort3984 Před rokem +11

      Another thing you can do is bring a crafting table with you to craft the ores into blocks and have space saved as well, I’m not sure which saves more but i do know it’s 7 blocks in one full stack of an ore, making you able to hold 9 stacks in one slot pretty easily

      mate mining ores to gain levels is so slow just use an easy enderman farm or something. There are way too many flaws for silk touch being good. All you need with fortune is maybe a crafting table or just shulker boxes lmao. I wouldn't wanna place and mine hundreds of the same ores I already could've done in the beginning. @@Sly2BandOfThievesIsTheBestSly the farm itself is kind of a building.
      And the only one I ever do was few mob farm for spawner - as it is the one that kinda make sense thematically - thus doesn't feeling so off and exploit-like. And well once I did guardian farm, because of how inaccesible prismarin is. But that's was more because game is kinda FORCING me to do that out of poor design (as prismarin is building block it would make most sense to get it from common ore like in quartz... actually with monster spawner farm it's kinda similar - albeit not so drastic case - as without them there's no realluy reliable sources of bonemeal or strings(well these are not this needed, so cobwebs in structures kinda could do...)), but I never ever consider zombie pigman farm for gold or xp, enderman farm, iron farm(really just using nbt editor to merge fortune enchantment over level 3, or switchin into creative to "decraft" some of the stuff from structures(like iron bars, dors etc.) is way more fair way to get more iron), raid farm typical mob grinder or anything like that. (as really what they would ever be from in-universe perspective?) And that generally never give me any problems :P
      Also I preffer peacefull mode, as hostile mobs are mainly annoying and doesn't bring anything fun for the game. And I have strong belief, that for every usefull things from them there should also be reliable ways of getting it in peacuful. In other words: other difficulties should NOT cut out important part of the game content(like many items from mob drops).

Safer to just drink it, even if you don’t start drinking it until you get in the lava it will still be fast enough for you to be saved, can just heal after. I actually use the lodestone a lot! Whenever Im off exploring, I either place it in my base, or the nether portal. Another thing that is useful, that I haven’t seen a wide use of, and Im not sure why I started, most likely from Grians Hermitcraft episodes, is to have a shulker box that you carry around all the time, full of extra food, armor, and the tools you dont use a lot, but might need when exploring, such as the hoe, or axe. It also condenses the space the tools would use, especially since my sword is the only one without a second pair, down from nine to one, plus the chestplate that I rarely use due to me being used to jumping off high places, and activating my elytra, and the fact I only turn off peaceful when I need to. So, just like that, I will have nearly all my inventory versus the whole row my tools would have taken up, plus the lodestone compasses that I have for my base

    Though, using a horn isn't exactly _subtle,_ seeing as everyone can here you from miles and miles away. So it's not great for a secret entrance, thanks to it alerting everyone when you use it. But it could still work GREAT for something like a trap, or to open a hidden compartment that unleashes lots of powerful mobs upon your enemies.

    Good video, but Tip #4 is pretty majorly flawed.
    Silk Touch used to be the best way to mine before 1.17, it was the only thing I ever did once I had enchantments, but now that every ore drops a raw compressible product, it's far more efficient to use Fortune and periodically compress all your ores 9x in a crafting table. Fortuned and compressed Lapis still has the potential to fill more space than its Silked ore block, but Lapis is one of the rarer ores you'll be picking up, and is far outweighed by the added storage efficiency of all the coal, iron, copper, gold, and redstone you'll be packing.
    Also, let's not forget that the main reason for wanting efficient storage while mining is to save the time you'd have to spend on repeated trips back. And if your goal is to save time, you can't forget the extra time sink that Silk Touch adds: placing and re-mining all of your ores. Even with a Haste II Beacon and a structure to expedite placing and collection, compressing 5 stacks of items is far faster than mining a stack of ores.

    Even though you can mine lapis with silk touch to conserve inventory space, you don't "need" silk touch or shulker boxes. You can just carry a crafting table and whenever you mine 9 pieces of lapis, coal, raw gold, raw iron, redstone etc. and make blocks out of them. 1 block holds 9 of the raw elements in it and that way you can already carry 9 times the amount of resources with you before having to return from a mining trip to unload.

    for the life saving splash potion, I actually recomend if you have iron armor or better to NOT make it splash and instead keep it as a normal potion. when falling there can be so many different factors that happen, and accidently not aiming up straight and leaving the one way you dont die into a fortress wall that doesnt hit you isnt good. I recomend keeping one spalsh, one normal at the end of a hot bar. Ive done this in all my worlds, and thjere are times where the splash potion simply doesnt hit me, but due to being in diamond armor i can withstand the 2 seconds of chugging the potion in lava and survive. I do hardcore worlds, and my go to is the last 3 slots in the hotbar alwasys being splash fire resist, normal fire resist, and golden apples.
    EXTRA TIP: I also always keep a potion(s) of slow falling incase I am being in areas where i could easily fall to my death, even if i have elytra on. theyre so underrated and EXPECIALLY in this new insane terrain update, its a nessescity imo . theyre really easy to get early, just 1 villiage with a brewing stand and dont sleep lol
