"I wish you'd come here for something else"
wish they actually did visit Tony in those 5 years as friends and not just because they needed to save the world. Tony does miss them.
Yeah but remember, Rogers is still the guy who kept a soul crushing secret from Tony and Even beat him at the end of civil war, unforgivable. Natasha betrayed Tony at the airport and after that, went on to continue hero work, which Tony was trying to retire from. Lang was... Elsewhere.
No one even visited Thor to check if he was ok either 😭
@@thembanitheone oh damn. you're right :((
Just serves as a reminder to check on your friends. Even those who you're not very close with, you never know they might be depressed like Thor now
While it may seems harsh, it make sense to some degree. Because even without seeing each other, everyone of them carry their regret of failing to stop Thanos. Seeing their old teammate would only remind/strengthen that feelings.
At least until they found hope, a way to undo their regret.
It’s almost funny because Tony and Scott are the smartest characters in this scene. They’re literally the only ones out of the four of them that understand quantum mechanics.
I mean Tony literally said Scott doesnt understand Quantum Physics. Scott thinks the butterfly effect is real, which it isnt in the MCU, see: Ancient One's explanation/Loki show.
@@Croagge, I agree. Already seen Loki and any movie involving the Ancient One. I would have to watch them again. Out of the two of them, Tony’s smarter. The Deutsch Proposition. Et cetera.

@Wasa Few ?
@Wasa Few you do realise that by doing that he saved the earth from becoming a battlefield like wakanda
@Wasa Few but he didn't know that nor where vision was. And sorry my first comment was wrong. The reason he brought the fight to thanos was because strange was captured in the beginning and he had the time stone. By going into space tony was hoping to prevent thanos from getting the time stone which was the only stone he knew the whereabouts of
@Wasa Few ok you're right on that but that doesn't change what i said on him not knowing where cap and the others were. He didn't know they were in wakanda. And just like he didn't know about the guardians of the galaxy, he also didn't know thor would be on earth
@Wasa Few there was a scene that showed that he did call him but couldn't reach him. It was when bruce first came back to earth. Bruce had convinced him to call steve. But i think it is still arguable that since he didn't know where vision was, he didn't want to wait and risk innocents life on earth by carrying out the fight where he was before leaving. But i agree with your point that he thought he could try to beat thanos on his own

Man's got a family, I wouldn't leave them neither
i’m obsessed with the short nod that tony and natasha exchange. it’s like they settled their beef from civil war. like when tony nods back, it’s like he’s forgiven her for her betrayal at the end of civil war.
Agreed, so much has happened since then and they've been professional acquaintances for years. This movie was pretty heavy.
They actually have the longest relationship between any of the (original) avengers. I think there's a mutual respect there that he may have lost with Cap. While he doesn't think Cap has anything but his own self interest at heart, he KNOWS Natasha has his. This was deep!
Not only that. Notice how Tony avoided eye contact with Steve when they arrived. Deep down, Tony still hasn’t forgiven him. Steve waits for Natasha to give them the clear to proceed.
@@adammathers4879 nah pretty sure he has. forgiven him. He literally tells steve the next day that he's let go of any resentment towards hm for the civil war incident.
@@epicfan1598 Tony saying that, and actually meaning that, are two different things. it is known that Tony holds back a lot of emotion in regards to his history with Steve. Tony might say that everything is good, but in reality that bitterness seems to persist.

"Table's set for six."
"If you don't talk shop, you can stay for lunch."
Always appreciated that from Tony. Last time we saw him, he was angry with Steve and most of the team. After coping with the loss of half the Avengers for five years, he's willing to sit down and have lunch with the few friends he has left.
Reading this honestly hits so hard because of the desperation that most of the characters have cuz so much was taken away from them.
And they still left
@@-Cross_ Yup. The moment he said no, it's pretty clear they no longer were interested in interacting with him.
Because Tony has by this point more or less moved on. He's built a life for himself in those five years, something Scott is too new to this to have done, while Natasha and Steve have not. While Tony initially felt the same despair and sense of failure, he ultimately stopped letting it eat at him. The others don't understand this, are put off by this. So of course they left. They weren't interested in seeing the happy Stark Family. They were in a bleak place.
I love how even under the circumstances Cap never force Tony into participating nor pushing his wish/ideal onto him. But saying that Tony is not wrong and he wants to do it the right way.

RDJ really hit it out the park as Tony in this one. As soon as Tony sees them drive up, the look on his face says it all. He knew everything he had was about to be put in jeopardy. His initial hesitation about helping is what makes Tony so human. Deep down he knew what he was going to do.

Tony was making a smart decision in this scene. It's one thing dealing with Aliens and Omnipotent Power Stones, but it's a completely other thing to be messing with Time. I mean, for as smart and arrogant as Tony was in the past, even he didn't try his hand at making a time machine because not only did he understand how unrealistic it was, but that even if he could make it, the very existence of a time machine would turn reality in over its head.

Also is no one going to mention how Scott called Tony "Trenton"
Trenton is the capital of New Jersey and later in the movie they go to New Jersey
I was just thinking how this conversation and the outcome would affect the rest of her life. They dragged their dad to a impossible mission. She is right there listening in as he tries to back out of it because of her. Then he makes a selfless decision by inventing the impossible just to help his friends. Tony goes time traveling, defeats a galactic supervillain and save 50% of the universe in exchange for his life. Morgan has to live knowing that the avengers and the world took her dad away from her and now they would look for a successor. They harassed and tried to hunt down Spiderman, who is practically like a older brother to her and in the future if privacy was damned they will look at her as the next Ironman successor. Morgan got screwed over because her dad was the best man possible who sacrificed himself so everyone else will be happy while they look for another sacrifice and it might be her.

It kind of frustrates me how Scott said that he lost someone important to him, and a lot of people did. As if Tony didn’t lose people as well. Yes he has a daughter and a wife now but only because Pepper wasn’t part of the 50% killed. He still lost Peter and half his team, just like the rest of the Avengers and the whole world did. Scott was making it seem like Tony didn’t care about everyone else when in reality he was still grief stricken and just trying to move on, only for his team to come back and try to get him back into something he’d left behind. In all the Iron Man films Pepper had tried to get Tony to stop inventing and putting himself in danger, and it quite literally took the murder of trillions for him to break. Idk, sometimes I feel like even here the rest of the team was slightly out of touch.
That’s not what he means you dummy, he’s relating to him by saying that he lost people AS well, meaning Tony isn’t the only one whose lost people. It’s hilarious reading some comments wrote by people with bad compression.
@@user-cc8fe3pe4p *comprehension* is the term you were looking for, I believe. And the past tense would be *written*, not wrote. And based on Scott’s word choice and attitude, it doesn’t seem like he was relating to him at all. Scott literally says I get why you’re nervous, you have a wife and daughter, but I lost someone very important to me, a lot of people did. I’m not sure where you believe Scott was attempting to relate to him, but you’re entitled to your own conclusions.
Nah, it would be difficult for Scott to completely empathize and fully relate to Tony on this, cuz it's been five years for Tony, but only a mere couple of days for Scott after he got out of the Quantum Realm. You'd think you would have already gotten past it after spending five years grieving and regretting, but losing 50% of what matters to you in life is way too disemboweling. Actual people would kill themselves for a lot less.
Plus, if you look back on the difference in emotion Scott shows towards seeing her already-grown up daughter as opposed to her seeing her father alive and well, it's a pretty major takeaway. Dude ain't really there yet on the depression meter. lmao
He told Tony to put half of the universe amount of people before himself and his family.
They always want something from Tony. Cap risked himself in his movie but it was on Tony for the Avengers movies… he got to go back and live a full life while Tony had five years.🙄

This scene makes me mad at Cap and Scott. Because isn't it selfish how Scott was basically like "Oh i know you made a family but *I* lost someone important to *ME* and *I* want *YOU* to do everything you can to bring that someone back"? And when it all ended Cap just decided to chill in the past with the love of his life while Tony was dead. They both knew that this man would risk everything in order to do what they asked him but they still went to his house to ask him to do it. And in the end they got what they wanted solely out of Tony's genius but Tony himself lost his life. It's so unfair.
Ikr... It pisses me off
Fax literally Tony was depressed he lost his ally and friend and now he’s forced to come into a situation where a sacrifice must be made? Give me a break, now that I think about it Tony’s death makes me more angry at Cap.
@@onlyds0822 Yeah ik and Scott especially makes me even more angry. "Ok, you got a wife and a 5 year old but i need my gf back" Like??? Are you for real? And then he got her back but Tony DIED leaving a little girl without a father. Like C'MON Y'ALL!
@@fotinitsipa6235 yeah I mean Bruce could’ve done the work since he’s big brain like Tony
@@onlyds0822 No, unfortunately for Tony he couldn't. We saw Bruce trying the time travel but he failed. He was just turning Scott into an old man and a baby lol. There wasn't a brain like Tony's and that's exactly why he did it in the end. He knew that he was the last chance they had even if that meant that he had to die for it. It's what made him a hero yeah, but it still hurts😭
when you think about it, they were hella selfish for this. basically trynna gaslight this man into leaving the peace he found.
Sad we don't even have to think that hard, they were very obnoxiously doing it.
I hate time travel stories because they ruin the important lessons of loss and how we have to move on to improve after learning from that loss. Robbing Morgan Stark of her father, just for a Back to the Future quest, is wrong on so many levels. Nevertheless, I respect Tony's sacrifice.
Just remember there are people who lost their lover and were able to move on and get a new partner after this movie the lover who got snapped randomly comes back to see their lover with another the snapped person will thing they cheated while that person didn't because they don't know about the advengers snapped them back
I will use this clip for my edit video. Thanks!
Chris looking rather cute in his Ken wig.
Is anyone else sad we missed Steve’s reaction to Tony and Pepper finally being pregnant?
The only reason why Scott fought so hard for Tony to join because this was all so fresh to him. 5 hours ago he just got pardoned on parole and now everyone he knows was gone. He missed a big, good chunk of his daughter’s life. He didn’t have any time to process this at all
Tony: I can’t do this because of Morgan
Also Tony: *dies*.
Tony : it was a billion in one cosmic fluke
that there was a hint that they're going in the direction doctor strange put them in
Funny how Scott told Tony “Can never trust a Stark.” And here he is pushing him to help build the time machine. Hypocrite much
