    Thank you so much for posting this! For some buzzard reason my graphics reset after the update and after spending 3 hours scratching my head trying to figure out how I went from 110+fps too 20 this video saved my sanity.

    Thanks for making this! It sure would be nice if iRacing made these types of videos.

    WOW!
    Thank you SO MUCH!!
    I using a new low end HP gaming computer. ( $600@walmart). It has and AMD RX5500 4gb graphics card. I upgraded to 32gb ram.
    This is EXACTLY THE INFO I NEEDED. I figured out several of the settings, clouds and crowds, several of the others I had no idea how important or how much the affected FPS.
    My machine does a great job so far on running IRacing, this will be a HUGE HELP!
    Once again, thank you so much!

      Glad is was useful for you!
      I have a PDF available on how to configure the AMD 6800 GPU,
      there may be some points that are also applicable to the RX5500.

    I found this very useful, thanks. What’s the reason for choosing 4 less than monitor value for the frame rate limit rather than the full limit?

    • @irsidekick
      @irsidekick  Před rokem +2

      That is the sweet spot to get the best input (steering & pedal) latency.
      It also ensures the CPU thread is not saturated with pointless workload, this makes it possible to handle infrequent short term high overheads like the car damage model (parts flying off) during crashes
      Battlenonsense on CZcams has the full details

      @@irsidekick thanks for the video. One question: if I have a 144hz triple monitors, and I would like to limit the fps to let's say 84, is it still good? or the best solution would be 140? If possible I prefer to stick with a lower frame rate

    • @irsidekick
      @irsidekick  Před rokem +1

      @@mauromicheletti9470 You need to check your monitor specifications, there will be a minimum and maximum refresh rate range it can operate across, you need to keep the FPS in that range.
      The lower the FPS the more information you are missing out on.
      At 200 km/h your 84 FPS gets a frame every 660mm where as 144 FPS gets a frame every 385mm, think about the effect that has on your braking and turn in timing...

      @@irsidekick hm its weird because i have seen some videos on youtube from road racing and you can clearly see sometimes black marble fly out of tire. Maybe it was in older version of the game and they removed this feature now?

      @@oskarwilde81 On road racing you get some dirt or grass kicked up when the tyre runs just off the edge of the road. I don't do road oval much so have never seen it there...

    I have a Victus 15L 5700 6600xt can i run high settings on 1080p without problems?

    • @irsidekick
      @irsidekick  Před 4 měsíci

      No - the 6600xt is not high performance and AMD GPU's are not a good option for iRacing
      Download irSidekick Profiles, select the standard GFX preset.
      You can try the "Pretty" GFX preset also

    Tried Particles soft on and off and can’t see a difference. Did burnouts, donuts,…. What am I missing ? It’s on high detail and full resolution….?

    • @irsidekick
      @irsidekick  Před rokem +1

      Are you dirt or road racing? On road racing you should see smoke when doing donuts and the FPS will take a big hit. You may need the shader quality on high or ultra. You may need to restart iRacing when changing these settings.

    • @bmwM3M5M6

      @@irsidekickRoad racing. I see smoke when doing burnouts but with Soft On or Off I can’t see a difference in smoke quality, on and off seems identical. With this I only mean SOFT setting.
      And with heat haze there is cool exhaust effects you said. I have heat haze OFF and still have exhaust pops flames so what happens specific extra when heat haze is ON ?
      I could try all this but you just seem have more knowledge about it and I’m fairly new to iRacing so appreciate the help 👍

    • @irsidekick
      @irsidekick  Před rokem +1

      @@bmwM3M5M6 The soft setting is a specific graphic processing to make the smoke look better against the background, if you're not a graphic artistic you won't know what to look for and may not notice the difference. Some scenes will benefit, others won't.
      The heat haze is the ripple in the air above the exhaust - need to restart iRacing when turning that on/off.
      I though it also controlled the exhaust fire but maybe not - that's only on a few cars.
