Sorry if you weren’t expecting that. I do cover the .ini files backup procedure in the first part of the video and hitting the config button is usually only needed if you’re encountering problems
yeah, iRacing pulled the sliders out of the GUI late last year. it's still possible to manually set the values in the ini file but you shouldn't need to
hello tnx for the info! i have a 3080 with i7 10700k i have the problem with racelab , now iracing suffers from stuttering!it gives me a bloody pain in the eyes! do you have any help? Thank you
Does the stuttering immediately go away if you close racelab? Could be a number of things, make sure your RAM sliders in iRacing graphics settings leave some room for your programs (e.g. if you have 16GB of ram, make sure iRacing is only allowed to use 12GB of it. Another thing to check is that your audio device in iRacing settings is not set to default, this can also cause issues with CPU performance. Let me know if either of those help
@@bmwM3M5M6 This issue may have been fixed by now but in the past some users have had stuttering issues because of the sim audio device being set to default, rather than to the specific sound device selected in the sound tab in settings in the sim. For example, when i first started on the sim i had huge stuttering problems but they immediately cleared when i switched the sound device in-sim settings from default to my headset
@@S1Races Oh yeah now I understand. Because I set it to my specific headset in all games. It’s one of the first standard things I do when installing a new game. But I experience short stuttering in iRacing when I CHANGE volume up or down then I get stuttering which then becomes normal after 10s or so. I’m on Windows 11.
My Ryzen 5800 is my bottleneck for VR. Which settings are CPU bound? I need to lower those. My GPU isn’t even breaking a sweat. I know cars rendered but what else?
There’s a number of them, best guide I found to cover CPU vs GPU load on iRacing I’ve linked below. It’s specifically focused on VR optimization which should help your scenario. forums.iracing.com/discussion/1185/iracing-vr-optimization-guide/p1
What does distortion really do ? I’m not really seeing backfires of the cars in front like very little and sometimes…. And particles SOFT what does this do ?
The best description out there at the moment is in the VR guide. Robert explains both in a bit more detail so worth having a quick read if you have a few mins. forums.iracing.com/discussion/1185/iracing-vr-optimization-guide/p1
Yup they did, in the Jan update I believe. You can still make manual adjustments to the memory allocated in the DX11Renderer file but… the game takes care of it for you now and from what I can see, it does a good job
Sysmain should only be enabled if your running spinning drives. If you have SSD or NVMe drives disable it, its useless, Nobody should be running spinning drives as there main drives nowdays anyways
For graphics config I don’t have any recommendations for specific .ini file changes to make. I find all of the key graphics settings can be managed using the UI. Is there something in particular you think we’re missing?
@@lukesmall7660Fair point, I think it’s useful to know though and graphics config videos usually get the most views so I wanted to put it in a video where more people would be able to see it
Thanks for resetting my settings when i clicked graphics configurator

Great video, gained an average of 20-25 FPS using this guide. Thanks
That’s awesome, some great gains there!
As a new iRacing user, this is extremely helpful.. You got a new subscriber, 🙂
Glad it helped!
Great tips and settings thanks for taking the time to post
Glad you found it useful!
grazie many thanks
Hi, very useful video thx. One question, I dont have this two memory sliders in Graphics settings in game. Do You have an idea why, pls?

Seems to be a problematic service for gaming, I wonder why it hasn’t been addressed
ruined my triple monitor settings smh
Not sure why it would change your triples settings as it just focuses on graphics adjustments. If you let me know what happened I’ll take a look
You don't even tell us what to edit in the ini files
