  • GR Yaris Bilstein B16 Coilover Install + Road Review
    It's no secret of just how good the GR Yaris is out of the box, but that doesn't mean improvements can't be made. We try out the Bilstein B16 Coilover suspension kit that NTP have developed for Time Attack use. Can it turn the little GR Yaris up to 11?
    We take a closer look at the kit, fit it to the car then get out on the road to give our feedback.

    good to know there is more in the Yaris...guess the Corolla GR also shows what the engine can handle

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, assuming Toyota haven’t made any changes to the internals it shows the engine is good for 300bhp which having had that in this is an absolute riot.

  • @Hcarmad
    @Hcarmad Před 2 lety +2

    Good video, massive love for the GR, Toyota finally doing more performance models. Will be good the see the Yaris a bit lower with maybe some spacers or lower offset wheels.

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 2 lety +1

      There’s a lot of adjustability in the suspension to lower it as much as you want. We followed NTP’s advice for optimal handling setup, that will be fine tweaked when we take it for a proper geo setup.
      The standard wheels are so light it’s hard to change them, but maybe it’s time we did something 🤔

    It's been sometime, but I would definitely want to know detailed specifications of the GRMN Bilstein suspension. Coming from Japanese videos, that I can't understand, it seems it can take both tarmac and gravel.

    Thanks for this, something to think about in future on my car although it's a growing list! Interesting that both you and Litchfield (via Dan Prosser) say that the point of aftermarket suspension changes is to settle the ride down, make it more compliant on the road, that out of the factory it's a bit too busy. Is that a fair summary?

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 2 lety +2

      The Bilstein’s are just more… competent. They can handle more complex inputs and take it in their stride, where the standard suspension would begin to become unsettled over certain things.

  • @elvinomac
    @elvinomac Před 5 měsíci

    Did you lower the front and rear by 25mm? For road use you adjusted it to 3: did you try 1 or 2 for greater comfort? How much did NTP tell you about the track?

  • @Ingmar72

    My thoughts are, if it's better to spend the money in a suspension like the Bilstein or to put it into Verkline parts to improve the stock one (or a later suspension upgrade)

      @@EvolveAutomotive , oh I've didn't expect you to comment or evaluate that! It was just a question I was asking myself, when I watched your video. Bilstein suspensions are very good, no doubt and doing both would probably the best and most expensive solution, as always...

    Watching you toss around the box had me thinking, damn Imran ain't skipping arm day. Then you say it's empty....ooooh. lmao
    Edit: So for the every day user is the price of addmission worth the increase over the MSS kit? I like the height, it's not too low. Still has a touch of gap. Almost looks like it needs wider tires.

    • @EvolveAutomotive
      @EvolveAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      It all depends on your budget really. It’s an impressive upgrade, and the difference would be even bigger if you used the car on track. The MSS we had fitted did a great job of letting us lower the car and not lose any handling/comfort.
      The car can definitely take some spacers or a lower offset wheel yes.

    • @2of2DCH
      @2of2DCH Před 2 lety
