The GR Yaris needs a valved exhaust - Aulitzky OPF Back

- The GR Yaris is just too quiet from factory, it steals the drama that an exhaust note brings!
Now it may have been by design that Toyota made the car so quiet, as a 3 cylinder isn't always the most pleasing of sounds. So this is where Aulitzky and their valved exhaust comes in! Loud when you want it, but disappears when you don't - sounds perfect right?
Lets get it fitted on to our car and see what it's really like.

Surely that has to be the best GR exhaust on the market right now. Brilliant how they have set it up to work in the way they have with the mode dial. I honestly didn't think anyone would make an exhaust sound this good on a 3 pot engine, but they have. 👍 It would have been great if you'd have given us the prices of this exhaust 😉
I am interested to hear the Akrapovic exhaust for the GR when that arrives later in the year. Please do a review on one of those as soon as they are available please. 👍👍 Great video, keep them coming.

This exhaust sounds good. I thought there wasn't much hope for the 3 put but this is great. Love the way it's integrated instead of using a keyfob system.

It would be handy to have a remote control for open/closed.
I tend to drive mine in Track regardless of whether I'm driving it hard or not.
That being said, the exhaust sounds great. Way better than the previous one!
As said you can open/close the valve using a double press of the traction button. Fully integrated in to the cars canbus, no need for an external remote.

Having it work using the driving mode and TC switches is a really nice touch.
Does it remember the TC switch setting? I’d want it to default to closed in all driving modes, and then only open with the double tap, not the other way round.
I use sport mode on dual carriageways to save the rear diff’s clutch pack (it doesn’t slip/heat up in sport mode), so I don’t want to have to double tap the traction control button daily to avoid the drone.
It does not. Im unsure if this is something Aulitzky could programme, as that’s a fairly unusual use case.
Sounds more like you’d want a cheaper ‘dumb’ controller rather than an active one that integrates.
In which mode do you recon it would slip and heat up then? In track or in normal?
Sport mode heats the rear diff least because it locks it so there’s no slip going on there, but apparently it doesn’t help because the centre diff can still overheat.
Cusco do a rear diff cover with more oil capacity, but a few people are working on diff and trans coolers now.

Is a complete set like this including the electronic system to connect to the vehicle system to stabilize the valve and the exhaust system as above, but to install for Mazda Cx5?

Seems all boxes ticked. Nice tone. Would have liked to hear valve open on tickover and a good view at back end as it looked like the system was a bit lower than stock. Is it possible to have an app and control valve with a mobile phone. As shown is fine just asking. What about price too?

I believe you should be able to with the ignition on, manually open the valve before starting the car. I cannot say for sure though as we no longer have this kit fitted to our own vehicle.

Which of the exhausts you tried you like the most? It's really hard to judge where to put my money in. I though Akrapovic was a perfect fit, but this also sounds pretty good. What do you think? (money is not a factor)
I personally like the sound of the Akra but it's very subjective.

TBH the mg didn't sound that bad though, had a different character to it.
We look forward to testing the next exhaust they send us to see how it sounds.
Also how the sound of this exhaust changes with an OPF delete pipe.

This looked like (and sounded like) the ideal solution for my GR Yaris until I saw the price... Almost £3500 fitted is ridiculous for a steel system valved or not :(

Hi! In Germany the valve closes at 20km/h and opens again at 70 km/h… I think this is really shitty driving on curvy streets when you get slower than 70. Is the double tap onto the button also working for opening the valve? Is it working here in this phase of duty closing or is this deactivated? If yes, how long will the valve stay open in the German situation? Until changing mode, double tapping again or reaching those trigger speeds again? Greetings
It sounded like the standard one you get in Germany follows the TUV requirements. You can probably program it (or get it programmed) to do what you want though.
We cannot comment on the German operations as I believe this is all for TüV but you should contact Aulitzky Exhausts directly.
On our UK variant double pressing TC allows the valve to stay open or closed. So you can force close it in Sport/Track, or force open it in Comfort.

hks super turbo sounds and looks way better. I've always praised the simplicity of the GR Yaris, being able to go full send without pushing 10 different buttons, selecting several modes and the valve is just making it worse.
