At a time when the NBA was truly at it's Renaissance (1998-2007), at a time where almost every team had "That 1 Man" on their team, The Celtics had Paul Pierce. He was the Celtics, they went through so much during the 2000's, and when The Next Generation (Bron, Wade, Melo, Paul) took over, he was getting lost in the shuffle, until KG, and Ray Ray joined with him. Pierce was my favorite player next to T-Mac, Sprewell, and Iverson growing up.

The clip where he is jawing with Harrington right before the end of the quarter then pulls up right in his eye is a childhood memory I will always have. I was a big fan of Pierce before that game but he showed that he was a truly elite player, one that can take whatever they want whenever they want it during that game.
Paul Pierce is a true warrior and a true celtic. No matter where he goes, he will always bleed green on the inside. That much is a fact. When Brooklyn comes to Boston, he should get the loudest ovation any basketball player has every gotten. Thank you Pierce for the title in 2008, thank you for all the memories, all the plays, and thank you for representing Boston in its truest form. You will be missed.
I literally grew up watching Paul Pierce. Not only was he the face of the Boston Celtics, but to me he was the face of basketball. He will be sorely missed in Beantown. Good luck in Brooklyn

I know heart when I see it, and this guy played his whole heart out. I am sorry to see him leave the Celtics. If anyone deserved to retire a Celtic, it was Pierce but unfortunately it didnt turn out the way it should have been. But truth be told, I do not care. He is a Celtic to me, no matter what. There are less than a few players in the NBA with such fierce loyalty as Pierce. A great player and a great man. Come back one day, Pierce. The door will always be open to you.
