Seriously, J-Kidd's nickname should be "Mr. Turnaround"... I mean, the guy turned the NJ Nets from being league doormats to title contenders his first year in New Jersey! Also, the Knicks were a 7th seed before he came there and were no. 2 in the East with 54 wins his first year in New York! What happened when he retired the next year? The Knicks missed the playoffs! Now let's look at his young coaching career; Brooklyn Nets make the playoffs (though with a lower seed before he was their coach) and now that he ain't coaching them they're currently well below .500. Let's look now to his current team; the Milwaukee Bucks were the worst team in the NBA with only 15 wins before he was their coach and now they have nearly doubled their win total last year and the All-Star break hasn't even started yet! JASON KIDD FTW!

jan279 When Chandler left the MAVS, they still made the playoffs and won 50 games with Kidd and Dirk. When Chandler got Kidd to come to the Knicks, the next year the MAVS didn't make the playoffs. The MAVS have been trying to get a PG since then. Rondo really messed things up.
Jin Oh That is BS. Carmelo was the non factor. He was injured most of the season. Kidd was the reason. That Derek Fisher comment was crazy. Considering that him and Carmelo was on the Knicks when they didn't make the playoffs. Meanwhile Kidd has been in the playoffs 20 years in a row.
Jin Oh If Kidd was a Derek Fisher type player, How did the Knicks when 54 games? No, the truth is Kidd was a Kidd type player and Coach on the court. Derek Fisher showed you what he can do with that same Knicks teams. You are full of it. Did you know the MAVS didn't make the playoffs that same year the Knicks had Kidd? Also when Chandler left, the MAVS and Kidd was still able to get the MAVS to a 50+ season making the playoffs. Kidd is the GCD (GREATEST COMMON DENOMINATOR)!

I'm a huge Kidd fan! I've followed him to every team. He's one of the greatest passers I've ever seen. I was so happy when he came to play for NY. & I'm happy that he retired before his health went way down and injuries really took over. Good move on his part.

Even though I was a Nets fan, I screamed like I was a Mavericks fan when he won the title. He did so much for our franchise and I'm so proud he decided to come back as a coach. The way he left Jersey was just sad considering all the great things he had done. I always hoped he knew how much we loved him. Now we get to honor and rekindle that relationship again.
