    I think he’s great! Keep up the good fun and he’s unique. Most reviewers of these robo vaccums are boring as heck and put me to sleep! This guy at least have fun! First of all both the Shark IQ and iRobot I7 and S9 have pros and cons. You can see pics in Amazon reviews. The S9 rollers are rubber and do tear and you would have to replace them. Both the I7 and S9 have a very hard time getting over floor carpets and do poorly returning back to the base. They get confused. Most of the time is if you don’t fully map your area and you either relocate your bass or dock, the robot will get confused. The Shark is totally the best for the bang for your buck. However, it’s not a shop vac or a Dyson. The whole point of these robo vacs is to clean and maintain both your wood floor and carpet. It’s not a shop vac. For over $1,000 I would never pay for the S9 IRobot. If you’re going to pay that that much get the Roborock as this reviewer said and those are not cheap either. As we are getting lazier and lazier and expect these machines to do our job, we are not there yet. I’m pretty sure this reviewer knows that.
    1. Shark IQ is the best with its self emptying bin which is Bagless. You may have to change the filter and buy one that’s it but it does the job.
    2. The iRobot S9 has thousands of complaints from unsatisfied Amazon customers from ripped rubber that wears out quickly in the roller, hair getting stuck because the design of the roller vs Shark IQ. You go through buying a lot of bags like crazy for both the I7 and S9 iRobot if you have a big room or dirty house. Yes you have to buy these expensive bags and filter as well. Those bags do fill up quickly. Both I7 and iRobot S9 get stuck on the floor carpet or rugs because the way it’s design to not lift self up and get confused that it’s an object. It does not know that it needs to get over it to vacuum the floor carpet and floor rugs. The Shark IQ does an excellent job.
    I don’t work for Shark or endorse them trust me. I got one and no problem. You just got to move furniture out first and let it map itself the entire room from the camera that sense the angle and does it’s algorithm. You also have to remember to turn on the self emptying vaccum in the settings or it won’t know to self emptying which is the only downfall VS the iRobot which has sensors.

    With Black Friday coming soon there’s a couple of offers both for the Shark IQ and for the IRobot 960, I’m getting one this year but I am torn between the 2.... which one would you recommend for a 1600 sqft House tile floors

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Před 4 lety +1

      So both are equally good cleaners, the Shark IQ is a good maintenance tool meaning if you run it 2 to 3 times a week it will keep the dirt down, and with the self emptying bin, there little maintenance to do. Also the Shark IQ offers room select, which the 960 only offers a static map history of where the robot cleaned. The nice thing about the 960 is the Dual extractors which can pick up a lot of different materials big and small. Also does well with pet hair. The 960 has a better build quality which may last longer than the Shark.

    • @TryingSO

      Robot Masters Finally bought the new Shark (RV1001) my house is not that crazy big to justify the extra money for the bin. Tried it a couple of times I got stuck with a paper it found. Do you recommend moving the chairs from the dinning table or leaving them, I felt it acted clunky with the chair legs in the way it just wouldn’t know where to go for about 5-10 minutes in the same spot

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Před 4 lety

      Victor G Yes when you are mapping and doing the training runs try to remove all the furniture and pickup everything to help the robot have an accurate map. Once the map done then you can put the chairs back.

    In the Shark IQ instructions it says to put the base in an area where there is 3 feet of nothing on the left and 3 feet of nothing on the right. Since the other robot bases are only 3” away from the Shark base it may have been responsible for the confusion it experienced.

    • @danielthan44

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  Před 4 lety +1

      @@danielthan44 So I did another test off camera with the same amount of 1.5 lbs beads, I realized the robot can technically pickup all the beads if it had a dirt full sensor. What happening is the bin is getting over filled with beads and spilling back into the brush roll area which is causing the brush roll to stop spinning. The bin on the robot is very small maybe a 1/2 cup so the robot needs to constantly return to the self emptying bin to prevent over flow.

    I have to admit I was very impressed by your stress test on these robot vacuums. However, you have to pay extra that was left out for filter, and the bags for Roombas. This is where they make a lot of money from you. There bins get filled up really fast and they’re very small bags not like a standard vacuum bag. Also, that’s a lot of skittles. You should be testing more on sand, dust and hair in this video. Nobody has skittles all over floor like that unless you had a party at your house and people were drinking and spilled a 20 Oz bag of skittles all over the wood floor.

So I decided to map the house without vacuuming by removing the rotator brush. It does not detect it missing and runs normally, I keep the setting on ECO and let it go map the house it came back on its own to empty out and it made it back to the base (which is in another room) without hitting anything and docked, then returned back to where it left off. Boy! was that impressive.and at the hour it returned to charge flawlessly. but did not finish a map even mapping rooms multiple times Still impressive for the first time. I had a nerd question for the iRobot team. Had a power outage while at work. It happened well after my Roomba completed a cleaning run so I had a few questions.
    Me: What happens if my S9+ is out cleaning and the power goes out. When it returns to the base, it will not be able to unload the bin. Will the robot still be able to dock? When the power returns, will the robot automatically unload the contents of the bin since power will be restored to the base?
    Response from iRobot: This is a great question! Roomba relies on an infrared signal sent out from the home base. This allows the robot to see the base, and navigate towards it. With the power hypothetically being out, this signal would be lost. Roomba can still run cleaning missions, until the battery is depleted. He would return back to the starting point in this instance.
    Additionally, the Evacuation process happens when the robot docks on the home base, and the vacuum motor inside of the base kicks on. This would not be possible if the power was out, as this requires electricity to power the motor.
    If your robot is still running a mission when the power turns back on, he would simply now be able to see the infrared signal, and head to the home base when he is ready to empty or charge up.
    If the robot finished the mission during the outage. You would be able to send him home by pressing the clean button to begin a new mission, and then pressing the Dock/Home button to send him to the Clean Base.
    Additionally, any time your robot returns to the Clean Base, he would attempt to empty himself. So with that said, yes the robot would try to dock/empty himself when the power is restored.
    We hope that helped to answer the questions you had regarding your robot and power outages.

      @RobotMasters  Před 4 lety +1

      Yep they explained that perfectly, now you could always hook up your self emptying bin to a UPS backup battery, like a computer backup system and there should be enough juice to run the Vacuum motor to empty out the bin and depending on the size of the UPS enough to charge as well 😆

      @@Slick1020 I see, I usually do an area one at a time on High Power Mode, rarely have the robot do the entire house because of all the cords and toys laying around, have a 3 year old and Adult Kid running around 🤭

    • @RobotMasters

      No the S9 is on the left and the I7 on the right, the robot will remember which bin it has and the bins are not interchangeable

      @@mifthasadik8703 Actually, the base for the Roombas emit an infrared signal so the robot knows where to dock. They always know where their bases are located. When I leave my house, I don't leave any lights on. So my S9+ cleans in the dark while I'm at work and docks back home perfectly.

    So far so good with this vacuum. czcams.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
