About Maude: Gutsy, smart, outspoken, and liberal -- all are terms that describe Beatrice Arthur in the title role of the TV series that spun off from the popular All in the Family. Well-educated and upper-middle-class, Maude Findlay is the archetypal feminist of her generation. She lives in suburban Tuckahoe, New York, with her fourth husband, Walter (Bill Macy), their divorced daughter, Carol (Adrienne Barbeau), and grandson Phillip. The cast also includes Rue McClanahan as Maude's best friend Vivian; Walter's best friend and neighbor Dr. Arthur Harmon (Conrad Bain); and over the course of the series, three different maids (Esther Rolle, Hermione Baddeley and Marlene Warfield). Tough issues like abortion, alcoholism, women's liberation, menopause and politics are all fodder for the show's sharp wit and social commentary.

TFTI (thanks for the information).
This is Maude, not Good Times
@stevenortiz2493,
“GOOD TIMES” spun off from “MAUDE”.
Life was a million times better before social media existed
yet here you are.
I like landlines.
Viva the manual typewriters.
True
So far so good.
“I told you I was married!” “Yeah, you didn’t tell me you was THAT married!” Classic!!
Gadzooks!
Rue McCleahan is a great comic actress.
And a beauty to boot!🎉😂
She should have been Dulcinea in the Broadway version of “MAN OF LA MANCHA”.
I sure do miss the 1970's.
A good decade, but too much bad inflation that stretched into the 1980s, and now that inflation is back with a vengeance.
Especially the inflation, I assume?
@@user-wi6sh6vh8uGood evening 🌆 Less crimes.🔫
The 70’s was great!
Too bad that Nixon authorized for the return of the privatized ownership of gold bullion.
Just absolutely and totally ruined our nation’s economy.
Think of all the awesome shows from the 70’s that are represented in this one episode. Those were the days.
His name was James
“You call yo brother cause you gone need some help”
LOL LOL
How did this pow-wow become a Harlem gang brawl?
I triple dog dare you to say that you’re LMGDSOBMFAO?!
Dancing the jive turkey - apart from each other, is hardly cheating. Florida would never sleep with another man. Henry is 🔥
Some of the younger Casanova types just appear to be too big for their britches at times.
When James was Henry...sigh - mem'ries!
How do we know that his birth certificate didn’t read James Henry Evans?
@user-wi6sh6vh8u that's what I assumed 🤷♀️
And Wanda was Stella, lol. Love it
And also don’t forget that they’re all related to Pearl from “227”?!
RIP Donny Hathaway who sang this theme song.🎶 The guy is Ron Glass from Barney Miller.
Definitely.
She didn’t cheat, she was dancing
I love Maude my favorite TV show of all time ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤📺📺📺📺📡📡
destineetyson7756,
Can you possibly imagine how it would look if Maude found herself in a verbal showdown with Captain John Sebastian Cain the Sheriff of Bishop County, Georgia, USA, from the classic 1979-81 NBC adventure comedy series of “BJ & THE BEAR” all because Captain Cain gave a speeding ticket to Walter???!!!
Heyyyy Naw, Get it Florida, Lol Lol Thanks For Posting, I LOVE MAUDE, But THIS HERE is My Favorite Episode....
It’s worse than when Maude found out that Walter had invested in some ghetto real estate.
@@user-wi6sh6vh8u EXACTLY, Lol
I watched this show back in the day
Likewise.
The late great ron glass
Now he belongs to the ages.
@@user-wi6sh6vh8u Okay...
I loved him on Barney Miller
Likewise.
Wow what a great episode John Amos is Henry on Maude. The Plummer was played by Ron Glass. Wow Florida cheating this was ridiculous they was dancing. They made up
yeah but then Florida and James would cross paths with his look- a-likes (Michael's Principal and a blind encyclopedia salesman) on Good Times.
Mr. Fulton the repairman is obviously a 1ST Cousin to NYPD Plainclothes Detective Ron Harris of “BARNEY MILLER”.
Eventually, they did run into other relatives of Detective Harris under the circumstances.
@@1talldaddy I know Louis Gossett played Thelma older boyfriend who asked to marry her. Then he played Florida brother
Talk about total kookiness.
“The lady is sho” 🤣
More or less.
Maude, Good Times, and The Jefferson’s had the best theme songs. RIP to Donny Hathaway for this smooth recording
Likewise.
That them song is kicking.
And it does have a car chase scene quality rhythm to it.
My Boy John Amos
Right on.
I have the Maude box set, it’s amazing without commercials and little moments that’s missed bc of TV and those commercials
One of my Favorites ! Love Bea A
Michelina22,
Can you possibly imagine Maude in a verbal showdown with Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo of Orly County, Georgia, USA from the classic 1979-81 NBC adventure comedy series titled “THE MISADVENTURES OF SHERIFF LOBO” after Deputy Perkins has given Walter a speeding ticket?
I'm jealous....
Gadzooks!
I don't remember this episode with James/Henery, looks like the start of the good times " Evans"
Before the tv audience was introduced to J.J., Michael, Thelma, Willona, and Bookman, among others?!
SPIN OFF IN UR FACE
My mom reminds me of Maude😂
Unusual.
Miss the 1970s....I guess I knew less, we all did....when the world was big...not with the net, the world is a lot smaller
And remember the inflation rate that we had to put up with?
It’s back with a vengeance.
Beautiful said
So far so good.
Damn! Damn! Damn!
I’d save those words for Aunt Esther of “SANFORD & SON”, if I were you?!
If only Detective Harris of the NYPD 12TH Precinct had learned what his relative did to lose out on some well needed funds from repair work.
😂😂😂😂 I love this
DITTO!
Superfly gots some words with the "gift of gab".
John Amos is Henry on Maude but James on Good Times??
It’s just possible that his birth certificate reads James Henry Evans.
😂
It’s a possibility.
@@user-wi6sh6vh8u😂
I am watching this on July 5th and really enjoyed the interview and realized how much I miss your podcasts. Take care Richard.
Possibly.
I love how they're ragging on Jesus Christ superstar for having a black villain. This show was pretty hip for it's day
Typecasting for the role of Judas.
Esther really hesitated on her dialogue. She sounded underprepared. Weird unless this was aired live, which I don’t think it was.
It was recorded live.
Best show
Next to both “BLOSSOM” and “SQUARE PEGS”.
Stella is far away from 227 😂😂😂😂
Its that Donny Hathaway singing?
Yes
Thats Pearl from 227!
Great show!
Ranks right on up there with “VEGA$”.
Maude was such a handsome lady
Except for when she was in confrontation with Archie Bunker.
Females can't be handsome...lol
🥰🥰🥰🥰🎈🎈
Possibly.
Wait… is that Blanche 14:28 ????
yeah that's her.
Too bad that Florida never got to meet up with Sophia.
📺 🥰🥰🥰😇😇😇

Unusual, isn’t it?

OMG 😂😂😂
JAMES ONLY 1 THAT COULD GET THE POINT ACROSS 2 THE PLUMBER (HENRY-EDIT)
OMG 😲 ❤

Whats the date this aired?? And did that brother have a cellphone around the 12 minute mark...???
Transitor radio, pocket size. You're welcome!😊

@@mjb3694I remember having my little orange plastic transistor radio with a wh te wrist strap, carried it everywhere all summer, took a single 9volt square battery, I listened to CKLW and WMMS!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
No😮
Good grief!
Wonder why Henry became James?
Helen martin from 227 guest stars
You don’t mess with Kunta’s lady.
Terrible she s harassed
At 22:00 Carol thinks her married to Walter mother kissing another man is equal to widowed Arthur pinching the divorced Carol? Was she drinking before she made that comment?
No, She just was clearly correct.
Not quite that early in the morning.
Obviously it looks like the after effects of a hangover to me.
At this point in time, Arthur was widowed with the passing of his wife Agnes.
However, he would wed Vivian soon enough.
Funny how no means no means nothing to this guy !
Exactly.
1 John 2:16-17 KJV
[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Great Caesar’s Ghost!
I cannot tell why but to me this is the worst theme song of any sitcome EVER!!!
