This was movie was played a lot on late night TV when I was a kid. It has gotten me more interested in the history of how things were in the old days. Baseball was such a big thing in American culture no matter who you were.
Reminds me of my childhood in those days when the entire family watched this movie with a large paper-grocery-bag full of freshly cooked hot buttered popcorn. 😊
I'm about 15 minutes in, and it looks like Billy Dee Williams and James Earl Jones are going to make a deal... I expect James Earl will alter that deal, and Billy Dee will have to pray he doesn't alter it any further...

Thanks for the heads up...I only lasted 10 minutes. Good actors, but even the best actors can't do much with a bad script. Might have been a good story if someone knew how to tell a story. Might have even made a good movie if they knew how to translate the written word into the spoken word. All around, it's easy to see why I've never even heard of this movie until now...and now I wish I could still say I've never heard of it, much less seen part of it.
