About Maude: Gutsy, smart, outspoken, and liberal -- all are terms that describe Beatrice Arthur in the title role of the TV series that spun off from the popular All in the Family. Well-educated and upper-middle-class, Maude Findlay is the archetypal feminist of her generation. She lives in suburban Tuckahoe, New York, with her fourth husband, Walter (Bill Macy), their divorced daughter, Carol (Adrienne Barbeau), and grandson Phillip. The cast also includes Rue McClanahan as Maude's best friend Vivian; Walter's best friend and neighbor Dr. Arthur Harmon (Conrad Bain); and over the course of the series, three different maids (Esther Rolle, Hermione Baddeley and Marlene Warfield). Tough issues like abortion, alcoholism, women's liberation, menopause and politics are all fodder for the show's sharp wit and social commentary.

Not just “scenes,” great ENTIRE episodes like this! Love these. Thank you for sharing these timeless classics!
Obviously.
Only Bea Arthur could get a laugh with her back to the audience by shifting her weight and touching her collar 😂😂😂😂
More or less.
Never watched this show until now. I am pleasantly surprised to see Donny Hathaway did the show's theme song.
@nkashamasankofa1114,
How would you possibly describe the final outcome of a verbal confrontation between Maude and Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo of Orly County, Georgia, from both of the classic 1979-81 NBC action adventure comedy series’ “BJ & THE BEAR” and “THE MISADVENTURES OF SHERIFF LOBO”?
one of the best classic shows amazing actors the world needs more of this in todays society
Now that’s the spirit.
I love Maude episodes!!!
@alicianason-yf8sc,
I like “MAUDE” episodes, too.
Anyway, just how would you possibly describe the final outcome of a verbal confrontation between Maude and Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo of Orly County, Georgia?
@@user-wi6sh6vh8uget a life jethro
Blanche would never react that way ! 😂😂
Apparently not.
She would've loved this.
Only if she still had dear departed George with her.
the character is not blanche, its the actor Rue MacClahan, why would they act the same ?
@@malcolmcarroll9497 Because they do
They are such good actors and Bea's monologue of Chester's accident was *chef's kiss!
Heavens to hemlock.
From the vantage point of 2024, it is interesting to compare and contrast the characters of Vivian Harmon and Blanche Devereaux. And the shot of the deer's head, between Maude and Walter was inspired, like it's saying "Whaaaat!?!?!?!?!"
@jeraldbaxter3532,
Vivian Harmon and Blanche Devereaux are biological 1ST Cousins.
Vivian and Blanche are 1ST Cousins.
This has to be my favorite episode that I don't remember watching!! I was probably 12 or so when this aired, and I'd remember this for sure if I watched it with my parents....I can just imagine 🤣🤣
@lisalynnmarie2448,
How would you possibly describe the final outcome of a verbal confrontation between Maude and Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane of Hazzard County?
@@user-wi6sh6vh8u What does that have to do with finding this episode hilarious and knowing I probably watched this episode with my parents but just can't remember? Also, I despised Dukes of Hazzard.
I like “MAUDE” a lot!
Ok, Maude doesn’t have to be in a verbal confrontation with Rosco.
How about possibly we substitute him with Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo from neighboring Orly County?
@@user-wi6sh6vh8u No thanks, Ms. Cooper. I'm not immature.
I was 8 in 1976.
I ❤ Maude/Bea Arthur.
But, I couldn't help but ❤ the Viv's blue door, so cute!
Good taste obviously.
such a great episode. thank you.
It’s a nice enough episode.
Yet, how would you possibly describe the final outcome of the verbal confrontation between Maude and Sergeant Beauregard Wiley of Winslow County, Georgia, from the second season of the classic 1979-81 NBC action adventure comedy series titled “BJ & THE BEAR”?
Leftovers!!! 🤣😆😂 I loved it, too!!
Likewise.
😮
"You'll hit me.." and then "So what?" That's a tight friendship.
I just watched this yesterday I have the complete DVD series 😂
With Bonus episodes?
Good for you.
More or less.
I bought the full series last year. And I just bought the full series of One Day At a time.
Is it streaming anywhere?
I loev this series
Not just funny but have to discuss society problem thx bea and norman
Likewise.
The clothes have so much more character, colour and tayloring. Used to think 70's clothes were too funky,
All the way.
Oh god one of my favourite episodes 😂
@emanabdelhamid7661,

My Mother and her twin sister would've come out of a coma to watch this show. Those two never missed an episode.
Possibly.
wish them speed recovery
Dorothy's sidelook😂😂 13:46
Obviously it looks like Dorothy Zbornak and Maude Findlay are possibly cousins.
It’s a possibility.
Feminine fulfillment is the 70s equivalent of todays “trad wives”
Now I have to look up Trad wife. 😂
Egads.
Gadzooks!
Gadzooks.
@@off-gridsimplyhappyrodriguez "Trad wife" is slang for "traditional wife".
Bea Arthur and Bill Macy are two special people. Great episode its often mentioned in rare interviews about the series.
Intriguing.
"Here I am talking about losing a friend of thirty years and all you can think about is beige meat!" Gotta love Maude.
Good grief.

I love this show 😂
Maude was a very good Show for me to watch.
@jaelinsmith5207,

what's wrong with having a spouse rub your feet?
Interesting point.
It’s disgusting
Sometimes it’s okay.
LOVE THIS SHOW ❤❤❤
Top notch.
Maude it’s a great show from blue pictures television.
Hmmm, I saw an early episode where Viv was just Walter's friend's wife. Now they have been close friends for 30 years. The 70's were loose on scripts.

You know Maude is right. ❤
11:50 That's Dick DeCoit. He played Cass McCray in Little House On The Prairie S04E11 "Meet Me At The Fair". The obnoxious Balloon Operator that had a thing for Mary.
Possibly.
Someone please explain to Maude that liberalism means freedom and openness. If Vivian choose submission that is HER choice. Maude may have had fewer divorces if she was more like Vivian.
omg Bea Arthur, amazing actress xoxo
@just4music687,
Can you possibly imagine how it would look if Blanche went to visit relatives in Hazzard County, Georgia, and Sophia, Dorothy, and Rose tagged along with her on the trip?
Walter, he is the Best character
Carol, would get my vote every time.
Hey. If they want to play Cowboy and Schoolmarm, that's just great.
Now that’s the spirit.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All the way.

Gadzooks!
Amazing.
Maude always had such a manly voice. She must of smoked a lot.
Archie was right about Maude. I can't stand her either.
Maude would even drive Dorothy loony.
I love this series
