I am and I'm not afraid to say it. Affirmative action does this to people, it makes them question if they earned it or not, which is why affirmative action is rediculous. There is a serious issue with victim mentality being forced onto black people, and it's unfortunate.

It seems that black people should be highly offended by the DEI initiatives and goals. Such an insult, as the Pastor stated. Also, most every commercial is mostly black people now, despite America being 13-15% black. I hate to break it to these virtue signaling companies, but all you’re doing is creating a bigger divide. I worked for a large defense contractor. They went thru a DEI experiment. They hired these consultants. We had several women who worked on sewing machines. Many were latino. Women would decorate around their work area. One woman had a small American flag on her sewing machine. One of the DEI consultants saw this, and told the woman she needs to remove it because it could offend the latinos. We literally had a 24 foot wide flag on the back wall of our plant. We had flags on many of our company shirts. We built products for the U.S. military. When word got the company president, which was fast, all of the DEI consultants were escortes off premisis, and the experiment ended.

Weird then that so many white people are so upset at attempts to include and protect black people, and weird that so many white people have recently worked together to ban the books written by black people from their children’s schools.
Also super weird that when black people tell us what their experiences are we refuse to believe them and actually get super mad that they’d have the audacity to suggest that things still remain a little dicey for them in a society that spent hundreds of years of kidnapping, torturing, murdering, and abusing them and even went to war so they could keep profiting from their forced labor. Of course things just silently healed up and there are no residual effects or latent harmful beliefs among the oppressors after labelling certain people as property and denying their freedom and dignity for generations. • @JacyndaMinor
      @JacyndaMinor Před 11 dny

Some people cope by denying that there was ever a problem in the first place. People need to believe that the world has rules, that life is fair and the world is just, that bad things happen to bad people and good things happen to good people, and that our choices are what determine our fate, not events beyond our control. We need to believe that our efforts are relevant, that we are autonomous and efficacious in what we do.
It’s easier at first to believe that they are strong and anyone else that can’t quietly persist through abuse is weak, and they despise that weakness. Sometimes accepting that you were powerless in a situation, knowing that people harmed you for no reason, that they had power over you, and seeing that the world you live in is fundamentally unjust while you have little to no means to change it- sometimes knowing these things to be true is so destabalizing to our psyche that the cognitive dissonance it brings makes day to day life difficult. Without proper context and alongside systemic gaslighting and apathy about whether you even deserve better treatment to begin with, it would be maddening to admit that truth and it’d unravel your sanity to try and parse it out alone.
Often times, especially when the accusation is particularly heinous, it’s so much easier to just blame the victims, and the contempt you feel towards the victim houses your contempt for the sin itself, bc if that victim had stayed quiet then (at least in your mind),that sin would’ve never happened. (With victims themselves that despise the victim, the contempt is for the version of themselves that “allowed” the evil to exist in the first place, bc again, without that victimization, the evil doesn’t exist. Without that acknowledgment, you don’t have to be that victim anymore. You get to be yourself and it grows into a competition in your mind between the victim, who makes you weak, and the aggressor, who has the power and if the sin never took place, the aggressor is both strong and innocent and that is empowering.
Being a victim is so hated in our society we hate ourselves for becoming one, even when we know what happened we will still attack the version of ourselves that was there and “allowed” this sin to take place. It’s also a place to put that anger that comes from having your power taken from you.

    And snow white turtle doves
I'd like to teach the world to sing
    In perfect harmony
I'd like to hold it in my arms
    And keep it company
I'd like to see the world for once
    All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
For peace through out the land

What’s funny is that during this time the government was practicing redlining. Part of the building up of America and the strength and wealth of our country comes from the government backed home loans that guaranteed for everyday working Americans access to mortgages to actually _buy_ homes as an investment in their futures where they could build equity and create capital that would only increase with time, wealth that they could keep and then pass on to their kids. It is one of the biggest reasons why every generation’s lives and prospects improved over their parents’ (until millennials-) since the 50s. Home ownership is an essential step at the very bottom of the journey towards financial freedom and stability, upward mobility and safety.
So redlining was the official practice of going into maps and finding the black neighborhoods and crossing them out, or _redlining_ the areas, to disqualify them from this program. So even if a black family was able to find a bank that was willing to do business with them (which was a feat of its own) the system itself was set up to exclude them and sabotage the underwriting process.
So the irony of the “homes for everyone” here is just … funny?

The pastor is right. Don't lower the standards to fill a diversity quota. That's what they've been doing at Ivy League schools for the past several years now. They lowered the SAT score requirements just to fulfill affirmative action requirements to allow more black and Hispanic students to be accepted into these institutions. Instead of accepting students who scored high on their SATs regardless of race. This was never about white and Asian students being more likely to be accepted into Ivy League schools. It was about lowering the standards to accept more minority students.

When I finally got medical care for the electrical burn I was told by the doctor it shouldn't hurt it's just white rage I am experiencing and not pain. I think that was around the time I started getting confused and less confident. A doctor from Europe saved my life with a better treatment plan. I couldn't believe how it went like that. I've tried to move on in life and be grateful for treatments but so much went wrong. To feel let down by engineers and doctors. I am what's left. 'Earn while you learn apprenticeship can't be beat!' said the flyer. I sure did learn a lot. Like how an electrical burn can cause a body wide immune disorder if not treated properly. I am amazed I survived it but it's been a very hard fight. The electrician who was with me said I earned the title spark for life. 'This is what we deal with working for the city dcr' he said. Someone said I should write a book. Would it matter? I just make a few comments.
