You can tell in the first picture that Loki really loves Leo. He was closing his eyes and cherishing the hug. So precious! And what you said about the feeling of being safe and loved after a tough time in life and you wished more dogs could experience it really hit home with me. It’s why I foster and why I’m super picky where the dogs go. I treat them like my own family.
Every little boy needs that special friend and both Leo and Loki will always have that special bond.

Omg your dog looks so much like my dog. He’s 9 years old now and the boys have grown , graduated college and moved out. Jaco has been there for all of us. He’s my dog now and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world.

I'm in my 60's and I still remember our two labs when I was 5, Carmen and Aida...they were the best and I used to have conferences with them underneath the table in our living room...they were the best. So, it's true, that little boy will remember this new dog, and probably the two danes as well, for the rest of his life...what a gift!
Those first four seconds and those eyes…yes. The rest of the video is heartwarming and wonderful and much appreciated, thank you. As a foster doggy parent, it’s those first four seconds that really communicate when the pup knows.

Being at a shelter is just like being at the prison in my opinion. In the prison, you get fed, have break times and activity times, interact with other people just like dogs at the shelter. The major similarity are freedom, love and peace which cannot be gotten at those two places. Adopt adopt.... please adopt!!

There is so many animals in shelters that just want to be loved and have lots of love to give. When you adopt a pet from a shelter that animal understands that you saved him or her and will show you how much they appreciate it.

Lucky Leo! How I wanted a dog of my own when I was a kid 😊 you have a big heart for your son, and for the dogs.
There’s Nothing like a child being raised alone side a good dog. They learn so much from each other and help get each other into trouble. The bond my 2yr old son had with His puppy was truly special. If I was looking for one the other was right there next to him. Kids that grow up with that close family friend learn what loyalty is long before they could ever explain it. That loyalty can shape their lives.
