    We've known we get uplift with small fans (relative to their size) especially in restricted flow situations, since they have a higher static pressure. Though the power use is high...And you hear the noise. The reasons for the higher static pressure is the thickness to diameter ratio, and the ratio of the motor hub diameter to the fan diameter.

    • @STSYT
      @STSYT  Před rokem +2

    I usually modify small fans like this as a hobby. For example, take a 0.09A fan, rewind the stator but keep the original controller and make it have the same performance as these artics. The noise from these microfans is truly deafening. I imagine 9 of these working together less than 1 meter away from you, it's definitely R.I.P. for the ears!

    Please please please do not look down on "Delta whatever" fans you just mentioned. They are the brand many server brands use and hell they work in those RPMs for decades. Replacing them with Noctua, Arctic or whatever brand will give you some quiet for a limited time. Servers/switches/routers are ment to endure long durations of heavy duty loads with many different environment situations with those "Deltas" . I bought a few for my DIY projects and would love to get my hands on any other model only if Delta would release products for end user market. I have spent 2 decades in data centers, I know how they sound and I know who they are.
    I have recently used Arctic II Freezer and a dozen of their fans in my new PC builts. They are amazing and quiet. Still, if I can get a chance my hands on 12/14CM Deltas I would not hesitate. Papst and Delta are the long running kings. Try to find decent models of those two for your next video for comparison? Just a suggestion...

    • @netorodrigs2100
      @netorodrigs2100 Před měsícem

      I agree too. I don't have an industrial fan like those of servers, but I have had a Delta blower working on my notebook for over 2 years, and it was only after completing the two years that I opened the blower to clean it - a radial fan suffers serious damage to the bearing if has dirt accumulated on its blades, as it takes away from the rotor's balance - and add grease to extend its useful life. I say these things because I already had a note with a Foxconn blower and it was real rubbish.

      I used it as a main driver years ago. But had to replace it because Linux doesn't did not get along with R.A.T stuff at the time.
      Fun fact: For some reason, every window + Taskbar + Desktop on Linux was kinda it's own layer of "clickable". When using that mouse, you would be locked to ONLY one of these layers. One of the buttons on the mouse controlled which layer you were in a round-robin way. So you tried to click something, but actually you clicked behind said window. You still saw the cursor floating above everything, but you clicked right through every layer until the one you were in.
      Tried solving it with various Mouse-remaps, weird software and whatnot, but it always broke and I had to go back and click the "layer" button a dozen times before I was able to do what I wanted to do in a specific window.
      It was wild.
