    After your reviews mate, i bought F14 for my oldschool case top roof area on 2x for heat out. Absoluty beast! with bios automatic fan balance settings. Cant hear those and so so cold in my case. Total case heat drop from 60-65c to 52-55. And i am using 4 years Artic Freezer 33CO cpu cooler, other beast to!... Thanks for review. Have a nice night mate. really thanks again.

    If you were to stack the F14 and P14 in series without an obstruction between the two fans, Which fan would be in front?
    With an obstruction between the two fans I presume the P14 would go in front as it would better force air through the obstacle into the F14.

  • @NGreedia
    @NGreedia Před rokem

    I finally got a pack of F14 fans and they are really underrated. Noise to performance they are really quiet and have decent air flow for unobstructed air movement and great for case fan function while the p14 are great for radiators and heatsinks. Even if the max rpm was higher, I don’t think it would be very loud. 1500 rpm would be fine as it would compete with a thermalright 140mm fan which spins at 1500 but still quiet.
    When comparing it to my Fractal Aspect 14 PWM, at 1350RPM, the F14 seems to push more air at a much lower noise level than the Fractal at 1700RPM while being much quieter. They really nailed it with this fan

    Thanks for the great comparison. The CM sickleflow fans results are very interesting, especially compared with noctua fans. Do you mind sharing a bit about your testing methodology, like ambient temperatures throughout testing.
    I also wanted to say, in future, could you please make the legend label and axis label larger on your line charts, like "fan benchmark by pwm" and "fan benchmark by C[deg]". Was very hard to read, especially for people watching from phones

    • @STSYT
      @STSYT  Před 2 lety

      You're Welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
      So we are testing inside a temperature controlled room at 23°C ambient. The test is performed inside an Azza Hive with an 3600x locked at 3.26Ghz and 1.1vCore.
      On top of the CPU is a Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2.
      We remove the fan of the CPU cooler and install 2x Fans in the Front as Intake and 1x in the back as exhaust.
      The missing CPU fan helps us to overexaggerate the results so that we are able to find a real difference between the good and bad fans.
      In the beginning we tried testing in a normal setup with a bigger cooler. But we quickly found that the difference was negligible at best as the CPU cooler was doing 90% of the work.
      The CPU underclocking came to be because otherwise only the very best Case Fans were able to finish the test.
      Thanks for the tip! The F12/F14/SOHO AR Fan Reviews got new the newer graphs, and you're right. For the next chunk of reviews it'll be bigger.

    Bit of a misleading test if people aren't paying attention. The F14 is really just meant to push air in a cone while the P14 is pushing air in a spiral At 100% speed the P14 is strong enough to reach the fanless heatsink and move the hot air away, at 50% where the F14 wins and P14 is behind just shows that the F14 is effective at moving hot air out of the case no matter where that air is since its not targeting any particular area. P14 like you said is better where high static pressure is needed like radiators or against dust filters.

    I have a Kraken Z63 cooler with fans pushing through the radiator out of the top of a Corsair Obsidian 750D (non airflow edition) with 1 rear exhaust and 2 front intake 140MM fans for cooling. Would you say go F14 for case fans and P14 for rad fans? Or go all out with 5 P14s? I plan on moving to a Fractal Design Define 7 when it becomes available. I could get a third front 140mm fan in that case if I really wanted. Hoping you can provide some insight! Thanks in advance!

    Hello I had a question, I have a corsair 4000d airflow case and I can't decide if I should get 2x140mm (Artic F14s) as intake or 3x120mm like maybe sickleflow or Artic p12s. Can you suggest?

    • @STSYT
      @STSYT  Před 2 lety +4

      Personally, I would go for 2x F14.
      The 4000d's front panel looks like "air-passthrough-y" enough to take advantage of the F-Series instead of the P-Series.
      From there you can set them to spin at very slow speeds, basically just wiggling in there, which should still provide enough air for your interior.
      Hope this helps :)

    @STS I was looking at the P12/F12 and P14/F14 coolers to build an aquarium cooler by mounting 3 or 4 of them on an aluminum frame and set it up directly on one side of the aquarium (about 100 liter). So I was wondering which one would cool the water by more degrees (I need at least 3-4 deg cooler water for the Axolotl)?
    P12 which has higher 1800 RPM or the F12 which is only 1350 RPM, but approx the same CFM? Do you think higher static pressure (P12 in this case) is an important factor in such a use case? Thanks!

    • @STSYT
      @STSYT  Před 2 lety +2

      Hard choice.
      I wouldn't go for F12's anyway, P12's will be better no matter what.
      So we're looking at 3x P12's or 2x F14's.
      Normally I would say go for 2x F14's. Which should also be the better option for Noise/Performance.
      The issue is that the mesh in your case will let you see the fans from the front. And if you don't use the bottom spot due to 2x 140mm fans, it will look weird.
      So I would go with 3x P12's.

    Because the only 3060 ti i was able to afford was a Gigabyte Eagle and it has legendary bad cooling solution i would like to buy some extra case fans. My case is a BQ Silent Base 800 with the stock 2 silent wing front and 1 in the back. I believe installing 2 140mm top (exhaust) fan can decrease the vga's temp plus maybe a 120mm side (intake) fan. What is your opinion? Which ones should i buy? Thank you in advance!

    • @STSYT
      @STSYT  Před 2 lety

      I doubt that the 2 exhaust fans in the top will make a big difference. Sure maybe they'll get the average in-case temp down a degree or two, but the GPU won't loose the same amount.
      The side-fan could be a good option though. Try putting a P12 PWM PST on the side. If (until now) you only have that one exhaust fan in the back, get a value-pack of them and try putting a pair in the top as well (more will never hurt)
