[EDIT: guys, the U-cut is on purpose, it’s historically accurate and helps with styling. I was only surprised that I ended up with U-shape when I was just trying to quickly cut all of the hair, but that didn’t matter since the final effect was supposed to be a U-cut anyway!] lol I think I used the thinning scissors upside down

@@maderaverdes I had to insist that a hairdresser give me a 20s bob style (not that it turned out like one). She kept saying how she wouldn't do it because my hair is curly/wavy. I pointed out that I knew that my model's hair was also naturally curly. She kept insisting that "it will bounce up". Not if you cut it to the correct length, it won't. She eventually did it and while it looked more "professionally done" (but not like me) when she styled it, the difference between this and the cut I gave myself last time when in its natural state as well as pin curled? It's very minimal and my own cut was probably more vintage because she clearly just gave me a modern bob. I swear, they used to know how to cut curly/wavy hair short (we have plenty of photos and footage as proof) but the skill has been lost when it was decided that only straight hair is beautiful, all these heat tools were invented and hairdressers started not being able to dry cut (or only dry cut if it involves straightening) to save their lives. I'm going to cut it by myself again next time. Might as well do some research while we are back in lockdown AGAIN.

Back in the old days (before photoshop), we would test a new look by cutting the face out of a magazine photo, then looking through it at ourselves in a mirror. Or, if the magazine photo was the right size, we would lay the cut out over a photo of ourselves. Photoshop definitely works better!
ohhh man, memories! You could also take a photo of yourself and cut out pieces of paper similar to the background color to cover parts of your hair and see how you'd look.
Earlier this week a huge brown bird, either a hawk or an eagle, flew over my back yard carrying a dead cat or squirrel or something while being mobbed by blue jays. I did not let my cat into the back yard that day.
I have PCOS. I actually got very ill and that started to happen to me once. I used that powder stuff to help it look thicker and it worked amazing. Eventually I recovered and my hair grew back but I still use it occasionally because my hair is very fine.
@@WeRNthisToGetHer I have fine and dry hair, plus psoriasis. It's a terrible combination. I try to use oils and stuff to keep it hydrated but I never really gotten into the habit of using powder... I'm curious, what exactly do you use?
Do you have a condition? Or getting enough nutrients? Could be a lot of reasons. But yeah I have fine hair so I definitely need as much hair as I can keep lol.
LOL I think my favorite part is the dancing at the end! I was amazed how beautiful your hair looked after you styled it. I thought for sure it was going to be too short, but it really was the perfect length for the style you wanted to achieve. Good job!
hairdresser here! you said you wanted it to be all the same length but it still turned out U shaped. it looks like you were over directing the hair from the back to the front, which would result in it being longer than the hair at the front as it travels further to reach the guide you set in the front. if you want it all the same length it has to be combed straight down, not on a diagonal, but this is hard to do on yourself so i would recommend cutting the front yourself to set the length guide then maybe getting someone to help you for the back? either way i support u in your endeavour, hope this helped
Me, a licensed hairdresser: I shouldn't watch this. Also me: Watches anyway. Not bad. Also, usually when people cut their own hair it ends up in the U shape because you're pulling all the hair forward so you can see it. At least that's what you're usually trying to achieve. Most of the time when people come in wanting a stylist to fix it they're horrified.
I did the same thing a couple of years ago, then I realized that short hair can't just be washed "on the go", nor left alone and needs mandatory styling to be decent. I was a mess, there was no way I could be ready before 11 in the morning. I'm back to my long basic straight/wavy style with middle part... when I am inspired, I have the audacity to let it naturally curled with some gel and diffuser, but you just showed me how much I lack discipline and originality. Needless to say, you're gorgeous with this length.
I have hip length mostly straight hair with a wherever-my-hair-decides-to-fall-of-its-own-volition part. Because effort. Don't want any of it. I either leave it down, or if doing something where I need it out of the way it goes in a ponytail (say if cooking or I leave the house, which is rarely - has been rare since 2012) or if tidying then a bun. Gel burns my skin because I'm allergic to everything and never did anything other than make my hair flatter, and I have no idea what a diffuser is. So you win between us in the "I give a damn" stakes I think. You didn't mention how often you wash your hair. For me that's once a fortnight, or sometimes once a week, but no more than that. And then sometimes I just forget about the whole washing hair thing and it ends up going longer. I do actually really need to wash my hair now which I swear I'll get to any day now. Kinda keep forgetting to do it. I last washed it in March when I had an appointment to go to. So like, unless you can match that level of lack of discipline.... ROFL

I have had so many hairdressing disasters that when my hairdresser for almost 20 years had a stroke I could not bear to find a replacement for him. I have a blunt cut and bangs, how difficult is that? 😄
karolina you're so beautiful and this haircut suits you beyond what i expected to be honest. it's so nice and you've done a great job for a "can't be bothered" or "improv" haircut. i cut my own hair but it's almost as long as yours was before you cut it. i'm not so brave as to cut it that short.

I feel validated that my meme mum also will watch movies and see a hairstyle that she likes, and base her decision to cut her hair on that. With me it was watching Beetlejuice for the first time and seeing Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and NEEDING to cut my bangs the same way. And I did. And I love it. So thank you meme mum, for being so wonderful yet again ❤️
I feel this. I watched Victor/Victoria in high school and was blown away by Julie Andrews with her slicked back short men's cut. I cut my hair short because of it and prefer it short even now. Every time I watch the movie I'm still like g o s h that hair is so mint.
Crazy... I want to dye my hair black because of Winona Ryder as Lydia being a goth 😹 and I'm kinda digging the blunt bangs she has in the film, not enough for me to want them, but enough for me to love them on others!
I have very thick hair and honestly when I let it grow I tend to look like Joe Keery... Whenever I see an ad for a product that strengthens and thickens the hair I'm asking myself "who the hell would want that". Every time I go to the barber I specifically ask for a thinning.
😆 maybe sit on it for a day or two but not too long. I fought with myself whether I should get a buzz cut or not for like two weeks and leaned on the side of not...then made an impulse decision in the middle of the day to just do it 🙃
I love it!!! Im still new to and learning about vintage hairstyles. I have thin/thick hair. Thick in real estate, super thin under a microscope. Plus my scalp is sensitive. So gives me a run for my money. But 30s-50s are my go to decades for style inspiration. So I appreciate the authenticity taken to create your new fab look meme mom
I love the short hair on you, when its uncurled as well! You rock this so well, making me wanna chop my long locks instead of the little trimming I do myself every few months.

With me it was watching Beetlejuice for the first time and seeing Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and NEEDING to cut my bangs the same way. And I did. And I love it. So thank you meme mum, for being so wonderful yet again ❤️
I watched the crocodile episode of black mirror and I was so obsessed with Mias hair I went and got it the next day
wynona is super cute. 🥰
I feel this. I watched Victor/Victoria in high school and was blown away by Julie Andrews with her slicked back short men's cut. I cut my hair short because of it and prefer it short even now. Every time I watch the movie I'm still like g o s h that hair is so mint.
Me watching Under the Skin and NEEDING Scarlet Johansson's haircut... during quarantine.
Crazy... I want to dye my hair black because of Winona Ryder as Lydia being a goth 😹 and I'm kinda digging the blunt bangs she has in the film, not enough for me to want them, but enough for me to love them on others!
as someone with thin hair, hearing someone willingly do "hair thinning" almost makes me cry. But you look gorgeous!
I have very thick hair and honestly when I let it grow I tend to look like Joe Keery... Whenever I see an ad for a product that strengthens and thickens the hair I'm asking myself "who the hell would want that". Every time I go to the barber I specifically ask for a thinning.
i have literally the same hair type you have, and i'm seriously gonna need your shampoo routine and stuff , please
SAME👍👍👍
It's ADORABLE!!! So flattering! Well done!
"...spontaneously at 3 AM."
*considering cutting my hair REALLY short at 12 AM*
Literally same lmao
Did ya
😆 maybe sit on it for a day or two but not too long. I fought with myself whether I should get a buzz cut or not for like two weeks and leaned on the side of not...then made an impulse decision in the middle of the day to just do it 🙃
All I can say is it was around 1 am when I shaved my head. Like all of it off (hair was around 10cm or so?) It was not a bad decision.
Lol yes I’ve done it many times 🤣such fun!
Instead of the 'cutting the hair' shock, we received the 'oh, the curls are damn tight' shock
there is one thing: you re such a gorgeous woman, so every hairstyle and outfits suit you!
You look stunning. Omg. Such a great job!
Is it me or did she end up looking like a young Queen Elizabeth II?
That's it exactly!! I knew it looked familiar.
Omg yeah LOL 😂
Yes my first tought exactly 😉
Yes she does.
You nailed it!
- a co chcesz?
- siku!
as a fellow Pole, I felt that.
Unfortunately I dont speak polish and I was wondering what that meant. Is it like "what do you want?" thing?
Uncle Wiley Yes. Siku means “pee” but in a very childlike way. It’s like:
- What do you want (to do)?
- ... Pee!
@@peculiarpelican7026 I am curious, what function does "a" serve in the first sentence?
@@aliveslice It's sth like "and"
I love it!!!
You rock this so well, making me wanna chop my long locks instead of the little trimming I do myself every few months.
i don't know why but everytime you smiled to the camera i smiled back
Me too! I even gave thumbs-up when it looked like she needed some reassurance!
you guys are really cute and wholesome and it's making me sick :( 😔
“A perfect specimen of a woman” is the PERFECT way to describe Norma Shearer. 😍
it looks amazing and soooo authentic!!
You are the only person I "know" that is capable of being in charge of her own image clothing and hairstyle without not having to pay big amount of money to look fabulous.
Its because shes naturally gorgeous
Goal: let my hair grow.
Obstacle: this video
FML 😂

I love you so much!!! Your personality reminds me of myself and I enjoy watching your videos a lot, Karolina!! ❤️❤️❤️
OK I'm getting massive young Elizabeth II vibes from the finished brushout and I cannot be the only one.
It looks so good on you!
she REALLY looks like lilibeth there
Aahh, you've hit the hair cutting phase of quarantine :P Maybe the 1918 pandemic is what led to those bobs and bingles :P :P :P
BINGLES
BINGLES ?!?!!??
WHAT ARE THOSE
@@AllTheCloudsArePink I think they meant shingles :P
That's so flattering! You look gorgeous!
After the rollers come out and a bit of brushing... MAGIC. Wow! It looks so good!
Morgan Donner: Let's try ancient hairstyles!
Karolina Mememom: Let's cut hair to accommodate 1930s hairstyles!
So much Hair today I love it :D
You made me look up Morgan Donner and now I'm going down the binge watching rabbithole...
Me: let's put my hair in a ponytail and leave it there for *four days*
It looks really nice 😊
I know, it’s great!
Omg! I totally thought that too!
*hair wet*

Video idea: Historical Accuracy of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Yasssss
That would be a wild, long ride considering any part of Jojo is just the 80's but in another time era.
I'm in.
Josuke is timeless
I don't know anything about Jojo, but here's a like
I know nothing about JJBA and I feel like everything I learn about it makes me know even less. Its historical???
i was trying to decide whether or not to cut my hair. then meme mom decided to and i was like “welp, it’s a sign”
your profile picture is elite
Oh lord, Mr Davidson...
WAT DO YOU WANT PAUL?
PAUL
It turned out so well!! Love it!!
Also, that style looks AMAZING on you! It really brings out your eyes, if that makes any sense whatsoever?
Ahh the finished look is so great!!!!
Waiting for Brad Mondo to react 😂
Oh yea! Where you at Brad Mondo?
Yuck
OMG YESSS That's what I was thinking throughout this whole thing!
Nooooo he rigged his hair dye test to favour professional dye and then his hair products had a fake vegan/cruelty free label. Please don't support Brad Mondo.
Mon dieu, getting more Joana Ceddia flashbacks
