Haytham:*gives a thorough and concise explanation
Connor: unfortunately sour grapes
"I expected naivety but... this"
Hahaha that’s hilarious sour grapes. 😂😂😂🍇🍇🍇
I’ve always said this I love I Connors personality, I do not think he’s boring at all but damn is he poorly written. Instead of providing any rebuttal he just does not listen and insults and it’s so hard to tell when it’s purposeful or just bad writing.
@Deivid-bn6yw well he's a poorly educated Native American; no shit he's bad at actually debating his posh, educated British daddy lmao
@@Deivid-bn6yw i think its actually good writing... i mean... i think he was just a kid... a kid that got training but basically still a kid... still had to learn a lot... i believe that's why he behaved like that... i finished this game yesterday for the first time and inmediately watched gaming wins video on it and understood many things more deeply
assassins creed went from being some of the best writings and dialogues that questions ones beliefs to literal cringe machines in the later games
Newer games also have really well written scenes (AC Valhalla : Basim telling Evior about his son, AC Mirage : Basim realizing who Nehal is/ Basim and Roshan's argument) but they are clouded by a load of scenes that weren't motion captured, that really undermines them
@IDRlFTERI exactly, if there's any well written and performed dialogues in the recent AC games, it'll just be ruined by the awful animations. It just doesn't have any life to it.
To be fair it's mostly a Ubisoft Quebec thing to write shit dialogue
dont forget the mythical beast & gods
@@jinmakarov8187 Mythical beasts and gods? You mean stuffs that has been established since ACII's Glyphs? lmao
People say Connor is a boring character who doesn’t listen to anyone but at heart he is really just a kid who doesn’t understand how the world works
He's basically new to the world
The problem is that people get frustrated with Connor's stubborn mentality because it's like a 5 year old's but that's the point. Connor grew physically very well but not so much mentally and emotionally due to being secluded for most of his life, to the point that he's so unaware of the complexity of the real world that he may as well be a 5 year old with a 6' killing machine body.
Connor wasn't convinced because Haytham uses too articulated words
@@justsomeguyinouterspace8623so was Ezio in the first game. He, unlike Connor, got a whole trilogy for character development. It’s not fair to judge Connor on one game where he couldn’t get fleshed out enough
@@KM-qk1oz Just to clarify, I wasn't bashing Connor. He's actually my first and favorite and I think it would be pretty cool to see a Connor who matured after seeing the true nature of the world, especially after that one cutscene at the end where he sees the slave auction.
Haytham: explaining everything logically and thouroughly.
Connor: *SOUR GRAPES*
Haythem was probably one of the best AC antagonists in the series.
Them grapes do be sour.....
I am not sure if y'all are just making jokes or don't know, but he is probably referencing a famous fable. I can't remember exactly but its about a fox who, try as he might, can't reach the juicy grapes hanging high up on a vine. So he just claims, without evidence, that the grapes are sour and not worth the effort and therefore leaves. When put into the context of their argument, it makes for a sensible retort. Haytham is claiming freedom is not peace but rather chaos, presumably because it is much harder to attain peace while maintaining people's freedom. Conner, therefore, retorts that equating freedom with chaos is like calling the grapes sour, i.e. claiming, without evidence, that a tough goal (freedom) is not worth pursuing because it is likely going to lead to a bad outcome (sour rather than juicy grapes = chaos rather than peace). Of course while the grapes may end up being sour, you can't know without trying.
The brevity of the retort opens the statement to misunderstanding or alternate interpretations but does not insult the intellect of the audience. This is why I appreciate such writing far more than writing in current games which often spell everything out which, while making everything super easy to understand, weakens the impact of the dialogue imo.
It's NOT logical lmao. It's highly ILLOGICAL
Big foot: “My people have lived in these woods for a thousand years off of berries and mushrooms.”
John Marston: *YOU EAT BABIES!*
Haytham: thorough and reasonable explanation
Connor: *womp womp*
LMAO
🤣🤣🤣

When I say it's the best AC game I have ever played, I mean it
@@IDRlFTERI PREACH‼️‼️‼️

The first clip genuinely shows how his assassin upbringing made Haytham the most 3 dimensional Templar. “Curiosity” is what led to Connor existing, a now living monument to the Assassin Blood within his veins, yet all Templars seek is “Order and Control,” it lets us know that unlike many in his creed he thinks very much for himself and enjoys to see things play out that are beyond his capability of altering. He wants freedom just as much as an Assassin deep down.
Exactly. Haytham and Shay are among the best Templars there ever have been. They've seen both sides in a more equal light.
You could argue that Shay joined the Templars simply because he wanted to stop Achilles, but he clearly believed in the cause enough to stay a Templar up until his death.
Friendly recommendation, but read Assassin Creed forsaken if you want more Haytham
@@minihalkoja590 The irony being that shay as a templar stayed true to the creed much better than Achilles ever did as an assassin
Except neither really want the same freedom as how the assassins want it. During Haytham’s fight, Haytham explains a lot of how he despises Americas ideals of “liberty”, that people cannot have power or ever want power as that of a king. Ultimately the Templars seek a higher leader to lead people to become a civilization of order and peace.
The Templars are more aligned with authoritarianism, rather than a democracy.
@@moongoalie2410 But is he wrong tho? People don't want to think for themselves. People don't want to become leaders themselves because it's too much of a responsability to bear. Most of them wanna be told what to do
I swear the look Arthur gives to the nun breaks my heart for some reason.
Dude the whole scene is ignition wire for my crying. What a colos of emotions.
It's because, for a brief moment, the strong character that we grew to know and love-the one who always seemed to have all the answers and was dependable-showed vulnerability. He didn't have the answer this time. He couldn't overpower the issue, outsmart, outgun, or outrun the problem. Nor could he look to his gang or anyone else for help. This time, he is forced to confront the inevitable fate that we all must face at some point in our lives, and he will be doing it alone; and for him, sadly, it's coming sooner rather than later. 😔
I liken it to seeing our own father's cry for the first time. A man, who is usually strong and stoic during adversity, showing vulnerability - it will pull at even the strongest or most jaded of heartstrings. I know it did mine.
You can actually feel Baldur’s pain in every scene he’s in. Such a great villain.

It's not just "voice acting", it's the whole performance, these are made with the actors wearing mocap suits and performing like they're being recorded with a camera on a set
Haytham is one of the best protagonist/antagonist in all of media imo. Very well voiced, excellent motives and still extremely likeable even as a “villain”
If you like villains like that, you should watch Vinland Saga anime if you haven't
Assassin's Creed Rogue is so underrated.
They need to make a Sequel that has Arno, Shay, and Connor all in it
I'm so mad I can't stand the series anymore. I started Rogue after Syndicate and I just couldn't suffer through the same recycled gameplay any more.
@@basicoptimalmouse I stopped playing after Origins. The games after that became bloated and repetitive.
RDR2 is an absolute masterpiece. Rockstar created one of the best stories and characters in gaming history...even better than many movies
One of the best stories in art history
And then they threw it all away, they created the best open world of any game, filled with the best environments, details, people and characters, and nothing was done to build on this afterwards. How Read Dead 2 didn't get any single player content (story DLC, Mexico, Undead Nightmare) has to go down as the biggest missed opportunity in gaming history. But hey, atleast we get a constant flow of microtransactions in GTAV online. 10/10 game, 0/10 management from Rockstar.
@@lolgo4gold I love rdr2 but I have to agree.
Game stories are already better than movies
@lolgo4gold yeah true. I'm sure a huge part of that comes from some of the main people from Rockstar Games leaving shortly after RDR2 released. Things definitely started to fall apart after that with the new people running Rockstar now
Change my mind but AC Storytelling was at its peak in Assassin's Creed III
💯💯💯💯💯
Still one of my favorite games i love the time its set in too
Black flag
@@Carribla nah black flag was great but I think III is still better.
Eh i prefer 4.
Also that scene where u find sindri in tyrs temple after brok dies
“I gave you everything: my skills, my friendship, my home, my secrets, my treasures and you just kept taking and now what have I got? Not even my family. You want sorry this is what sorry looks like”
Yea that's a really good scene, thanks for reminding me but the thing is I only have an Xbox and a PC, and God of War Ragnarok is still Playstation exclusive
@@IDRlFTERI no worries hopefully it comes on pc soon. Games with such good stories are very rare nowadays
I always saw sindri as a throw away C tier side character then he comes along with this scene and absolutely KILLS it
Aurther's scene with that nun was one of the best things i ever saw in a video game.
I’ve never stopped to appreciate just how freakin life like the models of people are in The Last of us. The eyes, the mouth, the muscular complexity…
…it’s just, perfection.
Truly, they must have blasted her actress's face with tracking dots to get those small muscle movements
@@IDRlFTERIwell they did
Impressive as it is I still feel the original looks better. There are micro expressions that give different context and feel to moments that they completely changed for “part 1” and mostly not for the better I feel.
RDR2 is by far the best game i've ever played🥲
Same brother same, 10 out of 10 in every way
@@IDRlFTERIAgreed❤
And the only game close second for me after RDR2 is The Witcher 3.
Overrated. its 9/10 for me bruh.
@@garrytalaroc Everyone has their own opinions mate
The "I'm afraid" remains one of the best gaming moments in my life. The kind of line that I'll always remember.
That scene from Spider-Man goes so crazy
The end of spiderman ps4 is probably the best voice acting ive ever heard. God of war 2018 and ragnarok have the best all around voice acting and mocap, but the ending of spidey is definitely the best individual performance.
The dynamic between Haytham and Connor is the best thing to come out of Assassins Creed since the story of the first game.
The fact that Otto Octavius is played by Rigby from regular show is still insane to me
The reason Connor wasn't convinced, was because Haytham uses too articulated words for his arguments. Connor just learned English
Or the fact that Haytham's argument was built on false principles of an authoritarian rule? Which Connor is vehemently(rightfully) against...
Connor wouldn't have been convinced either way.
@@nirjhar4803Except Haytham was alluding to the fact that the American Revolution was a bourgeois revolution rather than a revolution of the people, that the leaders of it sought to expand their business enterprise and enrich themselves but “dressed it with pretty words” (and considering how history plays out, he may have had a point)
Connor clearly knew English from childhood considering he uses it
@@chronica6457 He may have learned some, but what I remember is that he didn't speak any english before he met Achilles. That is where his real confrontation and learning journey began, according to what the game show for. It wouldn't have made much sense of Connor have a articulated vocabulary seeing his history and practicality.

You should put the assassins creed origins scene where bayek stabs the guy with the mask

Not Last of Us?
@@IDRlFTERIthat shit gay bro
This is why we all love Assasins Creed Black Flag, Rogue and III.
Top notch
I was genuinely expecting a meme but this IS actually peak voice acting.
“I’m afraid” coming from Arthur always always makes me tear up. It’s the mask finally coming off of a guy that acts tough and he shows his vulnerability in that moment.
The feel when u young and agree with the assassins. But then you grow up and agree with the templars
The line when he says you are not my daughter and I ain’t your father is an emotion in itself
great voice acting sounds like the actors pour their hearts into their roles
This isn't Voice acting, this IS acting.
honestly idk if ac rogue really belongs here. shay's va isn't bad, but achilles' actor was really phoning it in during that scene
Definitely not up to the other games in the video but how the motion capture acting has done in that scene is cinematic and really good, so Shay's va on top of that made me want to include it
Arthur admitting hes afriad while seeing the worry in his eyes just made me tear up on my first time playing cause sometimes i often feel the same way it takes a big man to admit that ❤
The delivery of "I'm afraid" was one of the most emotional moments of the entire game for me. I shed a bit of tears watching it now.
Thanks for including God of War. Truly fantastic art of voice acting and regular acting there
even the eye acting and facial expressions are on point. this gave us emotional connection to the game
3:56 “life is full of pain…but there is also love and beauty.”
the best line in the game idc
Connor: "Tell me something"
Haytham: "Something. Now no more needless babbling."
"I'm afraid" still chokes me up.
Benjamin church death speech from AC3 still gives me chills, makes you think if you are on the right side of things
It’s embarrassing that Rogue had shittier writing than III. Both III and even Black Flag to a degree gave us well written Templars that gave us genuine pause while still highlighting the good of the Assassins, but in Rogue they just made the Assassins brainless and evil for no reason and made all the Templars just unequivocally good people for no reason.
That’s what happens when you churn out a game in 6 something months
I’m afraid. That line sounds so genuine.
Man it doesn’t matter how many times I see Arther say he’s afraid it is gonna make me cry. Those guys put magic in that game
Arthur Morgan is literally the best character ever in any media for me
Yeah I don’t think anyone comes close.
Elliot Alderson from Mr. Robot, Saul Goodman from Better Call Saul and Zuko from Avatar are the only characters I'd put above Arthur.
This ain't voice acting this is straight up acting
I just completed AC Rogue and this video pops up in my feed 😊
That scene from RDR2 is probably my favourite videogame scene ever. No music, just pure superb acting, heaviness of the hard reality, perfect screenplay and great fuckin characters make it exceedingly memorable.
“I’m afraid.” -Arthur Morgan
That “Im afraid” Arthur gives made me tear up. Man i loved rdr2 story.
I want to climb Haytham like a tree.
Haytham and Joel is one of the most underrated characters in their respective games. It's mostly about Ezio, Ellie.
We got God of War and Spider-Man within 5 months of one another. Insane
Noah and Adrian play off each other so well. I love their dialogue during their final fight.
"You have no Idea what loss is." He was fucking right ...
Haytham isnt just predicted USA's future, he predicted the future of the countries established over the last 3 centuries
One of best example is Türkiye/Turkey's......there will local elections in march, they promise too much things but everyone know none of it will come true
*even as at assassin's side, i would join Haytham's templar order
yeah, the whole point in Haytham's argument is that the Assassin's lost their original values, they valued peace over everything else originally, and then the whole "freedom" thing started when Templars wanted "order"
Shay: Hey, the piece of eden destroyed portugal
Achilles: Nuh-uh
damn this is a good video
Glad you liked it
“You have no idea what loss is….” So much pain (Iykyk) there
For me the thing that wish they bring back is how cinematic the older games were, the while game felt like a movie at times.
Rare to find a video that isnt using that title ironically
Telltale Walking Dead, Clementine dreaming of Lee in the train
Otto’s “But I can fix it.” sounded so sinister. Just that one quick sentence tells you he’s still not fully himself.
He tried to talk him into his side every possible way he could
Beautiful compilation keep it up.
Thank you, I will
"Take a gamble that love exists and do a loving act."
I forgot how cool Haytham was, that man’s drip was fire
joel hit ellie with the "nuh uh"
Should have used John Bubniak's face model for the Spider Man clip
I will only play this AC since it came out I can’t even imagine another combat game being close to this one. The game mechanics make you feel like a true invincible assassin
i have no context for the clip from last of us, but i still felt my heart crack at that scene
The Last of Us scene will always be one of the most real and emotional scenes in TV and gaming history.
to this day, assassins creed 3 is still one of the most amazing stories ive ever experienced in a game
Facts
baldur's voice acting for GOW is another level than others
wait a minute, was that guy arguing against the creation of the usa in the beginning
I think it is no coincidence that none of the games depicted came out in recent time. How far we have fallen man. Such a shame.
More please
Part 2 coming up
this is my favorite part of the old assassins creed games.
It's a crime they switched from an absolute badass like Haytham to Connor as the protagonist. Haytham just steals every scene he's in.
Gosh... That RDR2 scene is just a masterpiece. No yelling, no tears, no music. Just a simple conversation, and yet I felt such peace inside after watching it...
Haytham: *Gives a brief explanation of what the Templar order wants, how the Assassins are stupid, and how the people are too dumb for their own sake*
Connor: Ah, sour grapes!
3:31
U know, I could see Brad Pitt playing Arthur Morgan if they ever made RDR into a live-action series.
Peak voice acting: Jimmy and Gary's argument on the school roof during the final showdown
i’d recommend hunt down the freeman. that’s some peak voice acting right there
We didn’t know how good we had it
It's so strange how people seem to have listened to this ACIII scene, which explains character motivations, and immediately side with Haytham because he's written to speak in an authoritative manner with a few clever words. Neither characters say much of substance. As Haytham says "may dress it up in pretty words, but that doesn't make it true".
oh man that first scene, assassins creed 3 was my like early teen/high school game, the templar/assassin dynamic was the best in all of the games I genuinely felt bad after killing each templar and hearing their side. what a underrated game especially compared to the trash they're releasing now
This makes me reminisce about the days of old...
When Assassin's Creed was good.
God I need to play this game again. I was so young when I played this I remember some sections including this one, hope it’s on pc as my Xbox was broken and I sold my ps3
Which game ?
I thought Haytham was the coolest character when I was a kid. Still do.
Well, the man is a 17th-century version of James Bond.
Balder is one of the best voices ever written and voiced. You literally hear in his voice that his mind is kinda gone, crazy even. The way the voice actor portrays him is very good.
when I have never played Last of Us, and even _I_ can quote the _cadence_ of "mighty thin ice".... you know you did something right!!
Haytham is by far one of the best characters in AC history. I miss when these games actually had something to say
Connor: deaf
Ellie: straight up idiot
Shay: a bit too eager to betray
Arthur: won't believe in himself
Peter: won't see when someone is not worth idolizing
Kratos: kratos
Let's be honest. AC3 was a masterpiece
Playing with high honor & doing side missions in RDR2 was all worth it just for that reconciliation scene with the nun
