Such a tragedy. The answer: Stay in Africa and fight to create a “Canada” in your own homeland. Demand that your African governments provide educational and job opportunities. You can’t solve Africa’s problems by running away and demanding that other countries provide for you.
Very good info. This show you love and respect your people. Tell them the truths they dont make the mistakes we made. In order to apply for asylum you must qualify. If not , you will be deported. People seek legal help before you make any move.
Please people don’t come in the winter time especially if you are planning to come and stay in a shelter unless you know someone who can help you . Not worth paying with your life.
It's not a refugee camp, this are shelter for people who are homeless.

What was falsely advertised. Are people promised that they will be given accommodation and food as soon as they arrive in the country? I’m sure that’s not the case.
Moving to a new country without anyone to receive you is a big mistake.

I just came from vacation, and everyone wants to come to Canada, and I tell them pray for where God wants you, pray for guidance, and do your research
It`s sad that once people get a visa to a foreign country, they do not think of a backup

While from a holiday in Uganda, i saw some people in a plane to Norway with sandles , non wool sweaters, & improper jackets for winter. I felt pity for them coz i knew they would curse landing here at -13.

Not everyone body system can stand the cold I have been in canda over 20 years, still cannot stand the cold. I take vitamin D weekly as recommended by my doctor, the difference is I have a job, a place of my own. You can come in very healthy and the weather and stress of things can quickly change your health status
This indeed is very sad and disturbing, what I don’t understand is why a Kenyan would seek asylum in a foreign country? Very un usual.
Why pretend? All those who go abroad to look for greener pastures are equivalent to Asylum seekers. You are not even aware that Kenyan economy has failed so many Kenyans and so many are trying to do what they can to relocate to first world countries. A good number of Kenyans in the USA too are Asylum seekers.
@@peterkariuki9073yes but why seek asylum. Why not find another route like study or work visa if you are simply running away from a bad economy. You have to have a valid reason for asylum and it’s not for people who want to seek greener pastures elsewhere. If you are leaving for a better life why would you expect the host country to feed and accommodate you?
They all hear there is a pot of gold to get. No one describe harsh weather, racist people and low grade paying jobs you have to slave over( sometimes 2-3 jobs) to cover high rent.

You couldn’t say for example another individual in your country was threatening to harm you. The threat would have to be that you could not live anywhere in the country due to risk to persecution or harm. Also economic hardship does not meet the criteria.
If you don't have a place to stay, don't come in the winter.
ASYLUM --- the protection granted by a state to someone who has left their home country as a political refugee.

In New York , the same thing is happening. A lot of people are sleeping on the street, have no food. I advise people to get a skill, become certified also if you come overseas, you will be able to get a job quick. No skill, dont come.
My understanding is that asylum seekers are from war torn countries. I’ve been to Kenya for sabbatical and I felt good and more or less the same as my country of birth South Africa. I wish our African countries can do better for their citizens for people to live their best lives.

Why does the Canadian government allow them entry, knowing there are no jobs, and no spaces in shelters? These are people who arrive on valid visas, and clear immigration through the airports.

Canadian govt need to do something about the cost of living in Canada. They have to regulate the prices of bills, rents, and commodities.

You just have to be in good health first. Have basic stuff with you. Blanket, food , meds because the process is stressful.

She had just arrived and probably didn’t have any contacts. Plus if you arrive as an asylum seeker, you have to stay in a shelter to get your papers processed.

There’s too many asylum seekers and Canada can’t accommodate them all. The problem is likely that too many people are incorrectly using the asylum route to try to migrate to other countries.
Joyce in Canada should adress this and adress it well. The lady who perished must have been misguided by those who were directing her. They should have warned her of the severe weather. They should not have allowed her to risk her life in the cold. The goverent of Canada too seems to be stupid and careless. How can they dump a foreigner outside to freeze in their cruel weather?
Even some of our own are in tents cities. Not enough room for many. True many in tents cities refuse housing as they have no income and some do not want to work to help themselves.. sad that people die of sold.
