You are not just a CZcamsr, you know what you are saying👍👍👍. The reasons you stated are 100% valid. Canada is not really as enticing as it used to be few years ago. If you have the means, the best thing would be not to put all the eggs in one basket. Have alternative plans so as not to be stranded in unachieved expectations.

Migration at a right age is key. A single person migrating to Canada in their late 20s and early 30s would most likely fare better bc he or she is just continuing life and has many more years to build a life.
Unlike someone in 40s who has established back home coming with a family battalion, who will most likely start from.the scratch, these set of people would usually struggle and would question their move.
I think contentment in life is key irrespective of where we find ourselves.

My brother everything you said is true and that's the reality. I have been in Canada for 17 years and boy money doesn't grow on trees in Canada. Canada is not designed to make you rich, but work work to put food on the table and pay your rent or take a mortgage that you keep paying for the next 30 years. Sometimes people move to Canada for their children to have a better future, that is no longer guaranteed today believe it or not. Because for your kids to have a better future, the parents have to be doing well. The two are tied together. I always tell people that anyone who has a decent job in Nigeria or a middle class person should think twice before relocating to Canada. Also if you're 30 and above it's probably not a great idea to relocate to Canada because give or take, give yourself 10 years for things to work out. The best way to come to Canada is through scholarship, that way you go to school without paying from your pocket and it also buys you time to know how things work in Canada. I came to Canada on scholarship after my bachelor's degree. I didn't have to take any loan to go to school and I was not under any pressure to work and school at the same time. Also the chances of getting a better paid job in Canada are very slim until you become a permanent resident, which can take about three to four years.

Sadly but truthfully many ignorantly fell for the “ gimmicks” by what they watch on CZcams videos about Canada . Coming in here to see the harsh reality living in Canada leaves them so amazed & in a hopeless situation .
Lesson here is - Stay back home if you’ve got a good professional job because eventually when you get here you’ll only end up with numerous menial jobs asking for that very funny thing called Canadian experience been thrown at your face . Really sucks!

you who ask why he still lives in Canada are not normal. According to you, a person who lives in a foreign country and who has difficulty integrating and does not have the financial resources necessary to survive must continue to suffer like this? many of those who return do not judge their return on the fact that there is no water or light or kidnapping in Africa, they judge on the basis of their way of life that they had in their countries before arriving in Canada. when you leave your country for another it is to live a life above what you lived when you were in your country. but if you arrive and notice after a few years that the standard of living is below what you experienced in Africa, I advise you to leave before it is too late. At the risk of finding yourself homeless. We are talking here about countries where people are like robots, people do not have no life there, all work for corrupt politicians who cannot create a fair society because of capitalism. the immigrant will never be able to get rich in his host country because the system put in place does not It is not made to allow you to do it. The riches are in Africa and Africa is a continent of multiple opportunities. You can get rich easily if you choose your project and work on it diligently and putting your trust in God.

If one wants to come to Canada with the intention to work, save and go back home, means no research was done before coming. A doctor or lawyer shouldn't make that kind of mistake because of the higher education they have. Africa is a rough place to survive when you are poor. Anyone from the first world who goes to live in the third world has loads of money with intention to create business. Life is very complicated with a lot of complexities. Only the strong survive!

You allow individual circumstance and perspective to elude your judgement. I’m also in the process of relocating to Africa ( Nigeria to be precise) having resided in England for 17yrs.
What you failed to understand is that people have different reasons for relocating especially back to Africa. I’m by no means discouraging anyone from relocating to the West. But there comes a time you realise that it’s not all that glitters that’s gold. Many are not aware of the flow.
    Credit credit credit score.
Most are never taught that everything you buy of substance: ie car or house etc, your credit score has to be good.
The first thing I taught my brother in law was ..... (After his other brother failed to do) ..... do not rack up your first credit card on stupid stuff.
#1 Credit card is NOT money
    - people sending money back home that they borrow off credit card....dumb mistake. If you do not have the money in the bank....guess what? You don't have the money.
You use your credit card to build your credit score to over 700. How to do this? You pay it off completely every second month, so that you will not be swimming in interest charges that add up so quickly at 20% or more. If you max out your card, and do not pay.... Kiss you buying a house good-bye. Non payment of bills and credit card bills....is a red flag to lenders like banks or mortgage brokers that you are too risky to lend to, that you will default a mortgage on a house. Same goes for getting a loan for buying a car.
#2. Forget lavish show-off furniture. There will be plenty of time to get that. Most Canadians start off with borrowed and used furniture/household items until they get settled and build up their savings.
    # 3. RRSP are your friend at tax time and for your future. If you don't know what it is and how it works, befriend an established older Canadian who can show you the ropes. Many under 35 don't have any idea about them.
#4. Thrift shops/Value Village/ Salvation Army used goods store is one of the best ways to save lots of money. Often Canadians donate good new & used items with little wear & tear. Electric small kitchen appliances, towels, clothes, dishes, and furniture.
#5. Food banks when you are struggling financially. Not to be abused just to save money....but to use when you have no money until payday and you have no food in your place.

Always planning to go somewhere apart from stay where God has put us. We think we are wiser than Him. That is why we are suffering everwhere we go.
Let's stay in Africa, discipline ourselves, be honest, be selfless and do quality work. Let's accept to start small and stop blaming people. We will see how in a short time Africa will be developed. Singapor has done it. We too can make it if we decide so. Instead of begging for works all over the world, let's come back home and accept the sacrifice to build our beautiful continent. Otherwise westerners will just continue cheating us simply because we are cheatable. They don't have time to feel pity for us.

The weather here in Canada is crazy bitter and ridiculous, it changes everyday (frozen -windy- rainy) , and I’m sick and tired. And the other issue is the difficulty of housing services and to get a job and keep it.
This country is very very boring {I don’t know why😂} even though i got other immigrants to hang out with.

Great points here sir… however, understand that each situation is totally different and Canada is vast and many have found “stability” in this country and…many who do leave, do not do so unless they become citizens of this land keeping for themselves an open revolving door to eventually…come back when the inflation and economy gets better. So, do not let anyone tickle your fancy to… obliteration! 😂

@okereginikachi Dude, things have changed. 10 plus ago things were not as they are after covid. A three bedroomed house in Ontario used to go for $250k back in 2011. You could even get something at $150. Now you can not even get a shed at that price. When I moved to Canada in 2009 as a student, things were so different. Groceries were not as expensive as they are today. A one bedroomed apartment used to go for $600at least that is what I paid. Now, a one bedroom apt starts from $1200. Food banks were for those who had absolutely nothing. In fact, mostly Canadians' homeless accessed those food banks. But now, working class is lining up at the food bank. And I know you are going to ask me why I am still here. I moved to the US right after the pandemic.

Against all odds, one might settle for Canada vs home. Because at home jobs are hard to fund, economies are struggling.
Sometimes being able to get up in the morning and going to work can boost one's morale, vs waking up at home in Africa and having no plan for your life mostly due to a lack of resources.

And just want to play video games instead of work. So it's a joy to see immigrants come and do the work that makes the country keep moving. Thank God for others to enter and work hard. Racism is very painful when your only used to being hated on by people who look like yourself. It's a harsh kick in the teeth. We are used to it as Americans. Spend wisely within your means, maximize community help agencies, use the food bank, no need to rush to acquire new assets (car furniture..) , most provinces get really cold - invest in quality winter gear: one very good jacket is enough for starters. There's so much to say but those who make it good, do.

Finally, stay in the freezer for 9 months every year. In summary, USA is 1000% better than Canada. The native Canadians themselves are emigrating to Europe especially Germany for a greener pasture.
