Canada helped you out on Afghan translator? Here in the USA I grew up with my parents paying a 1.8 MILLION for a one month stay at a hospital visit in1986...think before all the inflation since the 2008 housing crisis...those dollars.

We Africans cannot keep running away from Africa and expect someone else to develop our countries or fix the issues. We must come together and tackle these issues ourselves rather than running to "greener pastures". The grass is greener where we water it.
Why do we expect Africa to develop when we spend all our strength working to develop and sustain western economies? Let's get together and develop our great continent.

Stick together, sink together. The history of Africans has always been one of migration. We are Nomads & Semi-nomads by DNA. Remittances to Sub-Saharan Africa by migrants abroad was estimated at 45 billion dollars in 2021 despite COVID. A friend of mine here in Germany literally educated her whole village.

Due to the environment in Africa and the fragile economies it takes a lot of leadership forced and appreciated to pull it off. If Europeans don't wreck it, the Chinese surely will. It will take many successful Africans to leave and go back to Africa for that to change. Good luck in getting immigrants to return after they find greener pastures.
@@8dholland Agree, but as Africans we have no real home other than our continent. We are treated as second class citizens everywhere else, even though their economies are built on black bodies, resources and sweat.
So we must regroup, fight and create a power base in Africa.
We have not tried hard enough because the level of consciousness is not there yet in our community and we allow ourselves to be distracted by the western propaganda and the crumbs they throw at us instead of aiming for the bigger prize: The control of our own resources.
The harsh environment in Africa that you describe here is all by design due to the rotten neocolonial system the West have shackled the continent with.
Bad leadership, corruption and the manufactured poverty in the midst of abundance are all rooted in this neocolonial system. Yep, the same West that is seemingly a place of solace for many of us, is actually the source of the hardship on the continent. Their prosperity is directly linked to the misery of Africans.
We also now have to contend with China, etc.
We must fight for total mental and economic liberation and stop being cowards. Also, we must keep our eyes on the prize rather than being distracted by the "little comfort" we get from them.
Just like the Afghans and Ukrainians (not that I support NATO’s agenda here) are fighting for their homeland, we must also regroup and fight for our continent... Yep, take on the West and the East but start with the West first as they are the biggest threat (and have always been). We can do so if we unite around a common afro-centric ideology. Just by trading with each other more rather than with the West or the East, we will win. We need to start operating as though those colonial borders do not exist.
Not everyone can return home but even those who can't, can help by investing on the continent, promoting and visiting Africa, buying made in Africa products and sponsoring projects, etc.
I moved to Canada 3 years ago and I can tell you life here is much better financially than London, England where I moved from. Building wealth isn’t hard in Canada unless you live in a city like Toronto. I sold my 1 bed Condo in Toronto for $700k and bought a massive 4 bed, 3 bathroom detached house for 500k in Edmonton. Yes it’s colder here but the wages are much higher and the tax is much much lower. Cost of living in general is much cheaper… Gas as of today is 1.11 per litre at my local Costco!
My advice to anyone living in Toronto is, move out as soon as you can and also avoid Vancouver because it’s no different!

Born and raised in Canada for 64 years, working middle class all my life has shown me that in the last 2 decades the middle class here keep moving towards poverty because of the increased cost of living and taxes. I will likely have to leave my own country when I retire soon and am resentful that all my years of hard work leads to that. Its a choice between living on the streets or moving away. Our government has catered to the wealthy and given false rhetoric about making sure the middle class working Canadians have a decent life. At $2800 for a 1 bedroom apartment, $2 a litre for gas, high car insurance rates, lower wages than other major cities. My tax dollars pay for public parks that now charge to park in them so only the rich can afford to go. That’s just one example of the poor and middle class getting screwed over.

and 6 mths later…. we are seeing even more decline in people’s well being. Carbon tax - which is illegal has been raised 23%, there is a Rain tax in Toronto, general inflation has risen again, it takes an estimated 60% of a middle class paycheck to pay taxes now. Houses are being built but they will never be raised fast enough so the materials going into these houses are cheap and you have no yard. Forget about owning a house unless you have 60K in your pocket as a down payment and are willing to sign your life away. Next year, because of inflation and the capital gains tax being raised, mortgage renewals will be raised. There are tent towns everywhere for homeless people, people who have jobs but can’t afford rent.Crime is bad and you can thank our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for that. You can hear all kinds of stories, but I am telling you please, save yourself now, find another place, this is not worth it. Peace.
I am a Canadian citizen and recently retired. I cannot afford to live in Canada on my pension. I moved to Mexico where I can live on $1,100 CDN a month and that includes private medical insurance and I am a 15 minute walk to a tropical beach.
I hope to move to a tropical country for retirement too. I can't survive it here. Hope you enjoy Mexico!

Don't you have to live in Canada for more than 6 months to be entitled to receive your pension payment? I heard, that if you are out of the country for more than 6 months, they stop to pay you.

I left Canada several years ago...too cold, depression, racism high cost of living etc. Im very happy in the country of my birth great weather natural foods etc. I feel balanced here. I still keep my Canadian citizenship and visits sometimes, going back to live in Canada hmmmm not sure maybe. Its a beautiful country clean and welcoming but for now Jamaica is my home🤗🇯🇲🇨🇦

Why shouldn’t they have it?? If you worked hard enough, you’ve laboured for it, paid your taxes, so you deserve to have the Canadian passport. Whether or not you decide to leave that’s up to you.
I was born in the Uk and moved to Canada as a child in 1967. By 1992 I saw the writing on the wall and moved my family back to England. Now at 68 I see the writing on the wall again and we are moving to Portugal. You have to stay open and flexible in life as your life and countries change over time. Our kids and grandkids are in Denmark and England but hey a return ticket to Porto in Portugal from either is only £75 or $131 Cdn. They can visit every month!
What was the writing on the wall by 1992? That was an amazing decade for most in Canada.

I'm Canadian born and raised. I left Canada when I was 28 and found a better life in a developing country. Canadians think their country is wonderful because few know anything better. As you expressed, there is more to life then working to pay taxes. Quality of life is more important.

Same here. I left Canada 25 years ago to go live in a developing country. So much better life here in the sunshine with wonderful people and without the western taxes and work to the death mindset.
I agree with most of your points, but as a person who immigrated to Canada 23 years ago, I am still happy that i did it, grateful for the opportunities that Canada offered to me, even though i had to work hard for everything. Few points i want to make for those who consider immigrating:
1. Uprooting yourself from your country, and starting from the bottom in a foreign country is difficult, and not for everyone. Sometimes, when immigrants go back to visit their home countries, they try to present themselves as successful, and tend to exaggerate the positives. Having realistic expectations is crucial, do a thorough research beforehand, prepare yourself, and you will have better chances to succeed.
2. I also lived in US for almost 2 years: US is better if you want to do business, or if you are highly specialized (IT, healthcare, etc.), but i wouldn't raise children there, even more so if i were a visible minority.
3. If you are on top of your career at home, think twice before immigrating, unless you find a suitable position before arrival. If you are in a priviledged position, you have connections, doors are opened easily for you, you might find it difficult to adjust without these things. Many people leave their country because of corruption, they will find that they have more opportunities in Canada.
4. There are some significant differences between provinces in Canada: Quebec offers low university tuition, Alberta offers the best ratio between average income and average housing costs. (You can buy a new house in Edmonton with about 300k)
5. Canada might not be for those who want to become milionaires in few years, or for those who want a night life like Las Vegas or Ibiza... but if you are a young couple, motivated and hardworking, who want to raise children in a decent environment, to be able to send them to school without fear, Canada might be a good place.

I was born here in Canada and in the last 5 years almost every new person I met was new to Canada. Every time I ask them why they came and it's the same answer every time. They got sold a dream of beautiful life in a clean country, but they don't realize it's all a dream and not realistic.

A lot of scam ads flourish the internet about living the dream life in Canada. But here's the reality about life in Canada, it's a jobless nation for the most part. People think the country has jobs because it's close to lousy United States where job is plentiful but finding one as a Black College Graduate is almost impossible because of US racism and oppressive treatment of its Black Citizens.
The few jobs that exists goes to White Canadians first and then the rest of the races, with a few exception. Most non White immigrant work the temporary summer factory jobs, like working on a plastic injection moulding machine. Then when summer comes and there's no need for such services, they get laid off until demand for the product shoots up again the following year.
Part of the reason the nation is jobless is the bad weather. Most of the companies manufacture seasonal summer items in the summer, which means less jobs in the winter. Even some European countries like Germany has many times more jobs than Canada, but don't expect to get them easily if you're a foreigner, especially if you're Black

I moved from Ireland to Calgary Alberta in June 2015 with a hope of living there permanently. I became poorer there…I kept hearing the voice of God telling me to go back to Ireland. June 2016, I came back to Ireland and am grateful to Jesus for directing my steps. I love Ireland and it’s been 6years I left Canada and I don’t wish to go back to.

Sadly, moving back home has become a dangerous venture in some countries like Nigeria with increasing insecurity. Returnees are often targets of kidnapping for ransom. I pray you never experience such though.

I've only been in America for a week and I can say that people here are so much more open, honest, candid and willing to listen, and overall, much "nicer". They actually take in your words and understand what you mean. Sure sometimes people can be rude and other times complimenting but that's what actual human beings should behave like! Having been confined in Canada for the past 3 years I didn't even realize this was possible anymore. There is actually genuine humanity in America!! Looking back, talking to Canadians and dealing with Canadian bureaucracy especially was literally like talking to robots or zombies. I can't believe I let myself be subjected to this cruel experiment for so long.
That's why you should appreciate what you have. Changing location doesn't solve issues, a change of attitude solves challenges.

I hated the cold and the overall vibe in Quebec, it’s quite depressing. I’m happy my daughter can grow up in a place with nice weather, natural food and a better environment. @@selfmaderish4690 Canada is crazy expensive. Mexico is a lot cheaper. We feel safe here in southern Mexico. The north is more dangerous. Also stay away from drugs and politics and you have no worries. If you want to move to Mexico to work and make money forget about it. Wages are very low.

We need to create opportunities in our home countries so we don’t have to leave.
I encourage you to remain in your countries and push to make them better. The so-called advantages that you seek in other countries are the result of the hard work done by the citizens of those countries. Improve your home land for your children and future generations.
And get rid of corrupt leadership. The west needs to freeze the $trillions of looted money and help influence the emergence of the best leadership because it’s in their long term interest. The money displacing many in the west, from the housing market is corrupt cash from foreign sources. The looted & easy cash from foreign countries is driving home prices out of the reach of the middle class. Somehow western democracies still prop up mediocre leadership in African countries to their detriment while citizens are railing against immigration. You can’t eat your cake and have it. We have to help African & other countries get the right leaders in place to restore western societies.
@@loriannrichardson7644, it’s the host countries’ governments encouraging immigrants to come in. My own country, Spain, offers easy citizenship (free college education, free healthcare, etc) to most immigrants. We need to ask ourselves why our governments are doing this, and never blame the immigrants (not saying that you are but plenty of people are).

I've been thinking of leaving Canada as well. It's hard to find good jobs here, you'll work yourself to death trying to keep a roof over you head and yo pay your bills, and I can just go on and on. I was born and raised here, yet it no longer feels like home, things are getting worse here. All I keep thinking about is the time I went to visit ghana. I don't know how to describe it but to me they looked free, they had a sense of genuine warmth and community that you dont get here.

I came to Ghana for 4 weeks back in January, 2015. Still here and only returned twice, last time almost 7 years ago, with absolutely no desire to go back. While there are a couple small things I miss there is nothing that would motivate me to leave. The biggest thing, the shoe being on the other foot, is that I miss just blending in. I'm obroni here and hear that word constantly, to the tune of at least 100k times in the last 8 years. I have noticed that the people I know sometimes walk by me now without seeing which is quite fine. The place I stay, while by no means a palace, is so far below what it would be in Canada as to be laughable. Almost a bachelor, with balcony, for about $60 CDN a month. My food bill is about $4 a day, my cell is pay as you go, just like everyone else here, and my data costs about 13 cents for 1 gig. I can walk to the mall, was West Africa's biggest when built, and have an americano for just over $3 when I want to splurge a little. I try to tell people what they would face I they had the chance to go but they, for the most part, believe that I'm just trying to stop them and that I'm being selfish. I wish I could grant them all a 6 month visa with the stipulation that no matter how hard things get they have to stay for the duration.
We only leave Ghana to get money abroad and come back home to open business, build houses and provide something better for our families.
Most Ghanaians that traveled to Europe and north America are better off than those who have not traveled.
You're enjoying Ghana because you came with capital to establish ur own business so you can can afford anything.
I am Canadian and proud of it. Left Canada when I was 24 (now in my 50's), never been back, and love it!!!! This does not take anything away from Canada, I simply enjoy living in Europe.

I spent the entire pandemic in a basement and I will NEVER do that to myself again...it was the closest thing to torture ....made this best of it though and im happy i was able to afford a better situation

Very true. I moved to Canada at the age of 20 going on 21 in 1990 and in a few months, I am turning 54. I've been to college twice and I could not get a job in the fields I studied for; instead I am working in a factory and I've worked hard. I'm on medical leave, but I'm now waiting to return to work and my employer has not been making it easy to return. I plan to return to my home country once I retire, because I hate winter weather and when it gets cold, my arthritis flares up and it will get worse as I age. It's very expensive here, car insurance, house insurance, phone bills, grocery bills, property taxes, and federal taxes. You work and work and you get 2 weeks vacation and sometimes, you don't even get to enjoy it. I remember getting sick when I took my holidays. You work long and crappy hours for just enough money to pay expenses and you don't really get to enjoy life. Canada is a beautiful country, but when do you get time to explore and enjoy it? Right now for me, it seems to be when I retire I'll be able to do that, if I can afford it (remember, taxes are high).
Very much agree with both point of view! As a student, I lived in BC, and standard of living was hectic, stressful and draining. Made the best choice returning home to Nigeria. Now, am a top rated freelancer and living much better and happier!👊👊

I think you're highlighting a huge problem. Canada loses so many people. For a while, I lived in Texas, and the difference in after tax income coupled with the lower cost of living was huge. In Canada, at the time, I could save money for my RRSPs but buying a house was out of the question...it's even worse now. In Texas, on the same income, I could live like a king.
I went to a university that was really strong in computer science and engineering. The number of grads that left and never looked back is depressing.
I am a 23 yr old Canadian and I agree with everything you said. I'm trying to figure out how to leave and where I want to go. Something about this country feels so soul crushing, and I grew up poor with limited opportunities and it's so damn hard to get ahead. I want to move to the US but their immigration laws are so strict. I'm considering any other country that I can study in but so many of them don't allow you to work while you study so I feel trapped.
Too many people in the US want to be like Canada or europe with all these damn taxes.

@@hyong-qc3ss I don't have a NAFTA profession, I haven't been able to swing getting a degree yet. But even with a NAFTA job it's not a guarantee you're gonna get a job offer from a US company. If I went that route it would be years down the line or potentially never.
Move to South Africa Its cheaper to get a world-class education from the top 5 universities which are all in the top 10% worldwide and accredited as well, you can work and study. There is a high crime rate so you will have to adjust but it's a cheaper cost of living especially if the family is willing to help out with expenses. You can survive on about 900 USD for everything including rent give or take a few 100 dollars. Not sure of the tuition fees though although you can expect around 2000-5000 USD per year depending on your chosen course. when you're done you can decide to leave or stay if you liked it.

Great video ladies! My parents moved to Toronto thinking it will be a better quality of life however as years have gone by we have realized that we only work and have been separated from family for way too many years. It's a great price to pay. A person doesn't need a lot to be happy.

I live in a small town in Ontario with not many immigrants. I always hear people in the media or politics talking about minority groups and wonder if people from other places feel set apart. I find it a real challenge mentally to not think about it if I see someone who looks different from me…. Like it weighs on my mind, but meanwhile I just want to treat people the same… I think everyone who comes to Canada legally should feel like a part of the country. I’m tired of identity politics that separates more than brings together. It is nice to know that you feel this pressure too… I wish the media/politics would shut up so we can come together while appreciating our differences…. Well said I understand that my Brother whole family migrated to Canada and I observed their lifestyle all debt and I hardly see if they have enough savings sad to say. At any rate would rather stay in village and tend my own vegetable farm with livestock than living a stress life on city. That's my childhood dream to work in US or Canada but when I became professional and started earning travelling most of the time domestic and international routes I realised that I will be on my own rather than slave or employee for the rest of my life. I’m immigrant as well and have been living in Canada for about 3 yrs and I agree with all the things you said. The cost of living is so crazy especially in Vancouver. The weather is gloomy and you only can enjoy life during summer. The inflation has been an issue recently and the rent is ridiculously high. A lot of immigrants have this misconception of Canada being a buoyant economy just because it's in North America and shares a border with the United States. They probably think the same of Mexico as well. However, the Canadian economy is nowhere close to the size of the US economy. In fact, there're no jobs in Canada while there are tons of job in the US for you as long as you're not Black. Because the US treats Black People worst than any country in the world and your college education as a Black US Citizen doesn't necessarily grant you access to the job for which you're qualified

Most of the western countries are fashioned same way. I have similar difficulty on moving to UK few years ago, but now singing a different song. No one get rich by working 9 to 5, the system is designed to keep majority in the middle class, it depends on how you structure your life, in order to break that cycle. Taxes keep society running, it keeps public institutions working. Life is not easy, you get what you create.

👍 This was a very interesting and informative video. It caught my attention because my perception of Canada turned out to be very different from the realities you describe. My only experience with Canada was a week in Montreal in 1972, which I enjoyed very much. It was very enlightening to hear your experiences with the national health service. I always thought it was a better system than we have in the US where I live. It was a disappointment to learn otherwise.
Being from the US, I have some observations on Americans and accents. If you are thinking of moving here be prepared for people to not understand you. I was originally from New York City and worked with people from many different countries. I made it my business to put extra effort into listening carefully to my coworkers with accents. After all, they were speaking English and I felt it necessary to refrain from asking them to constantly repeat what they had said.
You both speak English very, very well and I would say I had very close to 100% comprehension of your conversation. On the job, my American supervisor would always send the coworker with the accent to me because "you understand them and I don't." I felt this outright dismissal degrading and racist. I asked a Latino coworker to teach me basic Spanish so I could communicate better with customers. As a result, my supervisor sent anyone with any kind of accent immediately to me! This was not a problem but he never even made an attempt to listen! So just be prepared.
The situation which broke my heart the most was the trouble given to a Nigerian priest by some of the parishioners of the church I attended. He was a lovely man with a lovely spirit who truly loved God and showed it in how he treated us in the congregation. A group of people in the church constantly complained to the bishop until he was removed. And I truly know in my heart it was all because of the color of his skin. I tell you this because it's something to consider as an unfortunate reality regarding a move across the border.

Healthcare? Here in the USA, I have to pay $160 just to visit with a doctor. Per X-ray $90-$500. Generic 1970's blood pressure meds $40 a month. Insurance? Only after a year of on-the-job, and it will cost $250 a month for CATASTROPHIC insurance...aka I cover the first $15,000 in medical bills during a year period, and then the insurance will pick up after that IF THEY WANT...Seriously, insurance companies back out on PRE-approved necessary medical procedures ALL THE TIME here.

Many of the same reasons would also apply to the US. I think getting your citizenship/passport is important so you have the option to return if you decide to leave. I lived in Canada but currently reside in Florida. I don't miss the long winters but I like the summers there. I think the crime rate and health care costs are a big plus in Canada. We have Miami beach but frequent shootings there have kept me away. So it boils down to an individuals choice.🇨🇦

I am Canadian and just couldn't stand my homeland after retirement. Africa has proved to be the best decision i have ever made so far in my life. Southwest Kenya is a paradise.
When I try to have these types of conversations with my wife (who is originally from Nigeria btw), she always says "but we have reliable power, water, health care, infrastructure, and safety". My wife seems to believe the high taxes are worth it (at least in Calgary). One thing I recommend to most people I speak with considering moving to Canada.... AVOID the greater Toronto area... and avoid Vancouver. In general, Calgary has higher incomes, lower taxes, lower house prices and a much higher standard of living for the $ than Toronto.
Now people are going to flood Calgary and turn it into Toronto. Please Stop!

Great content but I had a smile on my face throughout. Have you met the big brother of them all, the UK? These things are the same in most hyped western countries. The thing is, there is a lot of hype about the popular western countries among the migrants from countries prone to emigration. The issue is that migrants don't do enough research before jetting off. They only see the surface benefits from afar and get carried away. It is migrants who need to do their homework before moving.

@@asanwa3126 What people fail to understand is that the grass is always greener on the other side...until you get there and realise that its just different shades of green. There are so many benefits to living in Africa. And there are benefits to living in western countries too. If you like jobbing (being an employee), saving for retirement and having a stable government to protect your investment or give you welfare benefits and having free healthcare and generally living a risk-free life, then abroad is for you. There are downsides though - while you have good roads and healthcare, you can hardly save, your mental health is on the line, you probably will have no social life, the genetically modified food, polluted air, chemicalized everything will cut your life span down. You can be an enterpreneur but the taxes alone, the regulation, etc can discourage you.
In Africa, there are security concerns but the same security concerns exist in all countries, only they differ in their nature. In Africa, I can grow my food, I can build my house according to my budget (no mortgage), I can start a business any day, i can feed on little money ( you can find markets that sell cheap food produce). And most importantly for me, the health factor - organic food, family and friends to help with your mental health and laugh and cry with you as the occasion demands.
And now the icing on the cake - you can make the same dollar you make abroad from your country! So many online platforms to be a freelancer, to work for companies and individuals abroad. So you are making the same money and not drowning in taxes, in high rents, insurance fees and you can afford top-notch healthcare, even better than what you can get abroad.
So it's up to you. Stop believing that abroad is better. it's not actually. I swore I wouldn't raise a child in London because of the high rate of knife crimes on the streets and the government' s lax attitude towards it because such crimes involve black kids. I never felt such fear in Africa. To each his own. My African shade of green works well for me. Abeg

I'm born and raised Canadian. Didn't know what I was missing until I travelled. Canadian weather, architecture, culture, and lifestyle are oppressive to the human spirit. Our buildings and cities are boxy and ugly. The cost of living and high taxes are prohibitive and keep us locked into a dismal daily grind. Our "free healthcare" system is so bad, we have to leave the country to circumvent wait times. When you do finally get to see a doctor, they rush you along and if you don't advocate for yourself and push for the help you need, they will drop the ball and let you slip through the cracks. It's true that it can take years to get a family doctor in a new town. The cold keeps us huddled indoors most of the year in these artificial, sterile, institutional buildings. There are few opportunities for spontaneity, art, music, and street life. In other countries, I see people playing backgammon in the streets, having coffee outside their shops, growing up in lively communities full of music and dancing. There is none of that here. And Canadians don't even know what they're missing. Even when we travel, we only have two weeks to experience other places and we're too tired to enjoy it, so we get drunk and beach ourselves at an all inclusive in Mexico for two weeks.

I really love your video and the theme you develop, particularly leaving when comes old age... Another thing I personally experimented is the "over-qualification phenomenon". Most of people having high degrees, even from Canada, are not getting jobs in their field of studies.
I can totally relate to the over qualification issue: I've lived and worked in other countries and this has only been an issue here in Canada (where I was born).
what is so hard about redoing your degrees if you really want to live in this beautiful country dude I did it I have eight degrees behind my name and had to redo two of them I'm totally enjoy my job as a surgeon they have to be standards and how do we know what the standard is in Nigeria or wherever you're from . get your ass in gear and study and write the exam and you'll be free . I was not saying it's easy with the big taxes you pay and I pay in the 50% tax bracket pay off when you get older trust me you will get older you will not be young forever
You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves.
Night life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!
For the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.
If you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. (1 USA Dollar = 1.31 Canadian Dollar).

I think most people want to come to Canada because it has a reputation for being safe and that you can make good money when they convert it to there currency of their home country. They learn about the reality you described afterwards, that sure, you make good money, but you aren't saving anything to bring home unless all you do is work and stay in.

You are right ladies , I’ve been living here for 4 years , the health care system is messed up, you have to wait several months or over a year to get an appointment with a specialist, taxes are very very high , you need to have 2 jobs to be able to pay for expenses , I was in college our teacher told us ( we were like 30 students ( his kids were born and raised and Canada and they moved to England and get a better job $$$ and they left , the teacher at the end told us become citizens and go …… to USA , I have 2 jobs and I’m paying taxes like a crazy , I can’t handle that anymore is affecting my mental health
I left Canada in ten months because of the same reasons you mentioned! thanks for making this video and making me believe in my decision!

I spent my long life in Canada working, working and working and when time came to finally retire I realized that money I'm gonna get from government will make me the richest guy under the bridge. So, I've packed my bags and left Canada to retire on decent level in back home when I came from. As sad as it is, this is the truth you are exposing to everyone here and thank you for that.
Don't waste your time there,it takes one moment to realize that you're not young anymore. Life pass by, so fast.

This video sounds like my exact words speaking back to me , I have so much respect for my home country after being in Canada for only a year and I feel like my husband and I have accomplished nothing ! Our relationship with our kids has changed drastically because of depression . I am sorry I did not take advice from my mother that the grass is not always greener on the other side!
The insurance especially is so ridiculous compared to where I came from I spend $430 a month on car insurance, back home I literally spent $300 for the entire year !! You are just a walking dollar sign!!
My truck is fully insured with full coverage and I will get $10,000 if it gets totaled. That is less than I paid for the truck because I bought it used. I pay about $65 a month for my insurance. This is in the United States. The most I paid in recent years was $80 a month. What they are charging you in Canada is ridiculous.
I was paying cad350 monthly and they wanted to raise it to cad560 because in 7 years I made two claims. Sold the car and left the country last year

As a 21 year old who's lived in the UK for a year I miss how down to earth and genuine people are. Of course it's a generalization but when you find decent people this tends to be true. They're more open and not bothered by long conversations which I feel like is impossible to have with people my own age here in Toronto and this makes me feel very depressed and isolated. My European friends and I used to go for walks together and you easily lose track of time together, next thing you know you've been walking and chatting for 3 hours 😂.
