@@xmasbunnyscotland5355and why can’t lambert-fanboys realize that it‘s not about being a martel-fan, it‘s about having a singer that is giving their songs the right intended feeling of one of the creators? it‘s their legacy and with adam lambert it sounds just so different. bands like acdc has got also a new singer after bon scott died, but brian johnson, the new one, sounds alike. every band that lost some member is looking after a new guy who sounds similar for a reason. and i‘m sure that would they have a guy that sounded more like freddie queen created new music already. that said i‘ve seen both live, lambert and martel. if you say lambert is a great singer then you are right, but in my opinion martel is at least on the same level. martel got hired to sing for the queen-movie for a reason. and don‘t tell me the lambert fanboy gibberish „but brian and roger said...blablabla“. of course they have to defend their decision with every word and raise the market value of queen. we all know how humble those guys are and how they‘ve praised every musician they‘ve ever played with. go to interviews from the past and listen to brian may and roger taylor when they‘ve said similar things about their former singer paul rodgers like „one in a million with his astounding voice“ and „freddie‘s favourite“ and on and on. you cannot think of brian may and roger taylor as the most objective voices when it comes to their baby, that is queen. i’m just thinking it all comes down to which voices are you influenced by regarding whether you like lamberts or martel‘s voice more. i guess the listeners who are more into pop tend to prefer lambert, but i‘m pretty sure that most rock-listeners are on martel‘s side. i wouldn‘t say they‘ve made the biggest mistake with adam and i know that the character of the replacement should better fit into the band-community what is possibly a big criteria as well. but to my ear martel‘s vibrato is not so musical theatre type like adam‘s and also martel can regulate his voice similar to freddie what he was famous for, also get lower with his voice and at the same time quite high as well. most people miss the point of range going in both directions, high and low. that’s pretty vital for some songs of their huge catalogue. so in my opinion the countless variations in freddie regulating his high-low, tone, vibrato and grittiness can be met better by the canadian. therefore and of course because of even more similarities with the original i‘d prefer martel‘s.
@@greenogre22 I am not a Lambert Fanboy, I am a Queen Fan and loved Freddie, the last thing I want to hear is someone imitating him and that's all MM is. He has been doing it for a long long time, he'll tell you himself. Yes Brian and Freddie were friends with Paul Rodgers, Brian and Roger have been round the world with him, they lasted 4 years and then it came to an amicable end, Paul is a good singer but not for Queen, B & R thought that was it and they were prepared to retire. They met Adam by chance and were blown away by his voice. He has an unbelievable voice and can do justice to all Queen Songs, he has Freddie's flamboyance and is as good a showman as he ever was. There is no comparison, you like MM I prefer Adam, you're the one arguing not me, Adam has been QAL's Lead Singer for over 12 years and counting, this is a new Era for Queen I thought all you MM Fans would have taken the hint by now, they will be QAL till they retire. MM is your preference so go and enjoy him.
David and Freddie are gone, but these guys can deliver amazing live performances like the originals, and in Cologne, Germany they filled a stadium of screaming fans. They are the future for this music.

Fabulous cover. All four musicians and Marc were tremendous.
A really lovely thing about this UQC band - Marc, Tristan (Bowie and guitar), and Brandon (on keys), were all original members of Roger Taylor's Queen Extravaganza band (the official Queen tribute band). For various reasons, whether personal or other tour offers, these guys stepped away from that band, and, when it looked like Queen Extravaganza wasn't touring anymore (they had no shows between November 2016 and September 2018), Marc started the UQC band (The Ultimate Queen Celebration) with Tristan and Brandon and started touring North America.
It's so fun to see how they've been recognized and now are touring Internationally - they have had shows in Australia, Hong Kong, Germany (though under the name "One Vision of Queen"), and later this year will be in South America.

UQC = Ultimate Queen Celebration, the band Marc put together in 2017, when Queen's official tribute band (Queen Extravaganza) wasn't going to be touring. BTW, "Yo, UQC, let's kick it" is a direct dig at Vanilla Ice, who stole the bass line from "Under Pressure" for his song "Ice Ice Baby." At the beginning of the "Ice Ice Baby" video, Vanilla Ice said, "Yo, VIP, let's kick it.""
That's Tristan "Bowie" Avakian, playing lead guitar and singing with Marc. Tristan can sound just like Brian May on guitar and just like David Bowie on vocals. He really should grow his beard back, though. #bringbackthebeard #respectthebeard

Jesus Christ, it's insane how similar they BOTH sound to Freddie and David. I am definitely not one for covers, but you might as well just say that Freddie's voice has been reincarnated in Marc Martel. It's incredibly mind blowing. If this isn't convincing you of that, find his cover of Bohemian Rhapsody and Somebody to Love and close your eyes while Marc is performing them. You'll swear it's Freddie taking over his voice.
Marc is a national treasure and should be protected at all costs.
At this point, he's an international treasure! I usually prefer my covers to be... not carbon copies, but with a twist or an original spin, you know, but this is just something else entirely.

@@JustJenReacts Jen, you should do a reaction to the 2019 Golden Wave Awards concert in Tbilisi. Marc blew the doors off with Bohemian Rhapsody and many others. The production with choir, band and backing singers is top notch. This would be my choice to see live over other Queen renditions.

Did you see the video of him performing Love of My Life at that show? It's not included in the recording of the whole show, but in a separate video. It's extremely touching!
Marc got a red carpet entrance to that show. They treat him right in that country!
@@artfulstories Just checked out the separate video, my gosh he is talented. Have been searching for an audio recording of the concert with better sound quality than youtube but to no avail.
Amazing I have seen Marc Martel in concert more than 10 times and he blows the stage away an incredible showman, and if you’ve never seen him you need to it will take you back to your childhood or your teenage days

Freddy passed in 91', but listen, first time i saw Marc i was unexpectedly crying over his voice, and under pressure is my queen all time favorite song, and when I saw this I uploaded to my fb, of course ppl didn't quiet got it, the guitarrist sounds just like Bowie!, This is almost unreal how good it is.

Without detracting from the reactions of recent months, those of the last period give a lot of satisfaction. There is a real interest in an exceptional but still little known artist.
It is really nice to watch them.
Marc manages to surprise even those who have followed him for years. And the bands he puts together always include high-level professionals. This applies to both Downhere and UQC.
But aside from the Queen repertoire, the non-Queen covers are also surprising (I think "My Way", "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Mee", "I Will Always Love You" and "Kiss From A Rose" ) and above all his original music.
Such a brilliant group liking as much as queen and that was pure class
