If you watched the movie, you heard Marc before. 90% of the vocals were Marc's in the movie
Also some of the vocals were also mine and a lot of other people who were chosen from the put me in bohemian contest and mixed into the Wembley scene.
I was in the put me in bohemian contest and my pre recorded vocals were used in the Wembley scene when Freddie sings bohemian rhapsody.
I still have my emails from 20th century fox that say congratulations your vocals have been mixed into a scene in the movie.
Who are you, where can I see some of your work.
@@ryankay6716 I'm not famous at all. i was just an extra. i only did voice overs. i never physically apeared.
Marc Martel doing Under Pressure to do Tristan sound so much like David Bowie it's amazing
Every time I hear Marc sing I get chills; it’s freaky weird how much he sounds like FREDDIE.
Absolutely Freddie Mercury's voice is so hard to copy nobody but Mark Martel is even come close the guys a reincarnation
So true
That is as I also get chills when I hear Marc Martel sing
@@johncrumpler9950 I am very .... well strict in most things in life. Dont get invited to party kind of strict hahaha. And I hate when someone is doing "copy" etc of someone else and not their take etc. Marc is the only guy I fully allow to copy Freddy when he feels like it hhaha.
He really is incredible talent, and this reaction is so beautiful to watch. It looks as honest surprise and first time seeing unlike other videos. For some reason, sometimes I come back to watch this video and enjoy the reaction as its wonderful and supportive.
That face was the "Oh shit, here comes the operatic section" face.
It's the face we all made the first time. 😁
And it roughly equates to this: 🤯
To be honest, it happens to me even now.
As I listened to your remarks before playing it, I thought:
1 - You've never heard Marc before
2 - You are in for one of the most surprising musical treats of your life.
What's better than watching Marc singing a Queen song like Freddie Mercury? Watching someone who's never heard of him watch Marc sing a Queen song!
Watching people listening to Marc for the first time is one of my favorite things to do on YT!
This is all new to me, since I am of the much older generation. Watching Tommy Tuffnuts reaction is my go to when I need a lift. Marc Martel is also my first real introduction to Queen & Freddie Mercury. I am seriously hooked.
Marc Martel is fantastic. I get chills when I hear him sing Bohemian Rhapsody.
I cry everytime i hear this guy. Amazing close voice to freddy...
This guy is INSANE. He sounds like Freddie with a bit of George Michael. One of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard.
His George Michael covers are uncanny also.
you can hear dont let the sun go down on me by elton john. marc did cover this song. and he sounds like george good also
@@landocal001 He sounds Nothing like George Micheal to Me. I'm Only Hearing Freddie.
@@Kinseliplier Check out his George Michael covers. He also does an incredible cover of Pavarotti. Dudes a mimic. His Freddie IS Freddie🤔
@@landocal001 yeah he sounds Exactly like Pavarotti and Freddie but Nothing like George Micheal
Let's not forget that he's flawless on the keys!!
Blown away.. He had no words...lol..
Marc is so so so talented in do many ways ❤
He is also fully endorsed by QUEEN.. which IS AMAZING
This is the best reaction video I've ever seen.
The wipe of your eyes at 4 minutes said it all ❤
I was watching the whole beginning of this video thinking “Dude, you’re about to eat those words” 😂😂😂.
_"Not putting it on, make no mistake, when I open my mouth it's the sound I make"_ --Marc Martel - Dead Ringer
**Dead ringer, dead ringer dead….** ❤️🙏🏼
@@suellen1971 czcams.com/video/3VJhVo7bRTk/video.html
Having seen Queen on the Day at the Races tour I can tell you that even Queen didn't perform this song in its entirety. They left the stage for the operatic section and the music video played. They returned in a puff of smoke with the final rock section. What you are seeing is a unicorn. Freddie never performed this song as a solo piece. Marc's performance is an homage to what might have been. It is a stunning vocal and piano performance and we are lucky to have Marc share this with us!!!
Yes!
Shivers. Every time I listen to Marc. Absolutely incredible.
I love this guy - he's one of the most talented musicians out there. I love his "Everybody Hurts" and his "Don't Let the Sun go Down on me". Not only can he do Freddie, He can also do a mean George Michael. Check it out
Same . Incredible
Your reaction to this video is priceless, thank you!!!!
His cover if Somebody to Love is spot on! I saw him sing Under Pressure wirh Roger at a tribute concert.
I've seen him in concert twice! He is awesome!! ❤
About 9 years ago Brian May and Roger Taylor of QUEEN recruited Marc along with several others to form "The Queen Extravaganza" show that played all Queen songs on a world tour. This was an amazing show but Marc obviously stood out from the rest of the musicians in the tour band. It was just like Freddy himself was there, almost! As a professional sound engineer I had the pleasure of working with the group at one of their shows in Las Vegas. I was very impressed with his (and the band) performance along with most of our crew since we are all Queen fans. It's nice to see that he is still performing and keeping Freddy's memory alive.
If you haven't seen it, check out Marc singing Viva Las Vegas at a Vegas convention the day after the concert shootings. It was powerful.
@@ToddandRaquiForrest If you're talking about the Route 91 concert massacre I would rather not relive that memory, it was my version of Hell on Earth. As for Marc's performance I'm sure it was good but I wont go there.
He did an audition for Queens Extravaganza using Somebody to Love.
I freaking love your reaction to this! Your facial expressions are killing me! 😆😆 And your total denial in the beginning.. This is great, hahaaa! His version of R.E.M is amazing also..
Your face at the start bro 🤣🤣 When Marc starts singing 😁😁 lol
My brain couldn't compute hats off to Marc!
I especially love how Marc doesn't just sound like Freddie or sing like him, he literally embodies his energy too. Every small movement, every little swing of his body, it's just like Freddie.
… and without really trying! 💥
He even has very similar facial features. Its the trippiest thing.
He's the voice of Queen music in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.
I said exactly what you said about the same overbite etc... His mannerisms are exactly the same. It's insane.......Also, The voice is so crazy that nobody mentions the piano playing lol
This Is Marc Martel’s actual voice he sounded so similar to Freddy when he was doing his own music that people recommended he sing queen so he did he ended up doing a majority of the work in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody an event Freddie Mercury’s on bandmates would hear Marc Martel singing off to the side and imagine it’s actually Freddy he is a true God-given talent
It's absolutely f****n Perfect....
It’s an honest travesty that he isn’t the frontman for Queen, Adam Lambert is a phenomenal artist but Marc is on a whole other level of talent.
They thought about doing it, but weren't emotionally able. Roger Taylor broke out in tears upon hearing Marc Martel singing, because he was so uncannily similar to Freddie.
Also, they didn't want to do it, because it felt like replacing Freddie. And no one will ever be able to do that. Not even Marc despite him being the closest in voice and energy.
u should go with his "Love of my life" cover. 99.99% identic.
*YES. 99.99%!*
No... maybe 50
@@KeesKouwenberg is my statement worth denying 🤷♂️
He sang all the songs in bohemian rhapsody as picked by Brian May, he deserves so much credit 👏❤
He's a monster. All Marc's stuff is absolutely incredible!
Welcome to my obsession 🤣
(since February 25, 2019)
Haha I loved your faces of misbelief at the beginning and just enjoyment later.
Wait till you hear Marc do Somebody to Love!
hearing Marc for the 1st time singing this, was one of the loveliest WTF moments of my life
🤣 i know right it's just wow
It's crazy right? He's a really talented piano player too but I just had to look back at the reaction on your face when you first heard him open his mouth. Epic lol - You should react to his other Queen covers as well, especially his version of Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx.
Your reaction is pretty much 100% the same as mine the first time i heard this ... Marc is out of this world ...one of the few times reincarnation seemed real ...i mean daaaaaaamn son
if you saw the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, you have heard him already. They used his vocals, Rami and Freddie mixed to pull it off.
@TattooPyramidHead, Rami only sang into a dead microphone, so the audience could see his throat muscles move. Him singing in the movie was a scam to help him win his Oscar. It's been confirmed by multiple sources.
@@odonovan Martel was only 'legally' allowed to say he was 'one' of the voices... Queen the Band covers its legal interests and may think its current artistry is true Queen, however it is not the authentic Queen we grew up with and loved.
@@odonovan I don't disagree with you about them trying to lie to people by saying Rami sang in this movie. But don't use the singing into a dead mic as some sort of evidence because it's not. The lip syncing tactic you described is how movies, television and even music videos are shot pretty much universally.
@@HBKCommish Yes, but prior to the film coming out, they claimed that Rami's vocals were actually present in the film, which they're not. Its not about lip-syncing
@@MartelAndQueen I'm not arguing that. But they brought up the lip syncing as if it was proof of something. I'm simply pointing out that lip syncing is a common practice. Even IF they had of used Rami's voice they still would of lip synced that scene, because that's how the industry works. They don't record people live.
Marc is an angel of a singer - he is the gold standard of Freddy emulators.
It’s Freddie. Blood sweat and tears. Same soul, but healed.
Marc Martel has actually performed this song live with the remaining Queen members. 🤘❤
Marc's natural voice and singing style resembled Freddie so much that people would tell him and he'd have no clue what they were talking about-- dude was a Christian rock singer from Canada, and knowing the Christian rock crowd, they might know the names Freddie Mercury or Queen, but that's about as far as it went because a lot of hardcore Christians wouldn't want anything to do with them, particularly Freddie.
But Marc looked up Queen's music and became a fan, and when Roger Taylor opened auditions for the Queen Extravaganza project a decade ago, he sent in a demo video, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Marc's voice was used in the _Bohemian Rhapsody_ film in scenes where Freddie would be singing and there could not possibly be a past recording of Freddie himself (the first scene where Freddie meets Brian and Roger, and when Freddie struggles to lock in his voice before Live Aid are all Marc).
I feel like Marc is like a less powerful but smoother Freddie Mercury with just a touch of Michael Jackson (he whoops just like MJ on stage). I'd love to hear Marc cover MJ, though I'm not sure the estate would ever allow that.
This dude was in a Christian Band called “Downhere” for years. He has always sounded like this. Great voice!
They told him to stop doing christian music because quote "you sound too much like freddie mercury from queen"
@@sprinklesfields3116yup! Radio listeners would call in and say to stop playing his music on the radio. 🥺
That’s Freddie singing thru him. ✊🏻🥲
It is his real voice. Heard him in the band Down Here before he did Queen.
Just say you’re speechless 🤣
The first thing that happens to you when you hear Mark is make a face of disbelief. The next thing that happens is laughing, but with happiness and you can't stop laughing, because you already love it.
He has so many similar anatomy details, that he might be Freddie's illegitimate son... He is from Montreal and born in 1976... Queen had US tour in 1975... Maaaan!!!!
Nope not Freddie’s child, his great parents are alive and well in Canada where he is from. His dad is a pastor, Marc attended seminary for awhile. He and college friends formed Downhere in college, a very successful Christian band they moved to Nashville where Marc and Crystal live.
No Marc isn’t Freddie’s child his dad is a Baptist pastor in Canada and his mom is the music person at the church
He even looks like him a bit, maybe got mums genes more or something
His face once he starts singing is literally everyone’s face the first time they hear him
Love of my life, amazing performance
Dude your face as soon as you heard his voice says it all 😂 guys unreal
Got to meet him in Mississippi when he played in Jackson. GREAT guy, and one hell of a show.
Marc Martel is the GOAT!!!
He is so good. It brought tears to my eyes.
SO F***N PERFECT....
He is 45, not 47. :) Born in 1976.
“.. de 45 ans qui a 27 ans de carrière prof derrière lui.”
I have been following Marc eversince I heard his cover. He actually got the Queen attention. Just go to Marc Martel channel.
Hahahaahha your face in the first 2 minutes and your comments hahhaha I felt the same and acted the same so I can relate! So you’re a fan now, right? ☺️
I've watched so many reactions to Marc, and yours is by far my favorite! The baffled joy on your face is exactly how a lot of us felt hearing him for the first time. If you're interested in more of his Queen work to react to, I love his one-take of Killer Queen on his channel. Or if you want a non-Queen song, his covers of Kiss From a Rose, Iris, or I Will Always Love You are incredible. Basically you can't lose listening to anything he's done, though, he's amazing.
Word!
I adore his cover of Right Here Right Now by Jesus Jones and Collective Soul's The World I Know, but gosh, I really can't pick a favourite. They're all immense.
@@artfulstories I love those, too! It's a shame they don't get as much attention, but I guess they aren't as popular songs.
@@wallkidstv that's hes known as the queen guy so his queen covers get the most attention.
Hahaha...I know what you mean! I loved his baffled look.
He is Killer in Concert!!!
From 🇵🇭. One of the best reaction ever! Salute! More of marc reaction please?
This was not his first take, but it was all done in a single take, start to finish and as such is one of the most masterful performances imaginable!
Haha i looked the same way when i heard it for the first time 😂
Agree with you. I never thought anybody would touch Freddie but Marc has an absolutely amazing voice and talent.
Tom, welcome to the Marc Martel "family." Marc was born before Freddie died, so no reincarnation. HOWEVER, he's fooled Roger Taylor on more than one occasion. Marc says all he does, to sound more like Freddie, is add a "bit" of a British accent to his voice. Other than that, it's ALL Marc's natural sound. Marc formally started doing Queen covers with Roger Taylor's "official" cover band (Queen Extravaganza) in 2012 and performed with them for Freddie's 70th birthday celebration (2016), in Montreux. From 2017 on, he's sung with his own band (Ultimate Queen Celebration) as well as "Symphonic Queen" (in Mexico), "Black Jacket Symphony," and with various other musicians. Marc was the special guest for Michael W. Smith's and Amy Grant's 2019 Christmas tour, and stole the show. He recorded "Silver Bells" with them, which went to #1. This past Christmas, Marc and Amy Grant recorded "The Christmas Waltz" (Frank Sinatra song). Here are a few for you to listen to. Enjoy!

yeah marc is awesome.
you're right he's born in 1976... no reincarnation. maybe his freddie's relative or a son... hahaha
You forgot to mention that Marc was in his own band “downhere” before he started with “ the Queen Extravaganza “
Downhere is when I first started listening to him
@@rubenpenazo1821 Aliens came to Earth, took Freddie's DNA, and created Marc via some sort of cloning process that we know nothing about.
I would love to see and hear Marc Martel perform live on stage with Queen and bring the real sound of Queen back to life
Hey Tom
I'm a big queen fan and been searching for a Freddie Mercury sound a like and my first one was Gary Mullen but then I found Marc Martel. How much does he sound like Freddie him self and Celine Dion's favourite singer's was Freddie Mercury take a look at that one somebody to love
I just loved your reaction in your face it was like wtf am I listening to is he alive or dead still 🙏🏼🙏🏻❤️
Saw mark in concert last week. Super talented musician!
He is like 👁️👄👁️ through out the video 😂
Magical
Marc is a legendary Voice! This is insane!
I love your reaction, especially the head banging. 😂😂I’ve been fan of Marc for 15 or so years and he has always sounded like Freddie. I discovered him on a Christian radio station with his band Downhere and was immediately hooked on his beautiful voice. He could never escape the comparisons to Freddie so he decided to embrace it. I think he has the absolute best rock voice in the world right now.
Downhere? I remember seeing them in concert many many years ago here in ohuo, pretty sure i might still have a poster signed by the band.
@@TomTuffnuts noooo waaaaay!!! You didn’t recognize him?! Hahaha
@@artfulstories it was so long ago and they were the opener for i believe it was amy grant and geoff moore and the distance. My dad had taken our sunday school class to the concert. I just remember the band name and i know i had a poster that my dad bought me at the show that got signed
@@TomTuffnuts awesome! You have a good dad! ;)
Sorry for laughing, but I just couldn’t quite comprehend watching Marc perform this brilliantly, totally in shock, and then I imagined what your thoughts must have been upon discovering that you’ve actually seen him live.
P.S. I’m an obsessed Marc fan, jealous of anyone who’s seen Downhere live. 🤗 🤗
I discovered Marc in August 2018, when I came across his Elvis-esque cover of Unchained Melody. I was smitten within ten seconds!
My man when through all those emotions within a few seconds when the song started 🤣
Did you notice the album cover hanging on the wall by Marc, also one of the greatest singers, Jeff Buckley! It is amazing how he sounds like Freddie but I've yet to hear anyone be spot on to Jeff.
Have you heard Marc's cover of Hallelujah?
Queen did post a link to this from their official Facebook page.
Amazing. The best I've heard since Freddie
Best reaction ever!!
Martel claims that he has a similar facial structure to Mercury, which allows him to sound like him. If you'd like, you can hear his own material with his former band Downhere.
How the hell can anyone thumbs down his rendition…. SMFH
Because some people are hard wired haters.
Adam Lambert fans probably
Best reaction on this cover❤️
This is mindblowing! Look at Love of my life by Marc Martell. Just amazing too
I’ma huge queen fan. I really like your reaction. Your emitions are so real.
If you want to hear Marc when he’s not in “Freddie Mode”, I recommend his old band DownHere.
I've watched your reaction over and over...I love it. Your honesty, you pure reaction is priceless. I'm 86, new to all of this, and I love it.
U could close your eyes and have this played to u and u could 99% of the time believe this is Freddy singing
This is his voice. It's beautiful! Love Marc! He's amazing!
I feel like he has some of the same expressions and mannerisums as Freddie when he performs and is also a complete wizard in the piano like Freddie
Marc Used to be in a band called Down here. By far one of my favorite bands to this day mostly due to Marc's unique sound. Wish they were still together.
Blessed to see Marc with Downhere back in the early 2000’s. What an incredible voice and talent.
So go listen to Sombody to love from Marc if you didn‘t already 😉
Lol I have watched this a few times now and your face is priceless, I think that queen missed a huge opertunity to produce some new songs since they have Freddies voice thanks to Marc
I"m an avid fan ofMarc MartelHe is so amazing when he performs, with his stunning voice.
Thank you so much for your reaction!!! It's the best reaction I've ever seen. The most authentic and full of sensibility. I cannot understand how other people do not express anything through their faces after listening to Mark or even they say his voice is similar up to an 80%. What??? I'm sure they would not even feel the difference if they had been told they were listening to Freddy. So, thank you so much for expressing through your video the feelings and sensations we all experienced when listening to the amazing Mark's voice. Thank you so much!!!! 💖
"I've never heard of Marc Martel"
Me: *goosebumps*
Bro your reaction was literally mine when I first heard him.. loving it XD
