Eric Cantona arrived at Man Utd in November 1992 and so did the trophies! Performances from Cantona combined with the youthful energy of the class of 92 to create some of the greatest moments we've seen at our club. We've spoken to the youngsters playing alongside Eric Cantona at the time, to hear in their words how the enigma inspired them. These youngsters went on to greatness themselves, so it’s fantastic to hear their views on one of our greatest number 7’s. Let us know what you think about Eric Cantona in the comments below…

Eric Cantona gave us that belief that we could finally win the league. The young lads looked up to him and the fans loved him. I've seen a lot of interviews of Eric and his love for the people of Manchester is genuine. Denis was the King before him and Eric was the King for my generation. 🇾🇪

great vid fella's. total acess to the CO92. amazing. why is it a dream to have a proper DOF with the legends as ambassadors that help secure the deals we really need?!?! imagine Eric Catona being in the room to show why potential signings should sign for United! or giggs or scholesy or any of our abundant legends who could sell the project for a DOF who only wants United to win everything. Ole needs backing! yes he's inexperienced...yes he's learning on the job but i also bet he's very quickly learned how much our owners don't want to win everything, just secure 4th so the deals keep coming in! long live the King and all the CO92! hopefully one day they'll take over and bring the glory days back again. Quite simply The King, what a player and what a man, born to play for Manchester United and Fergie especially, thanks for so many amazing memories Eric.
Please chaps may I post this great story up here? I found this a few weeks ago as it happens, I live in Boothstown, the place where Eric lived at one point (we moved here a while later so I dont know the exact details of Eric's stay here) but this is a wonderful story found on the net:
Back in the late 90's I worked at a classical horse stud and german shepherd kennels close to boothstown which is just past worsley.I worked on the dog side of things and a couple of girls worked with the horses.Although I never rode horses myself I often used to tag along, with a dog on a lead, just to be around as the horses were stallions and liable to go nuts at any given opportunity. Also sorry for being un PC but it was also a good chance for a good old fashioned perv.Anyway this one day I went out with one of the girls called Kate and she was riding a fine andalucian stallion called tanaj,we decided to take a short cut through the housing estate in boothstown,it was a very ordinary housing estate 3 bedroom semi detached kind of estate.Eric Cantona came striding up a driveway and started waxing lyrical about the orse,he knew what breed it was and everything he was firing all kinds of questions at kate,I was gob smacked to tell you the truth,Eric was my absolute hero at that time,if i would of spoke I would have said something really daft,I think I let out a mmmm when he stroked the dog and said nice dog.I looked at Erics feet and he was wearing slippers.Tanaj decided that now was the time to have the mother of all turds, right in front of le'king.Eric told us to wait there and buggered back down his driveway only to re-emerge with a bucket and a shovel,he wanted the horse shit for his garden.I remember a lad, must of been his son booting an old casey in the front garden, from where Eric came from he must have been having a kick a bout with his lad.Was one of the most surreal moments of my life.I just couldnt belive that someone like Eric would live in such an ordinary house on such an ordinary street,in an ordinary town like Boothstown. It makes it harder to belive nowadays with footballers buying entire hamlets and building 18 bedroom mansions or the cheshire set with their purpose built pads in prestbury.
Oh and that girl Kate on the horse,i married her.
👍👍👍 keep up the great work chaps.

During my time watching football, I've never admired a footballer the way I admired King Cantona. He was the complete player. He could kick with both feet, physically tough, skilful, with plenty of pace, create goals, help out in defence, great passer of the ball, great football brain and a clinical finisher. He was a class act on the pitch. When he was on the pitch, 9 times out of10, you knew you couldn't loose.

I'm 44 years old. Diego Maradona got me into soccer in '86, and Eric Cantona got me into the Premier League in '92 when the games started being televised in the States. Not a United fan, but he was so dominant and a joy to watch. I still religiously watch the Premier League now 30 years later....thank you "King" Eric.

Hey guys I will never forget the day I met Eric, I was working at man airport & I saw him, there is an aura around this guy, it's magical. He was waiting to board his flight, I walked over to him & splurted out "please can I have your autograph", the guy was so polite & humble what a true gentleman.
Favorite player in my time (50yrs) genius.

I’ve never seen Man U play live or had ever been to old Trafford, 10 years ago I drove from London to Manchester for a meeting, I went to old Trafford early in the morning to see the ground it was deserted, I walked through the security bollards and security stopped me and said the ground is closed sorry no access, I said I had driven a long way and had always planned on seeing the ground, security got on his mobile phone next moment I was being waved in and told to go to the shop, they let me in with such a warm welcome, I was blown away by the overwhelming history, there were giant Cantona banners everywhere, it was a strong emotion of which I will always remember. A very special place. Thanks.

The thing that people always always forget is that Cantona was the FINAL piece of the puzzle that got United over the hump and FINALLY winning the league. He's the catalyst that got United to be so dominate in the 90's and 2000's. Also don't forget about Sir Alex and Cantona were able to work together with such strong personalities, but then again he was able to work with a guy like Roy Keane.

There’s so many great memories of King Eric. One of the best bits of skills I have seen was at Nottingham Forest away match in the 96/97 season when he caught the ball on the outside of his foot from a cross from Beckham, juggled it up a few times and then lobbed the goalkeeper. The shot hit the bar but I think Ole or Giggsy nodded it in. The man could do the most sublime things with a football.
