You may remember Jeffrey James from the Postmodern Jukebox "Steal My Girl" cover, filmed back in 2015 -- since then, he's found lots of success as both a singer and a songwriter, and we caught up the other day to record a soulful version of one of his own favorite songs: Go West's 1990 hit from the "Pretty Woman" soundtrack, "King Of Wishful Thinking."

Nothing beats the original by Go West!
Incredible performance! It is a whole different song now! In the original version, the singer is telling his ex that he doesn’t need her anymore. In this version he sounds like he is trying to convince himself. Just wonderful.
It’s a song which self-consciously references wishful thinking. How could you think the original didn’t have the exact same sentiment?
