    Looks awesome Andy! I’ve ordered crash bars from Hepco & Becker, wonder how they would look like. I’ve should have done it earlier, because the frame sliders are pretty weak… I recently noticed 😔

    You made the right decision on removing the side fairings. That would have been a big pain in the ass to install and torque properly with them in the way.

    Nice video. Work excecuted gracefully I think. I got inspired by your vidoe, so bought the same sort of protection for my versys and I'm planning to install the myself and I'm planning to follow it step by step). I have a really newbie question though, (comming from a from a non-handy man like myself :) ). I wonder about the blue liquide you are droping on the screws. Do I need to do this step? Thank you in andvanced.

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Před rokem +1

      the assembly manual recommends gluing the screws, the engine vibrates while riding, which can cause the screws to loosen, I would recommend using the locktite, if you do not want to do it, I recommend checking the screws frequently if they have become loose

    Hi, do you still have the oem sliders? If so could you post a few pics of the bracket for the right had side? I managed to drop my bike recently & can’t work out if the bracket has bent as a result or if the bend is part of the design! Thanks

    • @Momo-Sparco
      @Momo-Sparco Před 2 lety +1

      I’ve dropped my bike a year ago, and thought the same! I can tell you, the bend is part of the design, I checked the new one, and it had the same bend.

      @@Momo-Sparco Thanks for that, I’m waiting for the replacement slider to turn up but I’ve convinced myself that the old one is now closer to the fairing at the front! I’ll have a real good look once the new one arrives - may have moved the internals of the slider itself!?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

      @@usernametube1 I've decided to install crash bars after I dropped my bike when I was standing still (ran off the road). No damage, but the frame slider bent against the fairing. I know, 258 kg is quite a weight, but I'm a little disappointed about the strength of the sliders...

    • @usernametube1

      @@Momo-Sparco Was that the actual slider itself that bent as opposed to the metalwork that it attaches to?

      @Momo-Sparco Před 2 lety

      @@usernametube1 Unfortunately I can't post a picture, but as I can see, it was the slider itself. Not the metal with which it is attached to the frame.

    Hello my names okan. I am from Turkey. Now I have a kawasaki versys 1000 2023 model. I watch your videos with interest. I saw your video while researching the crash bar. Is this crash bar of sw mototech suitable for 2023 models and do you have a suggestion as a user? Thank you.

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Před rokem

      Hey Okan, this crash bars are suitable for 2023 model, I chose this ones because they look good and protect engine and I can mount my crash bars bags on it, if you like more protection for your fairing you can buy other brands.

    This bike is so expensive to maintain at the dealer… it’s almost 60% more than a Tracer 9 GT.
    I think that the valve clearance check at 24K instead of 40k and the 4 plugs instead of 3 are the main reasons but I think fairing removal is more time consuming
    Thanks 🙏

      valve clearance is partially mandated by the EPA here in the states, if you look at the manual of the same bike in canada(still listed in miles) it is almost twice the distance before you need to adjust

    Andy!
    What is your opinion on the oem frame sliders?
    Fir dropping the bike in zero speed, will they be enough?
    Because the crash bars are very heavy, and the bike is for road use and no off roading...

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Před rokem +1

      unfortunately I have no experience with frame sliders I always change them to crash bars because they protect the bike better and I can attach my bags on them. In general, frame sliders are better than nothing, they will definitely help and not hurt.
