My greatest joy of GSC right now is finding the highest wound model in the opponent's army and putting it in the microwave from all of the mining lasers I can bring to bare at it while popping 4 cp of stratgems to give 40 neophytes +1 to hit, wound, and AP.
Extra AP with the ridge runner too, and if you’ve got tall buildings for plunging fire you can get AP-3 small arms 😂
@@Malty404
Yup, ridgerunner AP is a must. Grenade launchers in the ceiling cause mining lasers don't need +3 AP more than they already have.
Having Abberants in the middle of the table and reminding the world theyre better then terminators is true God tier
Doing the 4 Armed Emperor's work.
Deleting 10 terminators with anti infantry 2+ from the biophagus is beyond disgusting.
I'm also always surprised by how much damage they can soak
Both neophyte and acolyte hybrids feels so strong with the damage they can dish out and the fact you get twenty neophytes in the patrol box is great and makes it easy to field lots of them
I'm honestly glad that pretty much the best unit that GSC have access to is their basic battleline unit, since it's the most readily available, AND THEN we have the Ridgerunners...
Ridgerunners are great, but they are pretty expensive dollar wise vs the points they give you. Incredibly good on the field, though.
It would be interesting to see the best units from Astra Militarum for Genestealer cults, and their combinations withs units Genestealer cults. Thank you for your work, your point of view really important of us c:
Yeah, great idea for a video!
My top 5 is this:
1) Hellhammer
2) Praetor
3) Leman Russ Eradicator, Punisher and Vanquisher (I put it in the same place just cause, you know, its the same tank with different gun on it)
4) Infantry squad (As leaders I prefer Platoon command squad and Castellan)
5) And as an expansion for 4th place - Hades breaching drill
@@marsianerunterscharfuhrer4112 Thanks for comment. What do you think about artillerу and sentinels?
@@yaroslav_shumydub Praetor is an artillery, actually
I dont like Basilisks, but Praetor and Manticore are pretty good
I really like the Basilisk. The movement debuff on infantry is amazing for setting up ambush tokens, and it has a great profile for shooting into heavy infantry that you don't want to use your acolyte demo charge bomb on. In a pinch it can target vehicles too.
I have not tested the Deathstrike, but it feels like it's actually better for us, then guard right now.
You put the Kellermorph way higher than I did
oh hey! fancy meeting you here :)
50pt action monkey that can deepstrike 3” away near neophytes is fantastic.
I guess the close deepstrike is alright, but I agree with you that it's a shadow of its former glory, fingers crossed the codex brings a glowup to the beloved cowboy
Kellermorph isn't very killy but it is absolutely excellent for tricky secondaries like investigate signals and behind enemy lines. I'd take one every game even if it wasn't the coolest model in the army
I love the look of the mad max style jackals etc
This was awesome as always! I know it’s not very meta, but seeing which Guard units are the most useful as Allies would be amazing.
The Patriarch feels like the biggest miss of the 10th Edition GSC datacards. It should be the centerpiece god and master of the cult, but instead it's just a deeply mid upgrade for a single deeply mid unit.
I think a buff is coming with the new codex
To me the Patriarch less needs a buff and more needs a rebuild from the ground up. It should really be a unit like the Triumph of Saint Katherine that buffs your entire cult in some way, not just a Lieutenant for one single unit.@@samulacrum
I hate purestrains so mine will just sit on the shelf because he’s got nobody to run with. He should be able to pair with acolytes.
Yeah, or he should be able to do the Primarch thing and run around as a lone operative if he's within range of a GSC unit.@@Malty404
They are all Tier L - Tier Love
Is this a good time to talk to you about the four armed emperor and what the star children can do for you?
I just learned about this game last week. Going to start with Genestealer Cult.
How’s it going so far?
I can tell this faction is pretty good when it has only a single Tier 4 and no Tier 5s
You're tier lists are a god send for a new player. Thank you!
Get that Combat Patrol now folks, it will surely be gone by summer!
Oh god, thanks for the reminder! that was my assessment, too...
I recently begun declaring my allegiance to the four-armed emperor, and am so happy to see this list as it helped me realize a couple of things i missed about the factions units.
Thiugh I will say i think you rated the Locus higher than it deserves. It just doesnt really have a good place in the current army in my mind. Its a melee buffing character, so ideally you would want it with something that wants to be in melee. Unfortunately it cannot go with thr aberrants, so you have to put it either with the subpar metamorphs or some acolytyes with mining tools. But then in order to even get the benefit of the fights first, you have to have your melee focused squad charged into, which unless your playing against a melee only army, wont happen often enough.
I think if it had something to help units get into melee, like charge rerolls or allowing fall back and charge, it eould see a really good place in allowing your cult to cycle charge some mining tool boys. But as of now, it has to attach to a unit that has to be charged into in order to truly shine, and you have better things to do for 45 points and better things to do with your acolytes
Mutants with mining equipment? And we're not talking about the Deathwing?
OHHHH YEAH I WENT THERE!
Positive thoughts acolytes and neophytes are the back bone of the army in lore and that is definite the case on the tabletop. The rest of the index is what support for them you want and what special twist for the last 500 points you want. I have ran the 100 neophyte list with some success and while movement is hell the damage is real. Also if you want a change of base 30 Abberants is not a great list but it is functional and is very easy to transport.
The greatest thing about Genestealer cults is there Combat Patrol, pick em up before GW nerfs the crap out of it by removing the Rockgrinder and Aberrants.
I feel like the locus, truck, and rock grinder have the same issue. They are solid units that just don’t line up with what the rest of the army wants to do. That being deep striking infantry with shooting and oc 2.
can you let me know what video it was that had the awesome non games workshop space wolf accessory kit i can’t find it or remember the company’s name as i want to wolf up a redemptor dread please i would be eternally grateful thank you
One correction on the Nexos. If he wants to do coordinated trap both units you target have to have a Nexos in it. It directly raises the price of that to 120 points for that purpose.
Not even then, as Coordinated Trap also targets the affected enemy unit, meaning that it is not a valid Strategem for the Nexos' ability, per the most recent Balance Dataslate.
Because of this, I consider the Nexos FAR less powerful than it is ranked here, especially after the points increase.
Great list! But surely you meant Inscrutable Cunning instead of Meticulous Planner when talking about the aberrants? 😗
I see GSC, I click.
thank you
I just got a thousand points of them Friday what a coincidence
Hi! I'm a begginer in WH40k and trying to make a 1000 points CGS list Could anyone help me? Thanksss
Personally, I somewhat disagree on the ranking of Jackal Alphus, the scout + normal move + 6" Ability + Prowling Agitant is not only fun to pull off but is also fairly viable, I'm not sure how many times I've successfully pulled off hit and run tactics against most units and survived because of that 6" move, I'd say at the lowest a lower tier 2 would be more deserved
Metamorphs still not worth taking? But the models are lovely, I think I prefer the look to the other build.
Goliath Truck is needed every game so I would put it T1. Same with Clamavus for your back line.
Abominant I would put T2 based on its cost. That really the reason you want Biologus. Just unnecessary points usually.
Kellermorph is tier 2? I feel like most GSC players put it in the lowest tier.
I actually like it, and I use 3 of them
Just deploy them all next to the neophytes and get a megaBRRRRR automatic turret of Kelermorphs, which goes off each time neophytes is targeted
Their deffrollas are better than ork deffrollas, their powerklaws are better than ork ones too (3+ vs 4+).....
I guess GSC are the new Orks 😂
I prefer the 9th edition Reductus Mine than the 10th edition one. The 9th edition one feels more planed out, with you having to deploy it yourself, I took a good chunk of a Bloodthrister with it once. The 10th edition one feels like a glorified 12 inch weapon that can only be fired in Overwatch.
FINALLY MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED
Coordinated trap targets two units, so Nexos ability doesn't work with it, so only -1 bs&ap, not competing with other characters
It will work, if you got Nexos in each squad, but I dont think it worth it
Clearly just some normal dudes
