Her Dracarys was awesome. Sounded like she was used to speaking High Valarian.
I like how she really emphasizes the "R" just like how it was being pronounce in Spanish.

I'm so sad she's not cast for the entire length of the show, I love her as Rhaenyra sooo much. Her and Daemon's tension is so great too.

She said it perfectly! A huge fan of Emilia but she only said Dracarys with the Valyrian accent once, when freeing the unsullied. And I think the reason for that is that since she was speaking Valyrian in the scene, the Dracarys came out with the proper accent too. Other times she says it in a very English accent, but I didn't mind since she spoke less of her mother tongue than Rhaenrya. I LOVE how much Valyrian is incorporated into the show, Daemon and Rhaenrya constantly speak with each other in their mother tongue which makes so much senssseeeeeee. Love!

Missande corrected Danys understanding of Valerian once. Dany knew Valerian but did not speak much of it while in exile. Her pronunciation would of course suffer from not using it constantly.
@@sanseiryu during her first interaction with Missandei and the Slave master. Dany was keeping it secret that she spoke Valyrian. It wasn't that she wasn't good at it or anything. She wanted to gauge the slave master on how he would treat someone like her.
@@sanseiryu is that true though in the case of any language today? If we dont speak it we would lose the ability to properly pronounce words? I guess during covid lockdown didnt really speak emglish much and when i went back to work was stuttering for a day or two LOL
@@markcruz359 I have a limited understanding of the Japanese language when I hear it. I cannot speak it with any ability. I spoke it as a child before I was adopted. Then lost it after I came to the U.S. I was totally immersed in English starting in the 1st grade. With no Japanese spoken around me, it was clear that I wasn't going to remain fluent in Japanese.
Milly's presence and beauty looks like she's meant to do this role. Would love to see her lead on a dystopian film or action horror film like resident evil.

Milly's career deserves to blow up after her time on HotD is up. She's arguably the best actress & most magnetic female presence currently on a show stacked with talent. Quirky mouth & expressive features - like one of those alien-baby doll models that dominated Prada campaigns, back in the day. (I know Olivia Cooke will crush it too, as I've followed her since Bates Motel.) In a way, Milly reminds me of Taron Egerton in the first Kingsman movie, where he held his own - opposite some heavyweight veterans - despite being a relative unknown. Hopefully, her career will follow an equally auspicious trajectory!

What's strange is that the actress is 22 so feasibly she could play Rhaenyra throughout and grow into the role like Emilia did for Dany. I have no doubt that Emma D'Arcy will do a great job when they switch but I thought she was so great in that first episode that I'll honestly miss her.

Her pronunciation of Dracarys, for me, is better….and i like it. The rolls of tthe R. Hehe. Well probably coz she is high Valyrian and Dany has this “new” accent…..i think.
That's because Dany only learned it from her brother (her mother died giving birth to her) and surrounding Braavosi, who speak a different variant of Valyrian. It's like she spoke Latin with a French accent
Wish we could have seen her in a couple more episodes. I think the time skip was necessary though because there’s so much to be covered.
i didnt know there will gona be time jumps and cast changes so imagine what i felt when i found out the previous episode that i watched was the last one with Milly and even though I didnt know her before i was really impressed of her acting skills

We miss you Milly. Loved you in House of the Dragon 100 times more that who they replaced you with. You should have been allowed to grow and progress with the series as other actors have been. JMO.
They recast all the "child" characters because it would have been strange to have over a decade go by in the story and have characters who were 15 in the beginning not age or change at all. The new actress is also great too.

Milly's sounds like a Spanish trying to speak Arabic.
Which makes sense for both characters...
Daenerys made sense because according to the books, she had a tyroshi accent to her valyrian because she learnt it indirectly while in Tyrosh with Viserys. But lmao if that accent was comparable to americanized japanese, valyria is goin to laugh at her 🤣
As a Native Arabic speaker who never heard a Spaniard trying to speak Arabic....I can neither confirm nor deny.
The only difference is a rolled "R," not sure what is Arabic about that. That kind of "R" is present in Spanish, Greek, and other languages.
