I wanted to drop this a day ago to end November on top. We obviously couldn't but I'm glad with the way the video turned out, for me, it's top 10 I ever made. Bryan's run was filled with some great promos(a bunch of them weren't on TV), great matches and you felt like he enjoyed every second of his return. What did you think of the New Daniel Bryan's title reign?

The Usos forfeiting their match against The New Day so they could get back at Daniel Bryan was such a great moment, definitely one of the standouts in that storyline in my opinion

Bryan's vegan era was some of the best character work I've seen. A once cheered and beloved underdog babyface, turned into a dispicable nature lover who blames the fans for being fickle, the same fans who supported him on his journey to the top.

'The Planet's Champion' was one of my favorite runs, DB killed it and you could tell he was having so much fun with the character; he really did put his all into it.
One of the funniest moments for me was that promo where he was looking at fans and yelling "impotent! Change it!" 🤣
Daniel Bryan's heel turn really had a positive effect on SmackDown in 2019. His heel run gave him an edge and opened up a new, refreshing side to his character. I also like that the way his title run ended with Kofimania was a full circle moment, just like it had happened for Bryan at WrestleMania 30. This was easily the best thing on SmackDown during that period and I enjoyed every moment of it.
The only thing I disliked was how Kofi lost the title and that was the last we ever saw of him in the main event.
@@poopikinsit actually wasn't the last. He had a WWE title match against Lashley... but he got the Cena (vs Lesnar) treatment.
I remember hearing at the time that Vince wanted Daniel Bryan to retain the title and Daniel Bryan had to fight to convince Vince that Kofi should win.

I think his heel turned laid the groundwork for years to come in the wrestling business. That no matter who it is, you can turn them heel and you won’t lose much. I bet WWE didn’t want to make him a bad guy because they thought fans wouldn’t boo Bryan after being gone for so long. But if the wrestler is good enough like a Daniel Bryan, you can go ahead and do it, and after a couple months or years, the face turn will be just as good. Tbh I don’t even remember how Bryan turned face after this lol

The heel turn of Daniel Bryan back in 2018 is what started this gimmick and title reign.. although it was special, I just didn't like his heel persona and "Fickle" movement as a fan because I adored the Yes Movement way better .. but Kofimania was very special for me given the fact I was truly behind Kofi Kingston rooting for him and he did the unthinkable capturing the WWE Championship 🏆 .. 2019 for me as a fan of professional wrestling made this a historical moment I'll never forget ❤
That Bryan x Lesnar match was awesome, I remember watching it live and when Bryan went low and then hit the knee it actually felt believable that Bryan could win it. Lesnar's selling was also amazing
Idk if it’s just me but the planet friendly championship title for me is one of the best looking belts. It’s certainly one of the smartest: the wood being used only coming from fallen trees, the use of natural gems rocks and minerals, and the burlap backing of the strap itself. Kofi is my all time fav and the belt for me at least represents a wonderful point in time which provides one of the most underrated championship reigns in history and one of the best builds ups for any baby face ever.
I’ll say it. Daniel Bryan putting Kofi over so strong during their story and at Wrestlemania is what made Kofimania a top 3 Wrestlemania storyline for me.

I hated Kofi-mania, largely because it was the same mania build that we had Becky as "the man" being shoved down our throats too. Both smacked of a certain something and Bryan was doing arguably the best work of his career as the eco warrior champion.

@@edgeisthegoat that is fair enough ig. It’s probably my bias and somewhat of a botched finish to the Becky/Ronda/Charlotte ending which makes me think that.
I was 11 going on 12 during the yes movement era and to see how far he’s come is amazing! I remember tuning in on raw to see he took over the show and that night will truly be a night I’ll never forget.
Finally! A well-deserved WWE title for Daniel Bryan.
This is the storyline that got me into wrestling!

Brock beating Kofi with one F5 really over shadows not only Kofimania and his reign. But for me it made me completely forget that Daniel Bryan won the championship before him. Jeez.
It was disgraceful and what made it worse is the next week on smackdown Kofi came out dancing like he was never champion

I was a late bloomer to Daniel Bryan. I liked the Yes Movement of course, but younger me didn't realize the significance of what he did. But this version of Danielson is what made me a true fan. So much great character work and I kinda love it whenever Bryan stomps someone's head in.
Kofi Kingston is badass
This was a heel turn I didn’t expect to happen but it was bound to happen he blew his 2011-12 heel run out of the water once he became the planet’s champion
He needed that turn as despite his Yes movement gimmick was one of the most popular gimmicks of the 2010s and got a little played out in 2018, the fans didn't necessarily turn on him but the Yes chants became more & more quieter.
I love how they made him loving the planet and being an environmentalist a heel thing😂😂
His reigns was really standout, the mic, the gimmick and the feud. Also Kofi vs Bryan should have been the main event of that year wrestlemania.

I wish I saw this run when it happened. 2018 was a terrible year for wwe creative wise. When I heard Kofi Kingston was getting a push and Batista was returning I started watching again. Bryan played his part perfectly in the Kofi build up when he called Kofi a B+ player I was rolling on the floor with laughter

I really enjoyed this run of Daniel Bryan being the planets champion it was enjoyable along with being very funny at the same time. I love the fact that his character was berating the fans for not caring about the planet and calling them fickle.
Daniel bryan was absolutely hilarious during this time, His promos and matches definitely delivered. I loved this reign.

This has been the last great Gimmick Reign after a very looong looong time.
This was such an awesome title reign. I remembered how at first I was very mad at Bryan, cause I legit wanted AJ Styles to have a longer reign and potentially be the one to dethrone CM Punk as longest reigning WWE champ given he was full time unlike Lesnar and when Bryan did what he did to win, I was saddened and mad. But when I later discovered what he had become and what he did, I was blown away by how great he was. His matches were amazing and his stories were top notch. Although it didn’t last long, it was fun while it lasted.😁👍

While I enjoyed this run itself, you’ve done other videos on runs where at the time I didn’t necessarily look at them in that light but after watching your videos I end up remembering the run more fondly than the pessimistic attitude i had at the time

Joe Gacy’s early gimmick before the whole Schism thing in NXT was pure gold too when he became that annoying SJW on Twitter who preaches about inclusivity and safe space. Such a shame that the WWE choose to tone down the gimmick tho and making it look a bit like a cult

This was the last 1 night Wrestlemania and it was such a slog with how long that card was. I think this match would have been better appreciated had it been held now that WM is 2 nights long. The crowd would have eaten it up more and the moment would have been a lot more memorable.
