XP12 is pretty amazing for the 'one Ercoupe wing tank of gas' that it costs to buy. Been running it on my M2 Mac Book Air, and it's getting 30-40fps with the new, impressive looking clouds in the sky.
James, I'm like you... despite the naysayers, I'm quite impressed with XP12. BTW -- I'm loving your video trek alongside the Stearman! Wayne (DA40 KSBA)
I just started using X Plane 12 after a multi year hiatus from flight sims. It's pretty great. I splurged on a yoke and throttle quadrant. I just wish I could use it for IFR currency!!
Bryan, I've also been quite pleased with XP12. And from my experience with AATD/BATDs I find my simple home kit just as good -- and in the physics of flight, better. If you need a safety pilot for some currency work, you know where to find me 😀.
@@GeezerGeekPilot I FINALLY got my IFR currency back last week. Now I just need to increase my real-world IFR proficiency again. I honestly hadn't been flying as much as I'd like the past few months due to work/scheduling etc...but hoping to change that. In the meantime, xplane 12 is great when I can't make it out to the airport :)
Nice vid, but I might prefer the engine sounds and not the music. Is this the "stock" Manhattan included out of the box with X Plane 12? Or did you add in scenery?
Wayne - some of your videos show you using oxygen in flight. Can you give details about the unit, how you selected it, etc? Perhaps even a good subject for a future video. Thanks
Chris, thanks for watching... and the future video tip! I use a 4-place SkyOx system (regulator and cannulas). All the best. Wayne (DA40 KSBA) www.aerox.com/build-my-sky-ox-portable-oxygen-system/
@@GeezerGeekPilot Thank you for the prompt response. Did you consider oxygen concentrators such as the Inogen System so that you would not have to refill the bottle all the time? Maybe these can be compared in your upcoming video on the subject :~))
@@chrisr3394, when I got my O2 system (2015) the concentrators were not as light and moderately priced. Today I'd definitely look at one (esp if only needing 1 or 2 places). A C182 friend has one and loves it.

Mike, yes, stock scenery. Wayne (DA40 KSBA)

@@GeezerGeekPilot I am looking at one for my airplane and evaluating the options. Thanks for the response.
