    Interesting you have cell service; around the Houston area that doesn't seem to work (AT&T). Maybe b/c we are flatlanders, no mountains to have towers located on them.

      That could be, although I got enough cell for ForeFlight to send the flight plan over west Texas (a bit east of Midland) at 12,500' (with AT&T). Remember you don't need as good a signal as for voice in order for ForeFlight to file the flight plan. It could also be that my composite airframe helped. Thanks for watching. Wayne (DA40 KSBA)

    The most fascinating part here is that you get cellphone reception at an apparent couple thousand feet above terrain.

      Having filed inflight via cellphone a dozen or more times... I've always gotten a good enough connection for the filing to go through. A few times it took 5-to-10 minutes for the effectively text message to go through. I even had success at 12,500' over western Texas. Thanks for watching! Wayne (DA40 KSBA)
