Household Cavalry Guard of Honour for a Kelso Wedding

- The Household Cavalry, after arriving to participate in an equestrian spectacular at Floors Castle, gave one couple a dream wedding no money could buy - a parade in the square and a mounted Guard of Honour for Jane Vass and Peter Kelly on their big day in the Scottish Border town.
Wow that was awesome wedding, imagine having all those handsome guards at your wedding, it was beautiful. Almost like a fairytale.❤❤❤
For that to happen on your wedding day must make it even more special than it already was. They are all fantastic but in particular I loved the horse and the drummer, not seen so often and just so smart.
And it was just a random wedding too. I love the drum horses too

So cool that the guard joined the wedding festivities after their parade duties were performed.. the British are so lucky to have this living connection to our heritage and culture!! A country that lives alongside its roots is blessed!!❤
Ref comment on the sound of the drums and horses' ears - they are military trained. Think of gun salutes, full bands, battles...

@4yall - who are they?Assuming you're not referring to the bride & groom, this is the Mounted Division of the Household Cavalry of Queen Elizabeth II.Their history stretches 350 years & usually mount guard at Whitehall in London.If you watched the Royal Wedding or Trooping the Colour on youtube these are the same guys.Those in Red are the Life Guards & those in Blue are the Blues & Royals (Prince Harry's regiment).Some of the B&R were blown up by an IRA bomb.The horses are Irish.
I saw a changing of the Guard at White Hall in 1957 as a 10 year old boy. Loved it so much my brother and I gave up a day at Harrod's to watch it again. The second time a riderless horse broke from the stables and came out and got in line. Somebody shoveled manure over that but the crowd cheered for the horse. The 1982 IRA car bomb killing those 4 troopers and 15 horses sickened me.

Does anyone know the breed of horse the drummer was riding? It reminds me of the Clydesdale horses, but those are giants!!
I only know the guard horses they're an Irish Draughft

Clydesdale cross . Not sure which one this is but they usually they have classical names, Alexander, Belisarius, Mercury and Coriolanus to name a few. Although there has also been a Fred and a Paddy. The troop horses are a type not a bread. "Cavalry Blacks" are usually from Ireland but not all.

Shire horses and some have come from ,a farm in N Wales whose farmer breeds them ,they are now classed as a rare breed now unfortunately
