During the pandemic, the entire world shut down. But our agricultural producers never shut their doors. They were out in the field every single day, working around the clock to ensure that we still had food on our tables. Now, four years later, federal agencies including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are still acting under outdated pandemic protocol. During this House Agriculture Committee hearing, I asked CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam what I should tell Kansas farmers and ranchers when they ask why federal agencies that are supposed to be supporting them are still not showing up to work in person.
I also asked Chairman Behnam to share how CFTC is working to produce risk-management resources for our agricultural producers. Listen to the full conversation here.
