I've tried a few times but after a couple of months I just get really unwell and it's really upsetting but woah almost 11 years thats amazing
You started before companies started making vegan stuff (I'm allergic to dairy and eggs so I know the suffering of what it was like in the early 2000s hahaha)
there is such good vegan food out there right now ! i hope you keep exploring the options around you :)
there are so many options now, way more than even five years ago! itâs never been easier to be vegan than it is now, i think the beyond burger is still the best plant-based burger on the market right now.

How cool! I just switched to plant based and I donât even try to replace meat with fake meat. But I do like a vegan burger. Yum!
Iâve eliminated my blood pressure meds with the change to no dairy, meat, or oils. Itâs life changing for me. Iâd love to try that food truck. You make it seem delicious. Iâm jealous. Lol

@@jeanzi3 no added oils. The goal is to be SOS free. Avocado or olive or canola. I read the Starch Solution by Dr McDougal and follow Chef AJ on CZcams.
No added salt, oil, or sugar. :)

Probably because if they were like me, they tried it and didn't like it.
I am not vegan, but vegetarian. After my mother had a heart attack due to high cholesterol I decided to stop eating meat due to the amount of cholesterol. I never like beef much, but I ate pork. I've since switched to plant-based "meat." I tried several before I found some that I liked. Now I love a few of them and make different dishes, incl. burgers. I've been eating plant-based cheese for a couple years, as well as some other things. The "meat" was the one I had a hard time finding one I liked, but I refused to give up. Persistence won. My heart will thank me. :)
We're resistant to it because most of it tastes like rabbit food.
@@kristineplummer7607 rabbit food? Lol when I cook for people who donât know Iâm vegan, they donât even realise itâs not meat because the substitutes in the UK are so good. Itâs about the quality of cooking most of the time.

I've seen one of their food trucks around Charlotte and have been meaning to get some. Vegan food is awesome but it's only gotten better in recent years!

If youâre ever in Raleigh for some reason, I strongly recommend stopping for food at Elements Gastropub downtown. All vegan, and they do a pulled âporkâ nachos and sandwich as well a âpork bellyâ which is honestly delicious. Will it be 100% perfect? No but the BEST Iâve had in vegan versions of those things. Disclaimer, Iâm not vegan or even vegetarian, but I like to try these things since I have vegan and vegetarian friends and want to know whatâs good or get ideas for recreations for parties and dinners I host :). Either way incredibly impressive and tasty! Also love your videos and have even before we moved out this way!

yeah, fake meats can be a hit or miss :/ there are some that are good, especially when you're adding it into foods with sauces or spices, that helps with the taste :3

You're a hoot and a half Mary! đ€Ł I've thought about getting the Impossible Whopper at Burger King, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but would like to see how it is. I don't know how I didn't know this before, but McDonald's french fries are made with beef flavoring! I was pretty broke when I was a vegetarian years ago, but a particular McD's was a popular hangout spot for the young punk kids in the area so I know I ate some without knowing. I was good about reading labels at the grocery store for hidden animal products, (ex. Oreos used to say lard OR shortening on the package) but never would have thought to ask them for the ingredients on their french fries!!

Nice. I recommend you try plant based Field and Roast Smoked Apple & Sage sausages and their Apple & Maple Breakfast sausages đ My friend didn't tell me until after I ate them that they're not real meat. So good.
