Such an amazing overview of the Camino Portugués! Really helpful tips for first time pilgrims, and plenty of helpful information spread throughout. Thanks for sharing Tammy!
Thank you Tammy! I have really enjoyed watching your videos. I'm figuring out my Camino for next April and all your information is so helpful. Take care.
Very nice summary of what to expect. I agree with the smart wool brand of socks. I wear them with work boots, and they are truly worth the extra money.
This was really good. Very thoughtfully presented. Thanks so much!
Thank you for doing this video. I especially appreciate your encouragement to have an attitude of gratitude while on the Camino. I like your journaling idea as well. May God bless you! 😃🌷
Thank you Tammy this proved useful
Great video, lovely to see lush recommended. We bring the shampoo bars to every holiday. Cannot wait to start our walk!

Well done! Buen Camino!
Thank you so much for this video Tammy you’ve inspired me! Im leaving for my first Portuguese Camino in April!!!
I am so excited for you! You will have an amazing time. Be sure to take pictures and post them.
I would love to do this journey. The only thing stopping me are the bedbugs. I don't mind people and I enjoy groups, but those bedbugs are a came changer for me. My only alternative is to book at more expensive accommodations, and I truly wanted to get the pilgrimage feel of this journey.
To encourage you to do it, I’ve done the Camino Frances, Portuguese, via de la plata , and via Francigena and have never had an issue. Most places are very conscientious about bed bugs. But there is also a spray for your sleep sack called Permethrin that works excellent. I used it when I walked the Appalachian trail to keep ticks and bug away. Worked great.
Expensive hotels can have bedbugs just as often as cheaper accomodations. I have walked 5 Caminos and have yet to see a single bedbug. Book at albergues that have bedbug proof mattresses, spray you sleeping bag and pack with Permythrin and check other mattresses and frames.
I’ve travelled it twice and going again next week, bed bugs have never been an issue.
I heard on another CZcams video the best was to avoid BBs is going at the start of the season when they just open up as they will have cleaned throughout, and bring your own sheet, hope this helps 😊

Hi what shoes did you use?
I generally wear Altra hiking shoes. They are extremely comfortable with a wide toe box.

Can a Muslim walk the Camino?
Absolutely! But be careful because the solitude and peace are addictive. You’ll meet wonderful people from around the globe of all religions and ethnicities.
