Hi all, this is my first drone fishing video using my new DJI Mavic Air 2 & Gannet Sport Release. In this video we headed out to a beach on the EAST COAST between Tauranga & Whakatane, New Zealand that @TheWildTable kindly told me about to try our luck fishing with a new dropper rig I'd made as well... and you'll see from the intro this was a very successful trip!!
Following that I take you back to the kitchen for some catch n cook both Korean style and American-style (kind of) BBQ as well! Hope you all enjoy.

It's amazing eh!!! I've tested it over dry land and it can take about 600g which is a crazy amount of weight

I've got the MavicAir2S... about to do my first drops tomorrow. I have the electronic gannet release that uses the drone light switch to drop the baits. 🤞

Brada the best way to cook a kahawai or any fish on a bbq. Pull the guts out clean the fish double wrap with tin foil, add garlic/herbs lemon/salt and tomatoes wrap it up and onto the bbq 40mins cooked nice moist, and juicy, peel the skin back and eat

Honestly I never even knew about drone fishing myself until I was buying Mavic air (which I had for videoing my fishing) batteries on Facebook marketplace a few years ago and a guy was selling his Mavic air and gannet sport release 🤣 and then I bought one and learned it all on the fly! Honestly it's a very cheap and effective fishing method eh

Great vid. That's my local beach you went to, I've had great success too. One time recently, I got 17 snapper in about 6 sets spread between a few mates (I've got the AEE Condor drone). Anchovies work really well there. FYI for next time, there is a reef at about 400m out along there so keep your distance less than that. Cheers
17 snapper 😐😐 faaark yes that's epic oooh that's a good tip epic mate I was guna go back with the electric reel and would definitely have gone past 400m 🤣🙏
@@fisheatrepeat haha yeah you'd loose the gear for sure lol I think where you fished you might be safe, but further down a bit is where you might get snagged. But I've found the fish tend to hold at around 300 to 400m so not much point going further.

Haha we tend not to smoke kahawai mate. There's PLENTY better ways to eat fish than smoking. Sashimi would be #1 then raw fish (either ika Mata or ceviche) but yep have smoked many kahis when I was a teenager
