  • Here is a "How to" video showing everyone how to drone fish using household items. This was a quick morning fishing spot and we didnt have much time. Im using two zipties and a coat hanger to connect the fishing line to the drone.
Here's how to set your drone up: • Set up a DJI MAVIC PRO...

Awsome video. Make sure you have your antennas facing the drone. Flat service pointed straight up. If their straight out, you have most of your signal going into the ground.

I've tried this rig on a phantom 3. Almost lost my drone due to strong winds. I've used a 3ft leader line with a clip. Works really good. Just a lil tug & lines releases. This method works. But I dont like the fact I need to really watch both drone & fishing line while sending the drone out.

You could also use a swivel clip to put on your drone hook so you don’t have to worry about a bad knot making a weak spot in your line and possibly losing a big fish and it’d come off just as easy as the line

Drone? 300 Feet? The surf fishermen in NE Florida don’t need no stinking drone to fish 300 feet off of the beach. I’m 71 years old and can cast the bait and a 5 oz. weight 300 feet out into the surf from the beach. (My best tournament cast a few years back was 450 feet.) Even then I was way far behind many of the youngsters who could really sling it out there. Tommy Farmer set a record of 839.24 feet.
If you want to impress us, take your drone out at least 900 feet.

Only improvement I'd make is doing a slipknot, make a loop and twist it 180 degrees and feed some line through it to make the useful loop. That way when you're done drone fishing you can pull from either side of the knot and it will disappear(: Great video! Going to try this soon with my DJI Phantom

The line should be connected to sink instead of the release hook. This way less chance to line cut by the drone.

It's better to hang the line from its end to reduce the chance of getting it tangled

This man's face is about two feet away from spinning blades of a drone. One gentle breeze.........

Ok.. totatlly cool video, really really good actually... Growing up on the east coast, earlymorning fishing or sports fishing, you see boats, crowds of hundreds of boats, that come from the ocean or deep water fisghing (kingfish or beach fishing), but all the boats are throwing cast nets to give live bait, the key to tall fishing really good bait... i noticed you havee a chunk of meat on your fishing line ( live bait would be great)...
I would suggest remaking this video, using a Sabaki rig, a line of bait or lure used to catch schools or the best live bait, the best kind possible... So do the drone thing, maybe use visual alazation o schools of fish, bait fish, but drop a sabaki rig its like your drone is taking the place of a boat, or the advaage boat... eliminate the proccess of having to go somewhere else creekor pond to catch bait beore you got out, fill up that live bait bucket with the best...

I don’t think your downward sensors are on at all. From my experience with my Mavic Pro, it doesn’t land so quick and easy into my hand with the downward sensors on, it tries to pull away for a few seconds and I gotta hold down on the stick, and hold onto Mavic so it doesn’t fly away from my hand.
